Women Equal Pay Acts Questions asked
Open Question: I am a minor, and do not make min. Wage?
I work at hy-vee as a bagger, I make $7.25 an hour. The state min, wage is 7.75 an hour going up to 8.00 and hour today, the last time i got my paycheck my min wage listed was 7.25 okay i went to my state DOL website and it states The Equal Pay Act prohibits employers with four or more employees from paying unequal wages to men and women for doing the same or substantially similar work, requiring equal skill, effort, and responsibility, under similar working conditions for the same employer in the same county, except if the wage difference is based upon a seniority system, a merit system, a system measuring earnings by quantity or quality of production, or factors other than gender. ok so i do the same ammount work as other baggers that are older then me. so since it does not mention age, i think hy-vee is violating this law. So If i worked 20 hours a week, one month at 7.25 i would have made 580 dollars, but if i was supposed to make 7.75 that is 40 dollars less a month, which after 1 year of working there is a loss of 480 dollars. so what should i do? i think it should call the idol and file a complaint, and if it is true, should sue my company for financial loss moreResolved Question: What do you think of this article? Women, I understand that we need rights, but lets choose wisely....?
Women are protected during pregnancy. That is how it should be. This rule of "segregation" is to protect your child. Its not about the woman. I am all about equal rights and wish I got paid what my male co-workers get paid. But complaining about them protecting your pregnancy your baby. Suing for this is ridiculous! Do you agree? WASHINGTON (UPI) -- The U.S. Justice Department and the Bryan County, Okla., Sheriff's Department reached a settlement in a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit, the department said. The complaint alleged the sheriff engaged in employment discrimination against women by requiring the reassignment of female officers working in the jail to administrative duties when they were pregnant, violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the U.S. Justice Department said Wednesday in a news release. Title VII prohibits discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion or sex, including pregnancy. The consent decree, which still needs court approval, bars the sheriff from discriminating against any employee or applicant of the Bryan County Sheriff's Office, including the jail, on the basis of sex and pregnancy, the Justice Department said. The consent decree also requires the sheriff to implement a policy prohibiting employment discrimination on the basis of pregnancy and to provide mandatory training on the policy. Opinions?Roger, then why does it still occur?J, then why are women get paid less than men? Holly, not all women are in the same boat as you. moreResolved Question: Would these methods help reduce poverty in the US?
Please read them all. I know it's a lot. Would these methods help reduce poverty in the US? Why or why not? 1. Start teaching economics in 5th grade in high poverty/working class schools. 2. Make sure schools spend the $ on students not superfluous things such as giant pools, extended parking lots, new administration buildings (while school itself is in horrible condition), private jets for superintendents, and staff meetings in Orlando in luxurious hotels. 3. Make sure all high poverty schools have at least 2 counselors. 4. Crack down on drug addicts in the middle-upper class suburbs. Majority of meth, crack, and heroin users are middle-upper class Whites, but instead of prisons focus on counseling. 5. Spend more money on education for the poor than on prisons. More $ means less dropouts, and less drug dealers. It really isn't about more $ actually, but re-designing the school system, using the $ already there in a better way. 6. Copy Finland's policy. Any student who does not go to college or military is mandated to do 2 years of trade school. They can do 2 years of electrical work or 1 yr. of beauty school, 1 yr. of electrical work, etc. In Finland this has created an extremely low unemployment rate, an almost non-existent crime rate, and plenty of plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc. who can support a family. 7. Crack down on unequal housing. Real estate companies who charge Black and Hispanic families more for a house than Whites. 8. Give cities grants to knock down abandoned buildings/homes and place in green areas, gardens, playgrounds, etc. Up to community to upkeep the grounds. 9. Teach in all schools about environmentalism and how to save energy (saves $). 10. Crack down on loan sharks. 11. Start paying back African-Americans reparations. Let the Black community decide how to use the money. 12. Start paying back women reparations, more going to Black women as they are paid the least in unequal pay. Since 1984-2005 due to unequal pay women are owed $300 billion dollars. 13. Sign the 1923 Equal Employment act and crack down on businesses who give unequal pay to women. 14. Start paying more attention to rural poverty. Not everyone is college material. I think trade schools should open again : )Sam: a White high school graduate male makes more money than a Black male with a bachelor's degree. Yes, people need to stop living above their means. We brought this poor economy upon ourselves.I forgot to mention any reparations would not be payed by tax payers. Also, the US govt has given reparations to Asian Americans and Native Americans. Why not African Americans and Women?Witchy. Absolutely loved reading your answers. As a teacher, I know exactly what you mean. I believe in holding students back if they have not learned the basics. I believe we also need to not put highly disruptive/violent children in the classroom (such as chair throwers) in the room with other children. They literally scare the other kids. We also need to fire teachers who sit in rubber rooms, the ones who have committed a crime. I feel the teachers' union is far too strong and no longer about the kids. Anyway, your reply was very informative.Reparations to Black people would be not just about slavery. However, you brought up a good pt. What about Black people who just came here from Africa? There are a lot of Africans in my neighborhood. and more. moreResolved Question: Why does it always take someone directly attacking a conservative in a sexist manner for them to ...?
