Theme Parks In Orlando Questions asked

Open Question: Tax on theme/water park tickets?

Do they charge tax on theme parks/water park tickets, such as Disney World's Typhoon Lagoon and Wet N' Wild in Orlando, FL? Is it already included in the prices they show on their websites or is it like a 'hidden fee" you only discover after you purchase them at the park? more

Open Question: When is the best time to rent a car?

I'm visiting Orlando for a few days this summer (July 20-23). I'm not planning on visiting any of the local theme parks, as I will be there for work, not pleasure. The prices for rental cars seem a lot higher than I'm used to paying. I'm sure this is due to being the summer travel season. When would be the best time for me to rent my car - now for $30 a day (for an economy size) or wait until right before I leave? I want the absolute cheapest rates possible. Thanks! more

Voting Question: How to get from Orlando to the beach?

I'm 19 and going to Orlando with a friend (also 19). We can't rent a car and don't know anybody in the area. Obviously, we're going to the tourist spots (Disney, Sea World, etc) but we want to fit in a few days at the beach. I know Orlando is far from the beach, so what are easy ways to get to the theme parks and the beach? Is there anything set up for tourists or do we just have to get a cab everywhere? Are there sort of man-made beaches in Orlando? For people like myself who visit it but don't want to/have a way to travel to the ocean? more

Resolved Question: Aside from theme parks, what are good tourist sites in Orlando, Florida?

I'm going to Florida later in the summer, and so far the only thing people keep reminding me of is the theme park there. I don't think it's a bad thing, but I just want to know some of the other things to see while in Florida, like stores and restaurants, memorials--that sort of thing. more

Resolved Question: Is this true? Welcome to BarryWorld?

Anyone as puzzled as I was about all the media hype on our new Administration, or notice the media does not ask our new Administration any challenging questions? There's been a great deal of censorship in the news, and on the Internet, it forums and newspapers in the past few months, and we are losing our freedom of speech quickly. Is this why all the deaths at Disneyland and Disney World don't get reported? Walt Disney Productions is one of Obama's largest money contributors - the donations below do not include the contributions by the companies owned by Disney. And take a look below to see what media Disney owns: http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/search.php?cid=N00009638&name=%28all%29&employ=Walt+Disney&state=%28all%29&zip=%28any+zip%29&submit=OK&amt=a&sort=A Walt Disney Productions owns the media companies below. Any wonder you cannot believe anything you read anymore? Think twice before buying anything "Disney" - because that's who's running this Country now. And we wonder why the theme park continues to flourish with so many children's deaths that don't even shut down a ride for a day? - the majority not being reported. And this is who is now stifling our ability to speak out as well. Voting Question: Orlando and beach in same holiday?

We are travelling to Florida for a week-long family get together in early October. This will involve two kids (approx 11 yrs.). The kids have been to Disney before, so that is not the center of our plans, although it would be a day or two's part of it (or surrounding theme parks). We are interested in beach house, easy access to water park, easy access to Disney, other hliday activities (mini-golf, and other fun things). Is it reasonable to think we might find a beach house, take in a couple of days of theme parks, water park, beach activities, entertainment - etc. without being constantly on the road? Someone suggested Cocoa Beach area. But I don't know enough about Florida. Please help. Thanks - John more

Resolved Question: Downtown Disney Vs. Universal Islands of Adventure?

Next June, my family is going to Orlando for ten days. We plan to use seven of those on the Disney Parks, (three of them twice) one for Sea World, and our last day in Florida at Busch Gardens Africa, since Tampa is seventy-five minutes out of Orlando, we can get over an hour of driving behind us. (We live in Michigan, so it's a long drive.) On our last day in Orlando, we are debating over two options. One is devote a whole day to Downtown Disney. (We're staying in a hotel in Lake Benua Vista, a mile from Down Town Disney.) Our other option is to do the other main theme park in the area, Universal Studios. My family is not a big theme park family. So, I have decided on Islands of Adventure. I think it is the best choice for us. Which do you think is better, and tell me why. more

Resolved Question: Does anyone find it odd. That Six-flags does not have an Email address?

They have ruin many family theme parks. Because it is a corruption. Who thinks they need to own all theme parks. In the country. the prices are way too high. You can go to Universal Orlando. she you will pay slightly higher prices in the park for food. then you do in town. But most of the place are good restaurants. Not poor version of those same place. When you by the season pass. You get parking. You don't have to pay another $30 for it. They have an Email address and costumer service at the park. So you can tell them any problems you have. Try doing that a six flags. They walk away from you. or totally ignore you. In my opinion six flags needs to be closed up. The theme parks need to be what they use to be. I know for us up here. The great Escape was fun. When Charles woods had it. it's too bad he past away. They end up with it. He was there for everyone. Yes you would always see him walking around the park. Meeting the people.I'm glad Great Adventure has an Email address. but the great Escape doesn't. my problem isn't with any other Six Flags expect the Great Escape. Why is it only $2 for a soda at Unversal. When it is over $5 for one at sixflags. more

Resolved Question: Some questions about Orlando/ theme parks?

Hi, i'm going to orlando for the third time with my family in two weeks. I'm the youngest so my parents will decide where we go and stuff. They want to go to universal and islands of adventure. Are they good parks? we have been to disney twice and want to go somewhere because my sister and I are older now. What are good rides there? Is sea world good? I was there my last time, and went on "Kraken". Is "Aquatica" a good water park? Is "Manta" a good ride? And lastly, I get out two days before the last day of school, and I still have two more weeks. How can I do my best, instead of becoming lazy? I don't want my good grades to drop! Anyway, thanks in advance to everyone that answers. Sorry that it is so long. more
