Women Treated Equal To Men Questions asked

Open Question: Why is is that MOST american women are not satisfied being equals in a relationship, and have to dominate men?

Is it revenge for all those years they were "held down"? Any time a guy says something about preferring foreign women to american ones, the same BS argument comes up "you don't want to be equals" well given the femnazi movement, i think they really mean " men don't deserve to be treated as equals". suddenly you a chauvinist if you don't want to reverse gender roles; men are expected to stay at home; anything that remotely might seem subservient such as a home cooked meal---GASP! "oppression"...and American women wonder why men don't want them. Some times i think all feminists would prefer to be lesbians. more

Resolved Question: Why don't women ask guys out?

They say that its because they're afraid of rejection, and all of that, but guys are too! It seems like when it comes to the first few steps of dating, women are totally passive and expect the guys to make all the moves (ask woman out, plan date, move in for first kiss, etc.) Many women want to be taken seriously and be treated on an equal playing level as men, but you'll never be taken seriously by guys when you aren't willing to be assertive and confident in asking out a guy and other stuff (so don't complain). If you want to be treated as equals, we need to all stop responding to all the sexual stereotypes our society has imposed on us. Branch out!You are all missing the point. The point is more times than not (WAY more times than not), men ask women out and not the other way around. Some women REFUSE to ask a guy out. As long as you (as a whole) keep doing that, you're always going to be respected as equals.amandama..., You will never be seen as an equal then. But that's your problem, and not mine... more

Voting Question: About the word "feminism"?

Does it bother anyone else that the dictionary definition of feminism is the equality of the sexes? Feminism = equality implies that the capacity to treat others as equals inherently resides solely with women, and that men are incapable of it unless they have been sufficiently "enlightened" by feminists. Wouldn't it be better to associate gender equality with a gender neutral term? (Equalism, maybe?)James -- Feminism = equality is only my attempt at extreme paraphrasing. And where did I say that I didn't believe in the core philosophy? All I'm saying is that if I started a movement with the goal of liberating "everyone", I wouldn't give it a name associated with only half of everyone. more

Voting Question: Why have American women become so spoiled?

I think men and women are equal. But why do I dislike most American women so much? I am an American male but after traveling all around the world with the air force Ive realized the differences in American women. Its almost like they have no respect and are spoiled, selfish, little princesses in my generation. When I was oversees I noticed that men still get treated like men. Women and men are equal but why have the women in our culture become so much like paris hilton. When im at house parties I notice all these girls acting like sl*ts and I didnt notice this behavior anywhere else in the world..its kind of sadsorry if you dont like truth but if you havent been oversee's then your opinion is null and void. You havent seen what im talking about more

Resolved Question: is the song "dancing with the devil" a true story? if so, it is sooo sad!!!?

is it a true story? ive always wanted to know. it makes me cry evertime i listen to it. if you havent heard it listen to it!!! like, now! heres the lyrics too, I once knew a nigga whose real name was William His primary concern was making a million Being the illest hustler that the world ever seen He used to fuck moviestars and sniff coke in his dreams A corrupted young mind, at the age of thirteen Nigga never had a father and his mom was a fiend She put the pipe down, but forever, yeah, she was sober Her son's heart simultaneously grew colder He started hanging out, selling bags in the projects Checking the young chicks looking for hit and run prospects He was fascinated by material objects But he understood money never bought respect He build a reputation cause he could hustle and steal But got locked once and didn't hesitate to squeal So criminals he chilled with didn't think he was real You see, me and niggas like this have never been equal I dont project my insecurities at other people He fiended for props like addicts with pipes and needles So he felt he had to proof to everyone he was evil A feeble-minded young man with infinite potential The product of a ghetto-bred capitalistic mental Coincidentally dropped out of school to sell weed Dancing with the devil, smoked until his eyes would bleed But he was sick of selling trees and gave in to his greed Everyone trying to be trife, never face the consequences You probably only did a month for minor offences Ask a nigga doing life if he had another chance But then again there's always the wicked that knew in advance Dance forever with the devil on a cold cell block But that's what happens when you rape, murder and sell rock Devils used to be gods, angels that fell from the top There's no diversity because we're burning in the melting pot So Billy started robbing niggas, anything he could do He'd get his respect back in the eyes of his crew Starting fights over little shit, up on the block Stepped up to selling mothers and brothers the crack rock Working overtime for making money for the crack spot Hit the jackpot and wanted to move up to cocaine Fulfiling the Scarface fantasy stuck in his brain Tired of the block niggas treating him the same He wanted to be major like the cutthroats and the thugs But when he tried to step to them, niggas showed him no love They told him any motherfucking coward can sell drugs Any bitch nigga with a gun can bust slugs Any nigga with a red shirt can front like a Blood Even Puffy smoked a motherfucker up in a club But only a real thug can stab someone 'til they die Standing in front of them, staring straight into their eyes Billy realized that these men were well guarded And they wanted to test him, before business started Suggested raping a bitch to proof he was cold hearted So now he had a choice between going back to his life Or making money with made men, up in the cife His dreams about cars and ice, made him agree A hardcore nigga is all he ever wanted to be And so he met them Friday night at a quarter to three Everyone trying to be trife, never face the consequences You probably only did a month for minor offences Ask a nigga doing life if he had another chance But then again there's always the wicked that knew in advance Dance forever with the devil on a cold cell block But that's what happens when you rape, murder and sell rock Devils used to be gods, angels that fell from the top There's no diversity because we're burning in the melting pot They drove around the projects slow while it was raining Smoking blunts, drinking and joking for entertainment Until they saw a woman on the street walking alone Three in the morning, coming back from work on her way home And so they quietly got out the car and followed her Walking through the projects, the darkness swallowed her They wrapped her shirt around her head and knocked her onto the floor "This is it, kid, now you got your chance to be raw" So Billy yoked her up and grapped the chick by the hair And dragged her into a lobby that had nobody there She struggled hard but they forced her to go up the stairs They got to the roof and then held her down on the ground Screaming, "Shut the fuck up and stop moving around!" The shirt covered her face, but she screamed and clawed So Billy stomped on the bitch until he broken her jaw The dirty bastards knew exactly what they were doing They kicked her until they cracked her ribs and she stopped moving Blood leaking through the cloth, she cried silently And then they all proceeded to rape her violently Billy was made to go first, but each of them took a turn Ripping her up, and choking her until her throat burned A broken jaw mumbled for God but they weren't concerned When they were done and she was lying bloody, broken and bruised One of them niggas pulled out a brand new twenty-two They told him that she was a witness of what sbrothers Cocked the Gat to her head, and pulled back the shirt cover But what he saw made him start to cringe and stutter Cause he was staring into the eyes of his own mother She looked back at him and cried, cause he had forsaken her She cried more painfully, than when they were raping her His whole world stopped, he couldn't even contemplate His corruption had succesfully changed his fate And he remembered how his mom used to come home late Working hard for nothing, cause now what was he worth He turned away from the woman that had once given him birth And crying out to the sky cause he was lonely and scared But only the devil responded, cause God wasn't there And right then he knew what it was to be empty and cold And so he jumped off the roof and died with no soul They say death takes you to a better place but I doubt it After that they killed his mother, and never spoke about it And listen cause the story that I'm telling is true Cause I was there with Billy Jacobs and I raped his more

Resolved Question: Isn't beautiful that Jesus treated women as equal in His time?