even suddenly admit that SEXISM EXISTS? Letterman cracked a truly disgusting sexist, misogynist joke about Sarah Palin's daugther being "knocked up" by Alex Rodriguez (http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2009/06/09/letterman-attacks-sarah-palins-slutty-flight-attendant-look ). Any feminist would condemn it and many have condemned it. I simply wonder why cons point fingers at liberals, who work very hard on the ground CONSTANTLY against things like sexism, racism, and other social oppressions, even dealing (in the case of abortion supporters) with harassment and frickin' domestic terrorism against abortion providers BY CONSERVATIVES, working constantly through organizations like NOW to keep women safe from domestic violence and rape ... Why cons are acting like *liberals* are somehow the cause of the problem and "don't really condemn sexism and racism" just because they didn't make a big uproar this one time over this one conservative woman who was attacked? Because, as you know, all the OTHER thousands of women attacked in similar ways every day in the media and in person don't count. In fact, cons help CONTRIBUTE to a sexist society through their delusions that everyone is "always already equal" and "nobody needs affirmative action - we're already equal! Oh, except raping women is pretty funny, but not our daughter. Ha ha." I could name a zillion detailed examples of conservatives - Bill O'Reilly himself, for one - making light of domestic violence and even blaming rape victims for their own rapes. Palin presided over an extremely misogynist law in Alaska forcing rape victims to PAY for their own RAPE KITS. Suddenly, the anti-choice cons care about sexism in the broader patriarchal society only when it affects THEIR daughter - sort of like how THEIR daughter's teen pregnancy and THEIR daughter's CHOICE is OK, but other women shouldn't have a choice. Is this not the biggest load? moreResolved Question: US HIST STUDYGUIDE questions Please please help? PLEASE?

At this time, I would need to bore you with a question about value of life and I do need real information from u all friends about USA because only u are the trustable source to search true information. Living in my country, I’ve just always felt under pressure and can’t find myself. 1-Women here are inferior to men. 2-People are jealous, closed mind, and discrimination, especially on women—women to women, men criticize women, but this never happen on men. Example, 2 friends—male and female, they are just friends no more than this-- walk together home from school. The girl will be negatively stereotyped as an easy, odd, not casual and not good to look by the eyes of neighbors. Why people here love to prejudge other people’s way of doing? Why people here love to act as they are the ones having duty to judge someone is good or bad? Why do they judge by just a part of seeing rather than use their brain to think deeply? They love to be involved in negative judgment, but keep mouse silence for advantage of someone. That’s why, women here are passive. Women here are always afraid of being negatively prejudged by neighbors for what she does. So women here do things that neighbor would value rather than do by her personality. It seems women here are just like artists who need to perform well for the eyes of audiences. She is not her. 3-The older have power on the younger. Example, in class, students respect their teacher out of duty. They respect their teacher as second parents. When teacher says something is right or wrong, they obey and follow. Students are afraid to ask or ask many questions unless the teacher asks students to ask questions. Another example about between relatives. A nice or nephew can’t protest his or her aunt or uncle—by tradition—in an equivalent manner. The younger complain only in a lower manner, manner of respecting. If the nice or nephew complain by equivalent manner, it means that the child is unrespectful to the older= cruel= uneducated by parents= too low social class family race. So in real situation here, sometimes, youngers are pressured to get fault because the older can not loose face by recognizing their—older—fault. It is hard for younger to complain with the older because we have a system of respectful to the older. But I think it is unreasonable and communist. I must have equal right to complain with the older. 4-The law here is untrustable. For example about the beauty shop. After a period of treatment to beauty skin of customers, the result becomes worse. In this situation the customer becomes a victim with no response from the shop and the law can’t go to. When someone have a cool and go to by medicine, the medicine seller doen’t guide how many days the patient should need to have medicine but instead the seller asks the patient, “How many day u want to have medicine?” In hospital, doctors don’t care about their schedule to care patients but instead the doctors expect the patients’ relatives to remember what are the treatment that the patient have been provided. 5-Women here are well protected in order not to make mistakes. The statement sounds like women are so luck here but if u look deeply at it, u will see that it makes women become passive, are limited and closed her brain and freedom from all of her action in the society. Why? Why by tradition women are afraid of having mistakes while men can experience freely in the society? Is there any one can walk without passing many fall down? If women are kept to stay in one place because of afraid of making mistakes, can she develop herself? Women here are regarded as white paper while men are regarded as gold. After spoiling, goal remain goal but the white paper can’t be cured. Unreasonable statement. Why people follow unreasonable thing? Why people dare not to complain and make a change to make a better statement? These are just some small part of dark life in here, there are still manyyyyyyyy more. Living here makes me feel uncomfortable and meaningless. Everything seems up side down. I have heard some about USA and I want to better my life there, but I am still not sure whether what I have heard about USA is true or just fake. By asking many people who are studying and living in USA, they say 90% in USA is plus. The US government provides value to life of all people. They also say situations in USA is totally opposite to here. No class system, no discrimination, equal right between men and women, women are not passive as women here because women in USA can do as what men can. They also say, “if u work hard, your life here is much more wonderful to compare to here.” I value hard working because only work hard can pay for good futur, but I still doubt about the meaning of hard working in USA. Does it means work till the person’s energy fall down to zero? The expenses in USA is very high, so the meaning should be like this? If so, I don’t people can have happiness. But perh moreResolved Question: us history someone please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Screwing up usually means a woman is being selfish and hindering the group, some reasons for this hinderance are but not limited to: Calling in sick (when are not sick) Slow. Not prioritizing well. Goofing off at crucial times. Asking for help constantly. Leaving in the middle of the day for personal issues. Bitching and being proud of it. (????????????????) Late to meetings. Sub par performance. So when men piont the above issues out, since women say that we are equals, I find that women often say: "Be Nice." when they are not acting as an equal. How are men not nice by telling the truth? Then logically lies would be nice. You want to be respected and paid as an equal but then slack and be nasty and a burden to men at work. Work is the most important way men contribute to society. And ladies these days you are not all that great at raising children either. In fact, if you face the truth men are doing far better on the home front than they were and are still doing well at work. Look at the evidence that single fathers are often better than single mothers at raising children. I know some women are talented at some things however men are more often better at most things when they apply effort. The best individual in a given field is a man. Very few times this rule is broken. And most importantly the most powerful positions are all held by men with the support of women. President Obama and Hilary Clinton. Besides actually giving birth, In general, how are women useful? Oh well at least we dont have to marry you ladies. moreResolved Question: Is the concept of sexual equality overrated?
What do you ladies and gentlemen think about sexual equality? Where along the line did each sex have to be equal? From an evolutionary perspective, one sex isn't necessarily any "better" than another. Obviously males are superior in physical strength, but females are superior in aesthetic features and can easily manipulate a man through exploitation of his sexual instinct. What I'm trying to say is that each sex has it's own function. It's not like there's one dominant sex and the other is just an extra. Both are required for the success of mankind. The function of a female is to seduce males (most capable of survival- aka bad boys or dominant men) using her aesthetic quality. Most of the time it works, doesn't it? We may act like we don't have interest in you, but our erect penises never lie. The function of a male is to wipe out his competition (in the ancient times, they'd literally fight to death) then become an alpha male, which attracts mass women. Then impregnate them all so that his "better" genes would keep the human race here today. Now I personally believe that women SHOULD be respected and political equality should be emphasized (rights, equal pay), but by no means do I think each sex should be completely equal. Ether way, a woman doesn't want to pay for a date or dinner and a man doesn't want to look weak by letting her pay. We often try to separate ourselves from our primitive ancestors. I believe that if we do, it'll be the doom of our kind. Evolution has been able to keep up thus far, but with the rapid changes in society, our "intellect" may overpower our natural ability to survive.Misha, thank you for the comment. Oh, and I'm actually dating the hottest chick on my campus, if you're willing to believe it.Modern facts: -Women prefer assholes over nerds. (dominance) -Men prefer voluptuous women over fat/skinny (curvy women are obviously healthier) -As I already stated, the physical differences between each sex can't be any more obvious. -Men reach their sexual prime at around 17 so that they'll be able to prepare for any competition that may get in the way of engaging with their mate. -Women reach their sexual prime at around 30 when their eggs begin to die off. 1.Step 1: A civil rights need is born For complex historical reasons beyond the scope of this article, a civil rights need is identified on behalf of a group. The pendulum effect is viewed as bipolarity between two groups. With the group on the left deemed as being the oppressed group and the group in the right as being the oppressors. The relationship may be between women and men, blacks and whites or homosexuals and heterosexuals. 