I believe that Jesus sayings for women are to protect and behave to women equally as men and it is sad that religions didn't recognise women equally as the men for 2000 years after Jesus life. I believe Jesus gave the responsibility to men of how they should behave and men took His words wrong. Jesus spoke to the woman in a public place and Jesus forgive the woman who cheated at her husband. He equally treated women as men. And Paul said that in the eyes of God men and women are equal. That were revolutionary things for the time and maybe the first person to speak like this. God bless us all and have a wonderful day filled with love and faith for our Creator! It is not only women that men used to interptate wrong! there are many things! And Jesus was against af men behaving women as 2-class citizens. Corinthians yes it is written I think by Paul, and Paul is the same person who said : "in the eyes of God men and women are equal" So in those times was hard to change everything, because the man who has love in his hurt will love his wife more than himself. so men who became priests and made religions didn't had real love, they just wanted to make money and have power to control people and of course women. more

Resolved Question: Should your man pay for you two going on holiday or its 50/50?

Me and my BF have been together for 3 months and he suggested going on a ski holiday for a week. I'm a believer that a man should pay, as its the way I was brought up. Plus I do not earn much and my BF does earn very well. He expects me to pay 50/50 but how do I tell him it's not what I expect? I usually not paying for going out, when I date someone. Only once, when one of my ex-BF who had no money at all and was living on benefits because of his heart condition, we would pay 50/50 for everything and every time. I think maybe me being Russian and him English has this difference in our opinion on this? But then again, my ex husband who was English as well, he never let me pay for anything and was treating me really as a man should treat his woman, make her feel well treated, loved and looked after. I prefer to feel myself a woman not this modern crap democracy being equal, why would I want to be treated as a man?Hey CT, I'm not money grabbing stipud bitch as you call me. My ex BF - who had nothing, I spent £££ him, plus buying him expensive medicaments on top of present or clothing. I bought my mum a flat, I got my dad 4x4 for £15K, but that when I had money and was doing well. If I was money grabbing bitch, I wouldn't date anyone who is poor, but that not the way I was brought up. The simple questions is, should a man be a man and pay or not?? Would I be again in a good finincial situation like last year and hte year before, I would pay for this trip, no problems. For me this questions lies in the same category, as should a man open a door for women or not. jeesus.. more

Resolved Question: When a women insults a man?

Why do women AND MEN think its not ok to respond back to a women's insult. They say be a better man and just walk away. The girl who I knew for awhile called me a pussy . If I just took that, then that would prove her right, she was a friend of mine, I had to let her know that's the fucking worse comment she can call a male friend of hers , a lover, a brother, a father. I yelled at her called her a fucking whore, and she got scared then I walk away. Then all these guys and women came to me and say I was wrong. That my mother did not raise me right. I am sorry but my mother thought me not to let anyone walk all over me . I believed In being equal. why is wrong to respond to a women when she inflicts and provokes . I believed that my ex friend will treat others with more respect, and I turn her into a better person. It was tuff love. more

Resolved Question: Do you mistreat people to gain respect? Especially women?

I have been on a rampage of courtesy, kindness, equal treatment and compassion for 10 years. I have treated everyone around me like royalty, the way I wanted to be treated. I have been a generous, thankful servant to all. I never let my bad attitude, or bad day out on anyone else. My goal was always to spread peace, harmony and to be a friend to all. Over the years a few men noticed my obviously unconventional style and saw it as an opportunity to disrespect me without consequence. Some threatened to kill me for no reason, others would physically demean me or even blatantly dishonor me in front of groups of people. I would be merciful, knowing that I am better trained and better armed. They were always bigger guys, definitely bullies and I would pity their pathetic approaches. I also noticed later that the situation would trouble me so severely that I would wish I had fought them on the spot for years to come. Eventually one guy went so far, that I scrapped my saintly approach and am now ready to punch people in the face at the sign of any blatant disrespect. On a lower level, people still absolutely disrespected me by ignoring me. They would initiate insults, rudeness and dump their bad attitude and day on me. I wasn't good with come backs and I couldn't figure out how to avoid them destroying my day. I made the decision to do what everyone else does. Destroy their day, before they destroy mine. I initiate every conversation with a touch of rudeness and bad attitude. I order people around. I am stern. I am short with people. I honk at people in traffic and make them feel insecure and stupid. I embarrass people in front of coworkers and friends and I feel great about it. People show me respect. They notice when I come around and they like me more now. I know that some even fear me. I overwhelm them with psychological and verbal dominance. They can hear that I am throwing my weight around and they comply with me. They support me in fear of getting dumped on. Every time I talk to a woman I change my voice to be authoritative, rude and demanding. I add in a tinge of disgust to make them feel insecure about themselves. I treat them as un-equals, as man-servants in just oh so sleight of way. They absolutely love it. I can hear them breathe a sigh of relief, knowing they have been put in their place by a real man. I can hear their mind flip a switch and say: "Wow, this is a real man, all men are jerks, but he is a very nice, smooth, clear and gentle jerk". Mistreating people is gaining me lots of respect. Do you mistreat others for respect? Especially women? It is hard on me to do this, but I guess women still don't know that they should be treated equally. They resent being treated fairly. What's your opinion. For clarification. I don't hit women, but I have been hit by my girlfriends. And yes my mother knows that I believe these things and that I especially treat women this way. I do it subtly and just increase the intensity until I notice that I got my desired results. My mother loves it when I put her in her place. I am even teaching her how to do it to others. She agrees with me that women need a sort of strong presence to give them a feeling of security. Women want to seduce a powerful and dangerous man. If a man is not perceived as powerful, nor dangerous, then adult women consider him a non-entity. He becomes like a child, a nuisance, and they then treat him accordingly. It was irritating. Now its time to turn the tables. Like I said, they love me for it. It is like a sick game for them, that everyone is playing. I just joined late, I just happen to be an excellent player. I love women, I just wish they would respond to decent treatment, but they weren't. more

Resolved Question: why do people always say that were all equal when were obviously not?

the truth is no one is equal. some one is always better then some one else at something. i understand that every one should be treated with respect and dignity but this all equal thing is a bunch of crap. if were all equal then why do some of us make more money then others? why do some dance better? why do some fight better? some people say men and women are equal and therefore can do certain things just as good as the other. thats also a bunch of crap. how often have you met a man that could multitask as a good as a woman? i mean there's a few that slip through the crack but its really rare. if were all equal then why would a woman get her face smashed in if she tried to play football in the nfl?jon b: you should reread my question. you are so far off from what im asking lol.xxsoul: yeah! a woman agrees with me!mommy: good answer!mojo: i would have to disagree with you. if we chose the best men football players in the world and had them play with the best women football players in the world, i would put everything i have on the men's team. sorry but facts are facts.opera: i disagree with some things you said but this quote is true. We aren't created equal, but I do believe we all deserve equal rights.the green one: actually in college they do always shove this idea down your throat. and its actually meant that we all are equal in a materialistic way. more

Resolved Question: Are my desires contradictory, do women like this exist?

I am looking for a very special woman. I'm 23 and I adore older women 35-55. I want a woman who likes to spank men. Not a mistress or 'goddess.' I wouldn't even like a woman to say she was "in the lifestyle" I don't consider myself a slave or sub. I believe in equality in a relationship, and I don't really like labels. I want to be with a woman who would spank me, yet treat me as her equal. My ideal woman can put me in my place over her knee and is tender and loving at the same time. I can't explain it. I want a woman who is loving, sexualy unihibited, cultured, and who likes to travel. I want a woman who makes me a better man. I am ultimately looking for a long-term relationship, eventually marriage. Do I want too much?  more

Resolved Question: If God did not want women to speak...why did he give them tongues? ?