2.Step 2: The legitimate phase of the movement The oppressed group does indeed suffer from legitimate grievances. They become aware of the need to change their standing and push the pendulum of equal rights with their actions, to correct these grievances and to improve their image in the zeitgeist. They face some resistance from either side, but they also face a lot of support from the oppressor side, who truly emphasises with their plight. This is the legitimate stage of the movement as the oppressed side gains the rights that they clearly should have. Luminaries of the men’s right movement such as Glenn Sacks and Warren Farrell freely admit that there are genuine gains that feminism has achieved, things such as legislation that codifies the right to equal pay such as the equal pay act of 1963 in the U.S. and 1970 in the U.K., the right to own property and to object to genuinely misogynistic attitudes as can be seen in the old style advertisements and public service announcements. I agree with this attitude personally. There is no such thing as a civil rights movement that has done no good. This is the legitimate and honourable stage of the movement. The pendulum is even. 3.Step 3: The illegitimate phase of the movement The transition between this step and the last is hard to identify as the oppressed group transitions from generally doing good to doing bad. The oppressed group now has a respected and powerful lobby acting on its behalf that can affect the law, at this point no reasonable person could describe the group as being “oppressed” anymore, but the movement has turned into an industry of grievance mining, looking under every rock for signs of oppression and slights. It is important to emphasise the members of the group are not lying to keep up the appearance if being oppressed, they truly believe it, but they are in too deep and lack the ability to holistically view the progress that their group has made, to take “yes” for an answer. The “oppressions” that their group supposedly suffers become more and more academic and created out of whole cloth. The goals of the group come more from the radical activist members, who mostly reside in academia. Issues that they choose to fight for include things such as redefining language, redefining history, redefining their definition of oppression and re-characterising the successes of the movement into further examples of oppression. A prime example of manufacturing problems is to me, one of the most reprehensible aspects of modern feminism. This is where feminism has achieved a world where women have no less opportunity than men, can take any degree they want to and choose their own career. And then when women do not flock to careers that feminists want them to, they cites this as proof of work that still needs to be done for women’s rights. I think that women who feel empowered to enter the fields they want to enter means that the work of women’s rights is mostly done. To spin the liberation of women into an attempt to further victimise them is a disgusting act that is to spit in the eye of the good achievements that feminism has made. The worst effect of this illegitimate phase of the movement is to brainwash the younger members of the group into hating men. The feminists have already refined history and distorted the facts to where, as a feminist said in an email to me, half of women are raped and the fraction of feminist haters dwindles in comparison to the number of men who hate women. Yeah, we sure are terrible. None of this has any relation to the truth but what is to be the expected outcome if a young woman is told that men as such beasts? I’ll tell you the outcome because I saw it firsthand when I graduated in 2005. The young women I went to university with were angry, they were petulant and a hostile and felt the need to partake in constant belittling comments and man bashing. With an angry youth, the road is paved to the next step. 4.Step 4: The oppression of the oppressors The discourse has become one sided. The feminists are seen as the authorities in the problem of equality as the status quo is viewed as being sexist and thus un-needing of representation. The feminists are now running a dictatorship of opinion and with a background noise of resentment and manufactured oppressions they start to act in a very hypocritical way. The true idea of equality has been lost, they have a new definition of the word. Equality of outcome. Sameness. It appears that women want to have all of the things that men have, including an equal number of upper management jobs. Why is it that they only choose the good things and not the bad things? Here is what they will need to do to gain equality: Commit suicide at 4-5 times their current rate. Men are way ahead in this area so women will need to step up their act if they want to be equal. Find guys who have fallen on hard times, are unemployed, and need someone to give them a break, a house, a new job opportunity etc. Currently only men "rescue" women, and not the other way around. When I fall on hard times and some woman comes and pays for everything and sets up a new job for me, etc, I will consider your application for equality. Quit your cozy little "customer service" jobs and go work in a coal mine doing hard labour all day rather than updating your status on facebook while the boss isn't looking. Spend your days asking men out and being rejected in an unpolite fashion. Work while the men sit at home playing with the kids. Work much longer than you are now. Currently men work almost twice as many hours as women (not including housework). We will clean the sink while you work in the pressure cooker corporate landscape engaging in highstakes mergers. Romeo & Juliet Essay: The Maiden in Modern Society Juliet Capulet, from Shakespeare’s play Romeo & Juliet, and Ariel, from The Little Mermaid, have many things in common. They each have relevance in our modern day society and they can each model for and teach our children in different ways. These two women can show our children, little girls especially, how they shouldn’t act as young women. Juliet is a perfect example of the classic woman; soft-spoken, demure, obedient, young, virginal, sweet, and beautiful. She is bound to obey her parents, but more importantly her father. She is relatively happy in this situation because most young women at that time were simply natural-born happy, domesticated homemakers who hung in a state of suspended animation until a man – typically upper-class, white and handsome – comes and takes them away. By simply taking the abusive ignorance of her father, she continues to allow his control over her life. It was typical in that day in age for a father to pawn off his daughter, marry her to someone with a higher social rank than their own, in order to bring honor to his family. But, as a young woman, Juliet should have stepped back and realized her own intelligence, strength and her ability to be independent rather than letting her father dictate her life. When she finally takes her first steps towards independence as a woman, she walks straight into the clutches of another man who will control her life – Romeo. Typically, the marriage ceremony signifies that the woman was nothing more than a possession being passed from her father over to her husband. In Act III, Juliet speaks of her new husband, Romeo, saying, “Shall I speak ill of him that is my husband? Ah, poor my lord, what tongue shall smooth thy name, when I, thy three hours wife, have mangled it? But, wherefore, villain, didst thou kill my cousin? That villain cousin would have kill'd my husband”. She has so soon become deeply attached to Romeo that she is willing to turn her back on her family, her own kinsman, Tybalt. She gives him nary a thought, deciding quickly that her loyalty lies with Romeo over Tybalt, calling him a villain. Being passed off in marriage this way, changing her alliances so severely, is a hard thing to do. This limits the feelings of personal worth in a young woman and can make anyone feel weaker and in our modern society, the equality between men and women is stressed quite often. By allowing herself to be simply passed off as if she were no more than an item to be traded with, Juliet is losing her place in society. Men rule in the world of a patriarchal society, making it difficult for a woman to speak her mind or be treated as an equal. The white male society is dominated by males, mainly upper-class, and really affects young women. Age and gender truly can set you at a disadvantage if you’re a young, innocent woman. As for me, I’m a fifteen-year-old woman and I am somewhat affected by the white male society, but obviously not as much as poor Juliet had been. It’s difficult for me to be taken seriously as a competitor in athletics, academics or even when applying for jobs out in the real world – many parts of the world, as well as some areas of our own country, don’t hire women and if they do, the pay is much less for women than men, even when they hold the same job. Some people truly believe that men are superior to women and Juliet’s weak acceptance of her father’s demands shows a lack of strength and moral character. In my opinion, Juliet is not a very good example for young girls today to follow because so much has changed from Juliet’s time to now; men and women are considered to be equal and women don't need to be 'the weaker sex' anymore. moreResolved Question: Christians who say morality in the US is on the decline?

THAT ARGUMENT HAS ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED DOWN BELOW. USE A LOGICAL ARGUMENT, IDIOT: Women always try to get men to pay for a first date because they think this is part of chivalry. But we also know that women feel they are "equal" to men, based upon Feminism. So then why do women complain when they have to pay for dates? They should have to pay for their own meals, buy their own diamond rings, etc. Since women want to be equal to men, they should put their money where there mouth is and stop complaining about having to pay for anything. You can't be a 'strong, independent' woman and depend on a man for anything. That's hypocrisy. Also women make the stupid argument that whoever asks out should do the paying. What complete morons. We all know that men ask women out because that's basic biology. If we used that stupid criteria, we should be able to say whoever is the strongest person for the job gets the job. But women would throw a FIT if they couldn't get into the fire dept. or police dept. And we all know that the state lowers the standards just so they can get women into jobs they don't deserve. Men obviously do much better in testing for those jobs. But women have whined about men taking advantage of their natural abilities. But when men also say women are taking advantage of their natural advantage by saying that whoever asks should pay, suddenly women don't care about "fair" play like they CLAIM. It's funny how women point to "gentlemen" as a "traditional" role men should play, but these same stupid b|tches suddenly have problems when we tell them to act like a lady and play their traditional role. Suddenly they say they are "strong and independent" and don't have to follow stereotypes. Yet these same stupid b|tches have no problem applying stereotypes to men like having them pay for their stuff. This shows that women are just babies that lie about being "independent". Women are too stupid to know what real independence is. Women only care about getting SPECIAL PRIVILEGES. not EQUAL RIGHTS. So "whoever asks out first should pay" is a hypocritical argument that doesn't work. You have to be pretty stupid not to understand that. oh, and for those of you morons who say i'm "stereotyping" or being unfair when i'm addressing this to women, here's a newsflash: most of the replies have been by idiot women who didn't read and simply put "the guy should pay" without giving a reason. this just PROVES women are idiots and don't think before they speak. i've saved all the replies and there are hundreds of them. mostly just idiot girls saying "guy should pay" with no reason at all. or "guy should pay because whoever asks should pay".. again, too stupid to even understand the hypocrisy of that childish argument. Manhood101.com explains why women are too dumb to understand the concept of equality. moreResolved Question: Do guys treat girls better when they find more attractive? Tell me what you think about my situation!!?