Why give them a brain similar to a man's brain...did God intend for women to actually think regardless of how women are treated in the Bible? Based on God's feelings towards women as depicted in the Bible, would not a brain the size of a small monkey have sufficed? What is the need in giving women an intellectual capacity equal to a man's? Is that really needed considering the original tasks of women are not all that difficult...cooking, cleaning and breeding..? 1corinthians 14:34-35 "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." "Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14) "A shameless woman shall be counted as a dog; but she that is shamefaced will fear the Lord." (Eccles.26:25) "For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." (I Corinthians 11:8-9) "A silent and loving woman is a gift of the Lord: and there is nothing so much worth as a mind well instructed. A shamefaced and faithful woman is a double grace, and her continent mind cannot be valued." (Eccles. 26:14-15) Christian women...do the previous passages really sound to you like the word of God? Or do they sound more like something that would come out of the mouth of a man? Do you just ignore this stuff or somehow justify it all? "The bible teaches that women brought sin and death into the world, that she precipitated the fall of the race, that she was arraigned before the judgment seat of Heaven, tried, condemned and sentenced. Marriage for her was to be a condition of bondage, maternity a period suffering and anguish, and in silence and subjection, she was to play the role of a dependent on man's bounty for all her material wants, and for all the information she might desire... Here is the Bible position of woman briefly summed up." --Elizabeth Cady Stanton And please keep in mind, my question arises from reading the bible and is not intended as an insult...if you find my question offensive then you must also consider the source to be offensive.  more

Voting Question: I Have No Idea What I'm Talking About?

I think I've noticed something. It has to do with women. I've noticed that women tend to act like they are equal to men, but when you flirt in just the right way, they turn into umm... women? What I mean is that they become extremely feminine. Perhaps it's a natural way to reveal their nurturing instinct? It happens ALL THE TIME. It doesn't matter who the woman is. If you treat her right, she becomes more feminine. It's mind boggling. On the flip side, I can't see why most men haven't figured this out yet. Ladies- Look at your female friends when she's being flirted with by a guy she likes. Guys- Pay attention to your girlfriends when you flirt with them. See what I mean? So, does my theory hold any water? I never said that women weren't equal. Don't put words in my mouth. And I would appreciate it if a guy answered. Women will never admit this. more

Resolved Question: When a man thinks that women shouldn't be treated as equal?

If men run the field, and don't let women on the field, and then tell them they can't play as well without ever giving them a chance to play in the first place, are they misogynists, or masculinists, or just really scared to let women have the ball because they might play as well or better than the men? And why exactly is this an issue in the first place, why do so many men feel the need to hog the ball? Wait, did you just compare the size ratio between men and women with elephants and grasshoppers? more

Resolved Question: a question about islam?

Women Confined and Mistreated By Hikmet ISIK Question: Some people claim that in Muslim societies, women are confined to their home and they are oppressed. Is there any truth in this claim? What is the position of women in family life and in society according to Islamic disciplines? A: Islam saved women who were exploited, enslaved, and regarded as second class in the darkness of the pre-Islamic Age of Ignorance from the position of a poor creature and elevated them to a new status as a blessed being. Islam freed women from being treated as a tool of pleasure and laid Paradise under their feet. If the essential sources of religion and the exemplary lives of the first two generations of Muslims who lived after God’s Messenger are carefully studied, it will be seen that Muslim women were absolutely not confined to their home and they were never oppressed. If those who come up with such claims are not prejudiced and are not making deliberate assertions, then these ideas stem from being ignorant of the essential principles the religion set on this matter and from attributing misconceptions and misapplications—which originate from interference of local customs—throughout history to Islam. Islam is the only religion which has given women such extensive rights; when we look at the Qur’an, practices of the Prophet, and the history of Islam, except for some abuses caused by individuals’ mistakes, it will be seen that women gained the most exalted status in Muslim societies. Yes, women have a unique position in Islam, which can never be found in other systems. Even the societies considered as the most developed in our time are backward on this issue and they cannot be compared with Islam. In these modern societies, even though women seem to have a certain freedom, it is rather a freedom to satisfy certain carnal desires, and such a freedom, whether for men or women, cannot be welcomed by primordial human nature and sound intellect; it cannot be acceptable in any divine religion. In recent centuries, the difficulties of making a living brought by bloody wars between states and the pressures of economic needs pushed women into the workforce and out of their homes. After this emergence, women started to earn their own livelihood and to some extent they gained economic freedom as individuals, but in many cases they were not saved from being exploited by capital holders, who wish to benefit particularly from their physical attractions. Unfortunately, especially in Western societies, women have found superficial and artificial love only at a particular moment of their lives in proportion to their contribution to the market, to material values, and to their serving men’s carnal desires. However, they have mostly lost the respect and love they previously experienced in social life as daughters, sisters, wives, mothers, and grandmothers, and this can never be replaced by anything else. In the long run, under the guise of freedom this time, they got to be exploited on and on with modern techniques (!), they were deprived of most inalienable rights, and become a victim of abuse equivalent of the dark ages. As a reaction to all the injustice done to women (such as their lack of civil and property rights and the absence of justice toward women in family law) a movement to claim women’s rights emerged, particularly in the West. Even though this movement is considered an awakening of women, it occurred as a reaction and was doomed to imbalance like all other reactionary movements and ended up in extremism. Although the starting point was to defend women, in time it deviated from the original aim to the degree of being full of hatred towards men and to feeling a grudge against them. The movement named feminism, which was born from the idea of protecting women and providing them with rights equal to those of men, has only left behind longing, sorrow, and wreckage as a movement of discontentment. Nevertheless, the representatives of feminism, which now has different varieties, have pursued very different demands and the movement has frequently deviated from protecting the rights of women to the excess of trying to establish their dominance. Two bodies, one soul God has created woman as a partner to man, not as anything else. In this respect, he cannot be without her and she cannot be without him. According to Muhammed Lutfi Effendi, the Sufi scholar and poet (d. 1956), even though Adam was in Paradise, he lived in sorrow during the time when he was without Eve. Had Eve been created first, then at that time she would have lived in sorrow without Adam, since they could not do without one another with respect to their creation. They were like two bodies and a single soul and represented the two different faces of one truth. God has created women and men in relation to each other as He created the electron in relation to the proton, the negative pole in relation to the positive one, the female seed in relation to th more

Resolved Question: Are wise Feminists concerned of the possibility of Males falling too far behind?

Regarding Male Crisis: Something not understood could be much worse in the future Please correct me where I am wrong, but I feel feminists truly believe women must undergo some forms of retaliation from some Males in various ways before they are finally accepted as equals in the world economy. I feel women and feminists believe persons whether they be Male or Female are more or less given equal mental, emotional, social, and academic support as a group. Thus those areas supposedly being equal, there only remains, according to present medical or genetic model thinking, one’s ability or effort in determining one’s place in the world economy. Correct me if I am wrong. I feel feminists and women believe they simply must prove their credentials, experience, and knowledge to finally be accepted by men as equals. Then after this brief period in time, men and women will finally be able to respect each other on more even terms. I feel there is the belief that when this achieved the problems with the Male backlash will then slowly die off into history. Now, with that said. I feel the issue of Males falling behind academically and economically is perhaps an oversight not foreseen by many persons both feminists and those outside that circle. I sincerely feel truly educated and very wise feminists do not desire a Male Crisis. They truly wish Males and Females were competing equally in the classroom. Wise feminists know as I know that Males are operating in a very physical, power oriented world. Wise Feminists know that unless there is equality in the classroom their hopes for a peaceful future will not come to fruition. They know that without equality in the classroom, Males will fall behind to a collective point where a Male backlash will not just continue but will grow more and more intense over time. This bodes very poorly for society and yes, women in the future. Note this is a real problem for feminists everywhere, for they are only interested in equality, not superiority. I hope feminists are just as leery or doubtful as I am as to the outcome for equality given the reasons presently seen as causes for Females surging ahead academically and economically. The ideas presented are laziness or lack or willpower; differences in brain function or activity; lack of role models; lack of Male teachers or Male direction in the classroom; learning differences requiring different modes of instruction requiring more tactile instruction; or simply organic inferiority to learn information age skills. I hope those who have seen these suggestions are just as skeptical as I am as causes that can be adequately dealt with for society to achieve sufficient equality for Males and Females. I feel long before we look in those directions, we need to do a real heart felt check into just how Male and Female children and adults are treated. I really believe that until those areas are examined fully, society will do itself and many Males a very grave disservice by looking into organic differences as the cause for the current, international Male Crisis. I feel unless my theory is given serious consideration, the Male Crisis will only get worse and hopes for an equal outcome for feminists will take a more terrible turn in the future. I strongly suggest they look in multiple areas, but most of all look at the environmental differences in treatment I present in my learning theory. I hope my theory and its cognitive tools are given serious consideration. I feel it represents the only real hope for Male to attain equality in society. My learning theory will go to all on request by e-mail at mayfieldga@bellsouth.net http://www.reuters.com/article/lifestyleMolt/idUSN0334472920070803 http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/02/11/BAGB1H6IFN11.DTL http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/006/531ffoaa.asp  more

Resolved Question: What do you think of this article, with very worrying facts?

Note for feminists, you may be offended by this as it highlights bigotry, deceit and generally misandry within the feminist movement... (minor emphasis by me) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fullcomment/archive/2008/12/06/barbara-kay-fed-on-myths-preying-on-men.aspx ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ November was Domestic Violence Awareness month. Truth in advertising suggests it should be Y-Chromosome Apartheid Month. Far from promoting “awareness” of a social problem or remedies for men and women with anger issues, the month is basically a radical feminist war dance around the Original Sin of maleness, cheered on by “progressive” media sympathizers. The annual verbal pogrom will find its apotheosis in today’s 19th observance of the Montreal Massacre anniversary, our Domestic Violence industry’s shrine to feminism’s Big Lie of male unilateralism in domestic violence. It’s awkward that the December 6, 1989 massacre of 14 women at École Polytechnique in Montreal — unlike ritual wartime massacres of men and boys, such as the ***8,000-death*** horror of Sbrenica — remains a freak one-off in the west, perpetrated by a lone sociopath, with neither prequel nor sequel to suggest a pattern. But emotion, not reason or facts, drives the Domestic Violence industry. The truth is that the more precisely identified phenomenon of “intimate partner violence” (IPV) in western culture is gender-neutral, an acting-out of psychological problems around intimacy that afflict men and women alike. IPV is initiated by ***both sexes in about equal proportions.*** Self-defence is ***rarely*** the motive for women’s violence against men. Literally hundreds of ***peer-reviewed***, community-based studies, including StatsCan’s, confirm this. But they don’t reach the public. (Under pressure from ***feminist organizations***, for example, a Quebec health agency recently sequestered a commissioned psychosocial study showing men and women are equally culpable of IPV.) But most damaging is the suppressed fact that even bilateral IPV in general is a relative rarity in our culture. A woman is more likely to be struck by lightning than killed by her spouse. IPV simply isn’t the systemic epidemic that hysteria-mongering feminist organizations so shamelessly project. Since 1980, the Quebec government has sanctioned the “fact” that 250,000-300,000 women over the age of 15 suffer IPV from their partners or husbands annually. Actually, about 14,000 Quebec women and 2,500 men annually report themselves victims of conjugal violence. Allegations deemed worthy of trial, however, are dramatically fewer in number. Recently, the Quebec government abruptly withdrew its wildly conjectural 300,000 figure from Google-accessible circulation, after a pertinacious group of independent researchers demanded to know its source through the Access to Information Act. There was ***no source***, of course. Yet financial allocations remain pegged to the mythical 300,000 and are ***exclusively*** awarded to women’s projects. This year, the Quebec Auditor-General’s report focused an accusatory light on fiscal profligacy and lack of oversight in the women’s abuse industry. Grants to abuse-related women’s projects have soared from $30-million in 2002-2003 to $60-million in 2007-08. One six-bed shelter’s grants in that period bounced from $58,832 to $406,817, even though the shelter only served nine women throughout 2006-07. Almost half a million dollars to house nine women? Yet a bamboozled public believes thousands upon thousands of battered women are seeking refuge. Reality just doesn’t jibe with that picture. In 2004, the Yellow Brick House, an Aurora, Ont. shelter closed during a labour dispute. It emerged that of the eight women and three children residing there, only one woman was fleeing abuse. The others were homeless. Exceptions, believers will say. Everyone “knows” violence against women is epidemic. Really? Edmonton Police Service reports from 1999-2000 indicate the police responded to 3,000 domestic incidents. They referred exactly 24 women — less than 1% — to shelters. That 1% figure recurs again and again. The co-ordinator of Cornwall Commmunity Hospital’s Assault and Sexual Abuse Program in Cornwall, Ont. claims that “17-30% of all women treated in hospital emergency departments are victims of domestic violence.” Reality check: Her own hospital’s screening for abuse of 157,000 in-patients turned up only 150 IPV- related injuries (both sexes). I’ll conclude with the words of a former batterer, Linda Kinsella. When her unprovoked anger turned to rage, Kinsella used to scapegoat her disabled husband by tipping over his wheelchair and otherwise abusing him. Adding to his nightmare, the police (typically, stupidly) ***arrested him*** when called to the scene. Therapy for Linda saved their marriage. A repentant Kinsella asks: “If women are able to do all the good things that men can do in [the] professions ....Kinsella asks: “If women are able to do all the good things that men can do in [the] professions ... then why [do] we, as a society, deny that women can do the bad too? It is my fondest hope that someday there will be true equality in our society and that domestic violence will be seen not as a gender issue but as a societal one that will end when we work together to stop it.” Amen, brothers and sisters. National Post ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Clearly, we will NEVER reach true equality until hatemongers stop promoting INequality when it detrimental to the xy sex and promoting equality only when it benefits the xx sex. Anyway, what are YOUR thoughts on this article? more

Voting Question: Does anyone feel very insecure with a high intelligence?

Hello, I am Japanese and I am an independent learner. I am fluent in numerous languages and fairly proficient with English. My interests are the sciences and mathematics. It is very enjoyable to play with numbers. Devising your own complex formulas is fun and forming new solutions to difficult mathematical probems is as well. Now, I might be intelligent, but this does not equal flawless judgment or perfect reasoning. My opinions are not entirely objective and they will have external influences that result in them inevitably having flaws. I wish for people’s advice to utilize and combine with my own for advancement. I want my ideas to flourish and develop—and I’ll use any opportunity to enable this to occur. It is possible that your advice could benefit my mind and contribute to my thoughts, which could lead to a solution for various problems. My IQ is 169 (WAIC) and I was identified as highly gifted at an early age. My parents were both professors and recognized my signs of having great potential. They encouraged me to expand my knowldge and ensured that my intelligence was nurtured well. I was considered brilliant mathematically for excelling at the deeper levels of the subject when merely 12 years old. My studies were on par with those of the average undergraduate mathematic students in the United States. I was deemed as exceptionally gifted and treated as a genius. This flattered me and, surprisingly, inspired me to continue for the reward of receiving this praise. I also had the personal motive of wishing to accumulate the knowledge through interest. My intellect was regarded as one of the best at my educational facility and I wished to maintain this status. I expected this to only be possible with contineous extensive schooling. No one could surpass me intellectually, I inititally thought, but I begun meeting scientists and my arrogance was revealed before my eyes. I am far above the general norm in terms of intellectual abilities, yet I become the norm when ranked among prominent scientists and mathematicians. If you add me into a group of other gifted 19 year olds, I am normal. This saddens me and my delusion of being ‘special’ was crushed. Yes, I am special as an individual, and I will have original thoughts that could be classified as ‘special’, but my wish was to be special as a whole to humanity. As in how Newton was a special gift to mathematics. His innovations were many and I think I will bring only a few minor ones at maximum. Also, these minor will ones be on par with those of the other gifted students within my norm for intellect. There will be over 20 other discoveries from other people. These discoveries will be on level mine and the people will therefore possibly be on level with me in terms of intellectual abilities. Therefore, I am not truly special intellectually. Very good, but not incredible as Einstein or Newton, who brought ‘major’ breakthroughs that changed this world evidently. One man or woman will bring a major one soon and it will not be me. They will be above this ‘norm’ that I am in. How long until a discovery on the level that a man only brings every 1000 years? Perhaps this duration it takes is decreasing considering our advancements. If luck is a major factor, it could be much sooner – yet this is an average hypothetically. I know how my discoveries are insignificant when viewed objectively. This saddens me and I feel as if it is pointless for me to even continue my research. I met around 40 people on my level and they should bring a discovery to this world equal to mine, in my opinion. How many people brought discoveries equal to Newton’s in his lifetime? Very few in his fields, to be honest. I wish that I was far above the norm I am within to have the capacity to reach the extent of Newton’s brilliance. This is the same as many wish to be on my level who are below me, I guess. more

Resolved Question: HELP EDIT MY SPEECH!?