I have a friend who is from another country so sometimes he saids weird things that annoy me. The thing is that I feel like he treats me so nice when I guess he started to have a crush on me because I got in shape...etc Ok my point is that I recently hung out with him and I have gain some weight from the last time I saw him. We've been friends for so long and I think its stupid when he makes remarks on how I should act more demure, ladylike ( remember he's from another country), how I shouldn't wear black nail polish, not bob my head to "gangsta music". Wtf do you care, you're my friend! I'm not your girl and I don't agree w/ how your culture makes woman out to be submissive to the man! wtf I was born here and believe that women are equal to men! Anyways so I looked like craap when we hung out recently and I notice he treated me differently. Like he didn't offer to pay like he use to ( I never let him even if he does because I don't want him to get the wrong msg) and he said " why do you look so messy you were prepare last time we hung out!" Uh ok that sounded stupid...that pissed me off because that shoudn't matter if you really perceived me as a friend. And when he dropped me off, he didn't even wait for me to get in the house like he did last time when I looked good to him, which is gross and pisses me off since I've known him forever. How mess up is that? I feel guys only treat girls like princesses when they find them attractive? moreVoting Question: How come they use the average male to female wage to decide who is being underpaud?
What if a man is being underpaid, he has no chance of earning more, because on average his gender earns more. But now he's getting paid less then he's worht, women are getting paid equal to men, so what should he do???????????? (*due to equal pay acts)What I'm effectively asking is, why compare women to men, why not just compare everyone to the single person who is earning the most. That way no-one gets discriminated against.??? moreResolved Question: Is the solution to equal pay acts, to only hire women?
That way they have no man to compare themself and sue the company through?? moreResolved Question: Why do anti-feminists have so little faith in equal rights?
When I hear people complaining about unequal laws in the US, I just think it's their own fault for not passing the ERA. But it amazes me that people complain of unequal rights in the UK. We passed very clear and explicit gender protection laws with the Equal Pay Act and the Sex Discrimination Act way back in the 1970s. This is why we have never had affirmative action for women, never had different sentencing guidelines, never had more grammar school places for girls than for boys (even though girls do better on the exams). Women cannot be given extra help in the UK, even if we wanted to - which I don't think we do. Even during the second world war, all single women between the ages of 20 and 30 were conscripted, and with today's equal rights legislation, it would be extraordinarily difficult to call for a draft that only applied to men and not women. I have great faith in the UK's equal rights legislation - but why don't anti-feminists? :-)keypoint - the Equalities Bill allows for affirmative action for men as well - ie, teachers, etc. I don't agree with it, but I can see it's equal :-) moreResolved Question: If women REALLY want to be SEEN as EQUALS.. why don't they ACT like it?
Seriously... with all the constant talk of men and women being "equal" and everything... I came to realize that HALF the reason many men still see women as inferior is because so many of them continue to behave that way. Everytime a woman: -Lets a man buy her a drink -Waits for a man to make the first move -Lets a man pay for the date -Waits for the man to call -Seeks out dates but refuses to approach men -Shys away from physically demanding work -Expects a man to support her financially -Act like hitting a woman is worst than hitting a man -Flirts her way out of a speeding ticket -Crys to get her way -Becomes a stripper -Etc, etc, etc.... ... She is comminicating to the world that women are inferior. Isn't she? What do YOU think?"NiCole": Are you saying that just because SOME men feel threatened it means women have to slow down? That's RIDICULOUS. All that proves is women have to do what men want them to. That's not equality, now is it?"Amesyy" So you're saying women want to CHERRY PICK areas of life to have "equality"? That's stupid."ME" So your saying that men have to make the first move? That doesn't sound like equality to me."Wendy g" Men who do those things are inferior too. moreResolved Question: Never hit a girl, flawed?