This is my assignment: Write your own speech, (2-4 pp.), where you put yourself in the context of your times and propose your own plan for improving American education and national leadership. This is my speech: In these times of economic woe, prestigious affordable schools are almost impossible to find. In fact most people like you and me can only afford community college and will never go on to become successful lawyers or doctors. No instead those jobs are left for the graduates from more prestigious universities. And admission to these Universities is near impossible unless you have money or an extreme amount of intelligence. Yes schools have come very far, but they have only gone very far for a select few. The rest of us are stuck working just as hard for a lesser prize. Just like a pair of brand name jeans the most select universities are available only to the upper class. This cannot go on. We cannot continue a country built on previous generations of wealth. Our founding fathers glorified a nation built on intelligence and freedom. They would not sit idly while men and women of the most unintelligent nature control some of the highest posts in this country. We need to change this contemptible system. All citizens of the United States have the right to a good education. Intelligence needs to be put higher than money so that we can move this country on the right path. We need to treat every school the same so that we have an equal opportunity for all. Please help with editing/suggestions. My teacher is very picky. A decent answer will get 5 stars and will be much appreciated by me. more

Will Hillary walk the walk or has she just talked the talk and now she has a chance to really press for "human rights" for those women oppressed she will act as if nothing is or has been wrong? Resolved Question: Could you please check this for grammatical errors? - part 2?

This is second part. Could you please check this for grammatical errors? Thank you! "National/local laws It is extremely important to recognize that each business has a number of legal obligations. Resolved Question: Can somebody edit my essay! PLEASE TKM?

It took me very long to write and I'm just very very very happy that I'm finally done ! :"D I just now need someone to check it, can somebody be kind enough and read it please! I know it's long >_< ________________________________________________________________ ATTICUS THE MOCKINGBIRD Mockingbirds are peaceful animals that sing their hearts out for the enjoyment of people to hear. Atticus Finch also sings a song but a song that captivates the hearts of those around him. He sings a song of justice, respect, and love. A harmony that expresses the type of person he is and is known to many individuals. He has proven that in harsh situations it doesn’t mean you should give up on what you have worked so hard on but never loose faith in yourself and in others. Atticus made it his duty to convey his message of justice to society. He took a severe path that could have ended him up on loosing everything he earned for, as his respect from society and the harsh consequences that will come from defending a Negro. However Atticus took the case and did his job proudly which was defending Tom Robinson with all of his ability. As Harper Lee stated in the novel Atticus informs us that he knew in some way that he might not win the case, but it didn’t mean anything to him, he kept on fighting for what he believed in and never lost hope on justice. Atticus's strong sense of morality and justice motivates him to defend Tom Robinson with determination, and giving it all he has got. He shows this when he says, "Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try and win" (Lee, pg 76). The speech that Atticus had recited to the whole courtroom revealed his power of determination and confidence. He pleaded to the jury that all men are equal, no matter what skin color they have “You know the truth, the truth is this: some Negroes lie, some Negroes are immoral, some Negro men cannot be trusted around women, black or white. But this is a truth that applies to the human race and to no particular race of men….” (Lee, pg 204). He was trying to explain that not all Negroes are immoral, that the public shouldn’t assume incorrect rumours, we are all human, we do wrong, and there isn’t one human being out there who is perfect. Atticus remains the same person throughout the story; he doesn’t change his character from the public he remains true to himself and to those around him “Atticus Finch is the same in his house as he is in the public streets” (Lee, pg 89). He keeps everything open and not hidden from anyone “Best way to clear the air is to have it all out in the open air” (Lee, pg 273) Atticus’s whole life is based on doing what is right, on his integrity. Such as the time when Jem and Scout were attacked by Bob Ewell, Atticus thought that Jem killed Mr. Ewell. He wouldn’t even bend the law to protect his son from being charged with a crime or even worse murder, if it ended up in that predicament. He would have then done everything the law would allow him to do to defend his son as his lawyer. Atticus was extremely honest and law-abiding; he’s a man who would try to regain justice to any situation that he encounters. Respect is giving to you when you treat others the way you want to be treated. To accept them the way they are in any form, to be humble, honest, and considerate regarding to their feelings, to not be self-centered. Respect is shown and expressed in many different ways; Atticus showed respect by not stooping down to Bob Ewell’s level of shame. Atticus never fought back, he never argued, or physically harmed him in any way. Atticus only showed him sympathy and pity; he was very polite to him even though Bob Ewell showed no respect in return “Mr. Ewell approached him, cursed him, spat on him and threatened to kill him” (Lee, page 217) & “[He] stood there and let Mr. Ewell call him names” (Lee, page 217). This proved that Atticus was the bigger man, even though he was angry he never made his rage take over him, he was in total control of his actions. Unlike others in the community Atticus tries to look at everyone as an individual even those who are outcast by their society. Including Boo Radley, the black community, and those of poor community, he only sees the good in everyone and is committed to making his children feel the same way he does. He’s very proud of his job and he doesn’t care what other people think or say. Attics wants to keep his dignity and respect from the town if he backed down from the case, he would lose it “…if I didn’t I couldn’t hold my head up in town, I couldn’t represent this country in the Legislature, I couldn’t even tell you or Jem not to do something again” (Lee, pg 75). He treats everyone fairly, and talks to anyone kindly when he encounters them. He becomes friends with anyone no matter where they came from or what race they are, Atticus doesn’t care about those features that people say crudely about; he’s a person who only looksin your inner soul, the type of person you are and portray to others “I do my best to love everybody” (Lee, pg 112). Atticus never judges anybody’s financial situation or the way they live, he accepts all human beings “Never judge anyone, until you have been in their shoes, and walked around them” (Lee, pg 279) Wise words, from a wise man. He’s informing us that you never know how a person feels or has been going through until you experienced it for yourself.Atticus cares and loves his children very much and would do absolutely anything for them. Even though he’s a single parent and very busy with work on defending Tom Robinson, he still spares time for his kids. He shows affection to scout by reading her to bed every night; he makes a promise to her on keeping their reading a secret from her teacher. Reading is a connection they have to each other; it’s something precious to them that they do to spend time together “If you’ll concede the necessity of going to school, we’ll go on reading every night just as we always have” (Lee, pg 31) He feels that education is a important necessity and value in life that you need. Atticus never abused his children; he’s a father that disagrees with the idea of physically harming a child, hisstrategy of parenting is to have a common ground of agreement, to have communication between the child. Atticus is a father who has never laid a hand on his kids and never will; he also doesn’t drink and never needs to “Atticus ain’t ever whipped me since I can remember. I wanta keep it that way” (Lee, pg 56). Atticus shows his love towards his children by trusting in them, having faith in their decisions that they choose. He gives his children independence; he doesn’t trap them or keep them from the world, he gives them freedom “We’ve been goin to town by ourselves since we were this high” (Lee, pg 101).Throughout the story we’ve learned lots of lessons that Atticus has taught to his kids, one of them would be about courage. Courage is an ability to be confident in yourself, to be able to accomplish any goal you set. For insistence courage in this situation would be when Mrs. Dubose needed a distraction for her mind to stop her erg of taking pain killers. She was a Morphine Addict; her only request before she dies was to be free from her addiction. That’s why she portrays courage and that’s what Atticus wanted to show Jem that strength and courage can come from anywhere but true courage is when you stick it through no matter what “I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin anyway and you see it through, no matter what” (Lee, pg 112). There’s also another valuable lesson Atticus teaches to his children and that would be “shoot all the blue jays that you want, but, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird” (Lee, pg 90). This lesson is to tell them that shooting things is not good, but rather that there are some things that are living peacefully and have a purpose on earth. Overall Atticus portrayed a human being who isn’t tempted or is influenced by the evilness of this world; he truly resembles the character of the mockingbird even though he’s a Finch he’s a bird who’s majestic, a bird that spreads his wings out and reaches the hearts of those around him. He sang his song of justice, respect, and love; he showed that in this corrupted world there are still people who haven’t given up hope on their dreams and on you. That no matter what happens or what trouble you encounter you can still count on those who will always be there for you, no matter what.I'll give you 5 POINTS if you check it more