This is loosely based off the recent Chris Brown & Rihanna incident. I feel like the, "a guy should never hit a girl," mindset is a bit flawed and annoying. I don't understand why people don't seem to understand that if women want equal rights, they deserve equal treatment. So a woman wants the privledges of being able to vote, run for President, be a CEO, but ALSO wants to keep the privledge of never being able to get hit, having her doors opened for her, etc? Doesn't seem very fair. I'm all for equal rights, but I'm also for equal treatment along with that. So do I think women beating is right? Absolutely not! I tend to agree more with, "pick on somebody your own size," which leaves gender out of the mindset. Lets say for example a 35 year old man hits a 15 year old kid. Is that okay? Most people would say no because it's a man hitting a kid, not a man hitting another man. So let's say the 15 year old kid is in to weight lifting and is much stronger than the 35 year old man. Now is it okay? Now lets make the strength of the 35 year old man stronger, but increase the boys age to 18. Now it's man vs. man. Okay to just knock him out? It seem the most fair approach (assuming violence is inevitable) is that both people, regardless of age, are of near equal strength/size. I almost feel like the "a man should never hit a girl" mindset is trying to give females the winning side vs. trying to protect them. What I mean by this is that if society thinks "a man should never hit a girl" than ANYTIME a man hits a girl for WHATEVER reason, the man is in the wrong. It's like if two people are going to wrestle (lets say for high school), and one of them says before the match, "I'm feeling really sick and my ankle hurts," but continuing with the match. Then if that wrestler happens to lose, he has that previous excuse to fall back on. "I told you I didn't feel good and my ankle hurt." It appears to be the same thing as the "a man should never hit a girl." So in case it does happen, it already decides who is at fault regardless of the situation. Like I said, I'm not for women beating. I wouldn't hit a girl that is smaller/weaker than me, but I wouldn't hit a guy that is smaller/weaker than me, either. I don't think it's necessarily about gender, I think it's more about size/strength. If a male and a female are the same strength/size and they end up getting physical, it doesn't seem fair that the male should be looked down upon. But if some of you are REALLY stuck on the mindset that the male gender should never lay their hands on the female gender, than it would be hypocritical to expect women to have the same rights as men. There is no debate over that. The equality women gain to men comes with benefits (being able to run for President, etc) AND disadvantages (being able to get hit, not having doors opened). Else, that's like saying people should get lottery tickets and only have to pay for them if they win. This question is not to seek opinions regarding your personal view on violence. This question assumes violence is inevitable, and I am looking for opinions on how society should look at acts of violence based on those involved (should sex matter? age? size? strength?), not your take on whether or not violence should be happening in general. Please stick to the question at hand. I just wanted to make this clear because it seems like a lot of people answer questions with their random opinion instead of focusing on the actual question asked. Thank you! moreResolved Question: is this gender equality ? do woman's want gender equality or they want to dominate man ?indian woman's only ?

I say this cause its ridiculous that there could be a group thats just supporting one gender and barely acknowledge or even totally ignore when men are in a victim role....For example parental fraud, mothers getting the kids in divorce 90% of the time, getting falsely accused of rape, not nearly as much support for prostate cancer as breast cancer even though PC is diagnosed more, women getting lower sentences for same crime, men get hit funny women get hit abuse, and the list goes on and on. But MOST women/ feminist very rarely try to help men out and that disappoints me. And thats why many women/ and most feminist are hated on by guys. THEY ACT LIKE THEY DONT CARE MEN ARE ON THE PLANET. You cant say that to guys though you will find many men on breast cancer donation runs, rallying for equal pay, and more right for women. They are out helping women more than themselves even though they dont agree 100%. We...( okay not all some are sexist piggies) in large, support both genders. I used to feel that the sex drive was equal and after answering a few questions on the subject I actually started to think more deeply about it. In conclusion I feel that women do not have as high a sex drive in general. The evidence is everywhere. Men will actually go out and pay hard earned cash to pay a women to have sex with him. Women even if they do use escorts, so we are told, don't even put the sexual act at the top of their reasons for doing so. Is this argument really a bit silly that we have the same urge to have sex. I know women were repressed in the past but that doesn't mean they have the same need for sex than most males. Or is our definition of sex different and is that what causes the confusion.I am surprised at you snufkin. I had you down as more layed back as that.cap... 40 ways men fail in bed.. [[a little long, but very funny .. lol]]? Men - this is a free instruction guide for all of you who never get invite back after the first time and think it's because of your body odour; of course for some of you that could be true as well.....40 ways Men Fail in BED 1) NOT KISSING FIRST. Avoiding her lips and diving straight for the erogenous zones makes her feel like you're paying by the hour & trying to get your money's worth by cutting out non-essentials. A proper passionate kiss is the ultimate form of foreplay. 