Resolved Question: Why does this country think women are "entitled" to maternity leave?

I know my view is controversial, and I know I will probably get blasted in lieu of real answers. Seriously, though--why should the rest of the workplace pick up the slack for a few months because a woman chose to have a baby? I am in favor of medical leave, but pregnancy is a choice (excluding rape). There is no such thing as an accidental pregnancy--if a woman has sex, she can get pregnant. I absolutely cannot see how anyone could see these policies empowering woman. If women really want equal rights, they should be treated the exact same as men. more

Resolved Question: Women have more rights outside of America.?

Iran has the largest number of female university graduates in the world and they Women have taken majority of the jobs in every field how can you say that they are not treated equal? In the U.S. there are seats saved for Women so that women also get a chance in the government. But Iran is looking into saving seats for men so that men get a chance. And the laws are just to protect the ladies how come there are barely any rape crimes in Iran and how come they are treated with more respect in Iran than anywhere else in the world? The corporate giant Wal*Mart openly discriminates against women by not letting them get higher paying positions despite so many cases against Wal*Mart. And they have said it to ladies no sorry it is because you are a lady. So what now? Do you still believe Iran is anit-women?Well for the rape thing yeah cause women have so much respect there that if she blames anything on a man the man would have gotten his punishment even before reaching the authorities so it's actually to save men. and its not three witnesses it is two plus there are tons of rape cases in America that were never solved because the government says that the victims are runaways that lost control of the situation so they never have to face anything. Buddy there stuff like this on the morning news every other day.Yes to cite the stuff just go on Google the women replacing men thing is a well know fact and so it women being discriminated by Walmart. There was actually a movie with a documentary on women who were victims of walmart. Go to any video store and ask for a documentary that showed the reality on walmart. they ought to have it.The only time a women get's stoned is if they have sex before marriage but then the man would be there along side of the lady getting stoned. They are strictly against broken family systems. Face it it ruins a lot of people's lives. Plus there have to be witnesses so it can be proven. But they do not just give up there they try their best to find the truth. Plus no women have been rapped cause if they had been it would be national news for months. Media is always looking for things to make Iran look bad and no Women has come forward in a long time to the press or the government. more

Resolved Question: MRAs talk about "Male Disposability". How much is being done to change the macho culture that sustains it?

I've spent the last week or so reading through Warren Farrells book "The Myth of Male Power", and like much Mens Rights literature, it makes big of the fact that men are treated disposably by society. We are frontline troops in war. Employers fail to enusre out safety. We are violent to one another. We are conditioned to fight to protect. Most of these attitudes are reflected in popular male culture, where its cool to be tough, where only weak men cry, and where men are expected to stand up to hazing in school, in the military and in the workplace. If we are truly to stand up to mens rights, do we perhaps need to start examining how we can really evolve when our idea of toughness is based around meanness and the ability to mete out and withstand violence. If we are to change from violent protectors to emancipated equals, are we going to have to start looking inwards at what it means "to be a man"? Instead of attacking women for evolving beyond submission and compliance with cultural norms, don't we need to start doing the same thing ourselves? more

Resolved Question: Are we all created equal?

The Constitution states that we are all created equal, and that there is liberty and justice for all. So many times I feel these statements are not applied to all people. Many times women and minorities are not treated as equals, still to this day. If we all are supposed equals why are we not treated as such? As a black man that has been born and raised in a very upper-class society I can honestly say that things have been much better for myself, but I am still aware of the biasness in the world, that many do experience. I was just wondering why is this still so prelavant in today's society. more

Resolved Question: Why doesn't anyone care about sexism?

Why does no one care about that? No one cares that Hillary Clinton received such blatant sexism from the media. She was referenced with the word b*tch or b*tchy on three different occasions. They treated her like such crap, and the vitriol towards her is astonishing to me. How can anyone hate someone or two people, including Bill Clinton,so much? It comes not only from the media but from the people. Both Democrats and Republicans, half of Democrats and 90% of Republicans, hate her so much. It's unbelievable.I get that they don't agree with her and think that she a typical politician and things like that, but half these haters display such blatant sexism. Some of it from women, and not young women either. From women who are her age or who are middle aged. It's so disgusting. There is no reason to call her the 'c' word, call her a b*tch, make sexually degrading images of her and post it on the internet, and say such vile things as "she should stay in the kitchen". Of course her haters, who have such incredible hatred for her, would never concede that yet these are the same people that get outraged over a harmless comment that she made about MLK Jr. and Lyndon Johnson When she did point the sexism, people said that she was playing the gender card. No she wasn't. It was perfectly legitimate. It's not just her. Nancy Pelosi,Sarah Palin, and Condoleeza Rice have all been called vile names. I don't like Sarah Palin at all.I think she's highly unintelligent and found her to be disgusting with her attacks on Obama that had nothing to do with the issues, but people on here and elsewhere, some of them women, actually were "concerned" about who's going to raise her children. Um...her husband is there. I was shocked that in 2008,people were actually asking her that question. As if she can't do both. She has done it and would've done it if she became VP. Her job performance would have nothing to do with her being a mom of five. It would have to do with competence, and I don't think she has a lot of it. Thankfully, those type of questions surfaced only early on, and it went away quickly Of course,Palin didn't face nearly as much sexism as Hillary Clinton has faced.Hillary has faced it the minute she became First Lady, and I do remember Palin giving an interview to Newsweek saying that Hillary should complain about it.However, there was a lot of gender bias towards the coverage of these two Women politicians are always held to a higher standard than the male ones.If a woman gets angry or she's tough, she's a b*tch, but if a man does it,it shows leadership. Hillary mocked Obama, which I thought was funny, and she's a b*tch. Obama called her "Annie Oakley" and said that she was "likable enough",he's just being funny It's not just in politics. It's everywhere. It's so vile. I hate how Feminists are painted as man hating b*tches when all we want is equal rights and equal pay. Yes,there are older ones who do seem radical, but they've grown up with that misogyny and sexism. They're just angry, but majority of us are not. We like women who work and have families. That just shows that women can do it all. Our main issue isn't abortion either. I don't care about that as much as I do other things. To the Republicans who answer, please don't give me the usual "Democrats hate women" bullcrap. The right is sooooo guilty of saying disgusting things about her and other Democratic women like Nancy Pelosi. To the Democrats,Democrats are also guilty of saying vile things about Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin@ Clear the disciple,I don't care if people wanted her to be president, but there's no reason for sexism Obvioulsy, people don't think sexism is as serious as racism. It's the same level to me and to other women more

Resolved Question: This question is geared toward the opponents of gay marriage. Why do you think gay marriage is wrong?

This issue has been going on for the longest time. But frankly, it has really hit a high note ever since the vote to pass Proposition 8 in California passed. I've browsed Answers and time and again, I see gays saying over and over, "We're not hurting anyone!" or "Stop the hate!". So many words get lobbed back and forth and it doesn't seem to end. So I'm going to give you a list of just why gay marriage is wrong and why it should be kept illegal and/or unrecognized by the US government. This pretty much sums it up for why gay marriage is wrong. If this doesn't open some eyes, I don't know what will: 1. Homosexuals are seeking a SPECIAL right. They already have the same right to marry as the rest of us have---->the right to marry a person of the OPPOSITE sex. Limiting marriage to one man and one woman doesn't discriminate on the basis of sex or sexual orientation. 2. It denies the self-evident truth of nature that male and female bodies are designed for and complement each other. Opposite-sex marriage is the natural God-designed means by which the human race reproduces. 3. Granting same-sex couples a license to marry will not create a true marriage. Neither two men nor two women can become one flesh in the eyes of God. Licensing the unnatural does not make it natural. It would be a state-sanctioned counterfeit, a sham, and a fraud. A licensed electrician cannot produce power by taping two same-sex plugs together. Homosexual sex is dangerous and destructive to the human body and powerless for human reproduction. 4. Homosexual marriage will always, you hear me, ALWAYS be an abomination to God regardless of whether a clergyman performs the ceremony or not. When God calls something unholy, man cannot make it holy or bless it. 5. Homosexual marriage is as wrong as giving a man a license to marry his mother or daughter or sister or a group. 6. Homosexual marriage will harm children by denying them the love and nurture of a mom AND a dad. The only "procreation" homosexuals can engage in requires that a third party must be brought into the relationship. Gays insist that it doesn't hurt anyone. But who it hurts the most is the children! By raising children up in such an environment, it offsets the balance that a mother and a father provide. This in turn leads them to believe that it is normal for a guy to like another guy. This in turn will lead to ridicule as they progress in life. 7. Granting a marriage license to homosexuals because they engage in sex is as illogical as granting a medical license to a barber because he wears a white coat, or a law license to a salesman because he carries a briefcase. Real doctors, lawyers and the public would suffer as a result of licensing the unqualified and granting them rights, benefits and responsibilities as if they were qualified. 8. Homosexual marriage will DEVALUE your marriage. A license to marry is a legal document by which government will treat same-sex marriage as if it were equal to the real thing. A license speaks for the government and will tell society that government says the marriages are equal. Any time a lesser thing is made equal to a greater, the greater is devalued. For example: A. If the Smithsonian Museum displays a hunk of polished blue glass next to the Hope Diamond with a sign that says, "These are of equal value," and treats them as if they were, the Hope Diamond is devalued in the public's eye. The government says it's just expensive blue glass. The history and mystery are lost too. Get it? B. If an employer uses a robot as an employee and treats the robot the same way it treats human employees, human employees are devalued. By doing so, the employer says, "A robot can do your job, you're no better." What will you and the public think of your job and you? C. If the government issues a license to babysitters that grants them the same rights, protections and responsibilities as a child's parents, parenthood is devalued. The government is basically saying that parents are just babysitters. D. If government grants professional licenses to just anybody, every profession and qualified professional is devalued. The government would be saying that an uneducated panhandler can do brain surgery. 9. The assumption by many is that marriage is just two people with a license who have sex and wear rings. Homosexuals do that, why not give them the license? Because engaging in sex doesn't equal marriage. Adults involved in incest have sex too; should government call it marriage and license them? Certainly NOT! The biggest problem we have in getting people, especially younger ones, to understand why marriage is devalued by the existence of a counterfeit is that much of the public does not value marriage at all these days. Adultery is no big deal (sarcasm). Divorce is tolerated because so many married couples can't hold true to their vows. Absentee fathers and mothers devalue marriage. Unmarried pregnancies are common. F(I ran out of space apparently so here is the rest of it) Fornication is "normal." When we make the case against homosexual marriage, we need to speak against these other problems that devalue marriage as well. As we acknowledge these problems we can emphasize that legalizing homosexual marriage will compound the problems, not solve or lessen them. So yeah, it IS my right and every other opponent of gay marriage's right to fight for the sanctity of what marriage truly is. Most homosexuals feign ignorance that God loves all. But it is clearly stated in the bible that God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. more

Resolved Question: Why do the gays persistently feel that they have to fight Prop 8?

They fight it saying they should have the right to marry and it's discrimination. It's not about discrimination. It's about right or wrong. It's more of a moral issue and a religion issue then it is for discrimination. Like I understand it's very complicated and not so simple when it comes to the court because the 14th amendment which is the Civil Rights Amendment comes to this issue. That amendment goes with the segregation- what Martin Luther King Jr. made a speech about with blacks and whites being treated equal and everyone in general. But this issue isn't about being treated equally and their certain rights. Of course, I am all for Prop 8 but the gays can do whatever they want behind closed doors- they have that right. But they shouldn't be trying to change the original marriage vows that says one man and one woman. And I hate the hate crimes against gays. That's just wrong. And I disagree with people that say gays are going to hell. I think that is up to God and whether or not they have given their life to Christ. With adoption, I believe that a child derserves one father and one mother. But in this time, it isn't as simple as that. With single parents and such. But if a gay couple goes into an adoption agency and got turned down, they would say that is discrimination. But if a single person goes in there and got turned down, wouldn't they say that it is discrimination? Now, I think gay marriage will one day be legalized everywhere. Once that happens then other people will be trying to fight for the right to legally marry multiple people and then trying to fight the right to marry their relatives like a brother and sister getting married. Of course, I am very strongly for Prop 8. I don't want to see my 5-year old going to school then coming home from school learning that a man can marry a man. I would feel very offended by that and outraged.  more

Resolved Question: Do You Feel that Feminists Go Overboard?

It is true that feminists are against female oppression and want rights for women, but sometimes do you think they go over the top where they begin to put men down and oppress them? If women want to be treated equally, should they not treat men fairly too? I feel it's gotten to the point where some women want to be treated even better than men, and become FEMALE chauvinists. This isn't fair because now they're doing to men what's been done to them. What's your take on this? And do you really think there should be a category called "Women's Studies"? If women really want to be considered equal, there should either be a "Men's Studies" category, or women should just be included in "Gender Studies". more

Resolved Question: Sexism. Have the roles reversed (slightly)?

Back in the day, women were treated unjustly of being incompetent and unworthy; be that for careers or social status. Thanks in large to feminist organizations and influential characters, alot (if not all) of that has been dissolved. Woman have equal (if not greater) opportunites at careers. The stay-at-home mom is now a choice, not a commitment of being a parent. But I'm afraid that in our desire to balance the table we may have overlooked the male side. Like I said, businesses are often looking for female employees in an effort to better balance their corporation. Although this is viewed is ridding the country of sexism, it also offers females an advantage when it comes to employment in the here and now. In the media, women are portrayed as sex symbols, but also as intelligent. How many times do you see a man the butt of a joke insulting his intelligence in a commercial or tv show? In the media? There are women activist groups. As far as I can tell, there aren't any men activist groups. Or atleast, they get no attention. The most prevalent cancer charities are breast cancer charities. Breast cancer is the third deadliest cancer in the US (after lung and colon). Prostate is fourth, with ovarian rounding out the top 5. Breast cancer research raises more money than the other 4 combined (excluding cigarette awareness ads) and over 10 times as much as prostate cancer. There are marches and events in the name of breast cancer. Prostate events are few and get little attention. Two weeks ago, my local hospital created department of women's health stating that "research has shown that when women are healthy, society is healthy". Yeah, except for the other 50%. Women's studies is now a course you can take. While I support learning more about a woman's role in our history, science, and politics, it should be taught in those classes and not in a seperate class devoted entirely to women. It seems that if a man stands up for men, they are seen as sexist. If a woman stands up for women, they are a hero. Don't get me wrong, their are sexists out there, both male and female. But most are at the extreme ranges of anti-feminism and pro-feminism. I am only giving the male perspective. There is a female perspective that I'm sure is very different from mine. Also, there will be many men who don't agree with me. Either my views are wrong or their views have been influenced by today's supposed pro-equality society and values. I'd love to hear any side. I apologize for the typos. Got through it pretty fast.To both Donna and Marx - It's easier to blame the wage "gap" on sexism than it is to say women on average work at lower paying jobs than their male counterparts. When you look at a woman's pay in regards to the field they're in compared to a man's, it is more or less equal. People seem to have a problem with the numbers and manipulate them to argue their point. Women, on average, make less than males when considering every job lumped into one. When considering individual jobs, that is not the case.To Donna - Just like I don't support reparations to African American's for a past wrong-doing, I don't support reparations for women for a past wrong-doing. I have not committed an act against women. I support equality (the real definition of equality, not the one that many people believe implies revenge for women). To Merry - Where I'm from, the government has stipulated that if a man and a woman have equal or near equal qualifications, the woman will be selected for the job. When a man stands up for men like i have in this post. I'm glad that i have not been labeled that way as of yet.Perhaps there should be no women or men activists groups, and merely a group aimed at equality. Feminists are not that group. more

Voting Question: Please Help me edit and revise. ?

They say women and men are equal. But that wasn’t the case until Emily Murphy stood up for the women’s rights. Women face inequality and were often underestimated in the work place. Emily was the reason that women had a right to a property. She was persevering and did countless things to give women what they were worth. A lawyer questioned Emily Murphy’s right to judge because of her gender. He believed that no woman was a “person” in the eyes of the law. Emily and her supporters, known as the Famous Five, decided to petition the prime minister . They asked if women, were qualified as “persons” to qualify for appointment in the Senate . The Supreme Court declared that women were not “persons” qualified. The Famous Five were devastated but they did not surrender. They turned their case to the Privy Council in Britain. Three months later, Emily won her case. The Privy Council declared that “persons” were referred to both men and women. Women made up 20 per cent of the workforce in the 1920's. They worked as domestic servants, secretaries, sales clerks or factory workers. Tasks that are supposed to be the women’s job were considered less valuable than the work of men. This meant that their salary were lower than of men. Women from the minority groups experienced harder trials. Only a few end up gaining a degree in law or medicine. They faced inequality. In the eyes of men, women were not as good, but things were bound to change. One Afternoon, Emily Murphy came across an agitated woman. She claimed that her husband sold their property and left without giving her any share of the profit. Women didn’t have any property rights back then. Men were in charged of the deed and could do anything with the land with out having their wive’s compliance. They could keep the profits made without giving their spouse any share. Emily was determined to change that law. She won the fight in 1911 and the Dowry Act was passed by Alberta. Women get one-third share of their husbands’ property. Emily Murphy believed that women deserved more than how they were treated. She knew that women had as much rights as men. They can do as well, or even better, than them. She fought not only for her rights but for all women. She is one of the aspiring Canadians who changed Canadians for the better. She proved that men and women are indeed equal.i also need a concluding sentence for paragraph 2 and 4. more

Resolved Question: is this a good essay? please help!!!!!!!?

okay so be truthfull and tell me what to change/add. the most details will get the best answer. thankkks :] What freedom means to me Freedom means a lot to me. Without freedom we wouldn’t be able to vote on decisions that effect our lives. We vote to choose our leader, which some other countries are not aloud to do. Also, without freedom, women would not have the same rights that men have and we would not be treated equal. We would not be able to vote, drive, get a good education, and get a job. Freedom also means that I have the right to control my life and what I do. I can make my own decisions. In some countries people are forced to do things like marry, or join the army. In America we all have choices and rights that no one can take away from us. Freedom of speech is a really important part of freedom. We can say what we believe is right without getting punished for it. I am glad Americans have that right because I think that everyone should be able to say what they think. Equality is a part of freedom too. It has to do with freedom because you have the same rights as everyone else, no matter what race or gender you are.. Freedom is one of the most important things in the United States that most countries do not have.  more

Resolved Question: When will genetic differences be recognized for what they are, reality?

Why is it so difficult and when do you think society will be able to accept that all men/women are NOT created equal and should be treated as such. I don't mean people should be treated badly or be outcast in any way. For instance education systems should be adjusting accordingly etc There is more than enough Scientific Evidence to prove this. It seems that predefined social beliefs have and impact on this and huge attempts are made not to step on any ones toes. Genetics set a limit to our capability to participate in certain tasks whether they are mental or physical. No matter how hard I train I'll never be physically capable of playing in the NFL. No matter how hard someone might try at School they may never get a PHD in Mathematics. Why, when two athletes that go through exactly the same training routine, one comes out on top. Genetically more adept to certain physical activity? Why, when one student attends exactly the same classes as another one gets A's and the other fails. Genetically not adept for completing certain mental challenges? This is a scientific/social science question answer it as such please, no KKK or Black Panther members please. Absolutely agree that hard work plays a factor but for some the hard work never pays off, for every successful sports man who worked his backside off and succeded there are 1000 that failed. And Larry Bird wasn't just a lanky white guy I know a lot of lanky white guys who think they can ball but they suck. He had talent or the genes depending how you look at it. I'm not talking differences between sexes either here just genetics in general. more

I know that we still have women rights groups and feminist fighting for female rights because even though it is 2008 men still feel that women should not be treated equal. Resolved Question: Don't you just hate feminists? ?

Like they claim to fight for men and women being equal, but treat men like they're stupid mindless trash and think of themselves as more intelligent than men. Say you open a door for one: they say something rude like "oh you think I can't open a door myself? Chauvinist male!" when you're simply trying to be polite. I dislike feminists because they are rude and believe that women could somehow single handedly control the whole Universe as long as men had no political power. They also argue that history favours only men. I have nothing against expressive women: I think it's great that women are continuing to break away from the traditionalist values that used to bind them. It's just feminists that annoy me because they treat men as if they're inferior rudely but very subtly. What do you think?  more

Resolved Question: is feminism Really feminism today?

Feminism is the the act of trying to obtain equal rights for both men and women on the work front and the domestic front. with that being said do you think that feminism today has now shifted and become more focused on woman exploiting men. You see it all the time, mothers seem to be teaching their daughters to hate men and have the attitude that if he doesn't treat you like a complete princess hes trash. Also i think because feminism and shows like sex and the city and the hills seem to be going hand in hand by portraying "strong women" who aren't afraid of what they want are giving off unrealistic expectations of men. All the men in these shows are essentially treated like meat. (i know its ironic that men have treated women like that forever). They seem to all want a model handsome, rich, charismatic husband with a great job and even greater personality. and if they can't find it they say they won't settle until they do Im not generalizing and saying this is all women at all so don't take offense. Also I completely agree that women should have all the same rights as men. more

Resolved Question: Does Islam Consider Women Inferior to Men?

Islam considers men and women equal. Anyone who thinks that Islam gives an inferior position to women does not know Islam. It is true that in some Muslim communities women are treated as if they were inferior, but this is due to local tradition, which may be inherited or imported from local or neighboring culture. Unfortunately people associate this with Islam, but Islam has nothing to do with it more