2) BLOWING TOO HARD IN HER EAR. Well, there's a difference between being erotic and blowing as if you're trying to extinguish the candles on your birthday cake! 3) NOT SHAVING. Guys often forget they have a porcupine strapped to their chins, which they rake repeatedly across their partner's face and thighs. So when she turns her head from side to side, it's not passion it's avoidance! 4) SQUEEZING HER BREAST. Most men act like a housewife testing melons for ripeness when they get their hands on a pair. Stroke, caress, and smooth them. 5) BITING HER NIPPLES. Why do men fasten onto a woman's nipples, then clamp down like they're trying to deflate her body via her breasts? Nipples are highly sensitive & they can't stand up to chewing. Lick and suck them gently. Flicking your tongue across them is good. Pretending they're a doggie toy isn't. 6) TWIDDLING HER NIPPLES. Stop doing that thing where you twiddle the nipples between finger and thumb like you're trying to find a radio station in a hilly area. Focus on the whole breasts, not just the exclamation points. 7) IGNORING THE OTHER PARTS OF HER BODY. A woman is not a highway with just three turnoffs: Breastville East and West, and the Midtown Tunnel. There are vast areas of her body, which you've ignored far too often as you go bombing straight into downtown Vagina. So start paying them some attention! 8) GETTING THE HAND TRAPPED. Poor manual dexterity in the underskirt region can result in tangled fingers and underpants. If you're going to be that aggressive, just ask her to take the damn things off. 9) LEAVING HER A LITTLE PRESENT. Condom disposal is the man's responsibility. You wore it, you store it. 10) ATTACKING THE CLITORIS. Direct pressure is very unpleasant, so gently rotate your fingers along side of the clitoris. 11) STOPPING FOR A BREAK. Women, unlike men, don't pick up where they left off. If you stop, they plummet back to square one very fast. If you can tell she's not there, keep going at all costs, numb jaw or not. 12) UNDRESSING HER AWKWARDLY. Women hate looking stupid, but stupid she will look when naked at the waist with a sweater stuck over her head. Unwrap her like an elegant present, not a kid's toy. 13) GIVING HER A WEDGIE DURING FOREPLAY. Stroking her gently through her panties can be very sexy. Pulling the material up between her thighs and yanking it back and forth is not. 14) BEING OBSESSED WITH THE VAGINA. Although most men can find the clitoris without maps, they still believe that the vagina is where it's all at. No sooner is your hand down there than you're trying to stuff stolen banknotes up a chimney, which is OK in principle, but if you're not careful, it can hurt - so don't get carried away. Better to pay more attention to her clitoris and the exterior of her vagina at first, then gently slip a finger inside her and see if she likes it. 15) MASSAGING TOO ROUGHLY. You're attempting to give her a sensual, relaxing massage to get her in the mood. Hands and fingertips are okay; elbows and knees are not. 16) UNDRESSING PREMATURELY. Don't force the issue by stripping before she's at least made some move toward getting your stuff off, even if it's just undoing a couple of buttons. 17) TAKING YOUR PANTS OFF FIRST. A man in socks and underpants is a at his worst. Lose the socks first. 18) GOING TOO FAST. When you get to the penis-in-vagina situation, the worst thing you can do is pump away like an industrial power tool she'll soon feel like an assembly-line worker made obsolete by your technology. Build up slowly, with clean, straight, regular thrusts. 19) GOING TOO HARD. If you bash your great triangular hip bones into herthigh or stomach, the pain is equal to two weeks of horseback ridingconcentrated into a few seconds. 20) COMING TOO SOON. Every man's fear (with reason). If you shoot before you see the whites of her eyes, make sure you have a backup plan to ensure her pleasure too. 21) NOT COMING SOON ENOUGH. You may think that humping for an hour without climaxing is the mark of a sexual weight-lifter , but to her it's more likely the mark of a numb vagina. At least buy some intriguing wall hangings so she has something to hold her interest while you're playing Marathon Man. 22) ASKING IF SHE HAS COME. You really ought to be able to tell. Most women make noisYeah it is funny. I couldn't fit all of it hough!... humph. But I saw someone else posted it 2 years ago. Thought I'd post it again for new people to laugh at! Something to think about! I have been wondering about why Whites are racists, and no other race is. Proud to be White. Michael Richards makes his point... Michael Richards better known as Kramer from TVs Seinfeld does make a good point. This was his defense speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act. He makes some very interesting points... How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'.. and that's OK. But when you are called a Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ... you say we are a racist. You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live? Y ou have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi. You have the NAACP. You have BET... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists. If we had White History Month, we'd be racists. If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd be racists. We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that?? A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant. If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... You know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US. Yet if there were 'White colleges' That would be a racist college. In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists. You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member up or a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist. I am proud... But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites are made out to be racists? personally, i think that all mankind should be treated equal. but it does seems as if the white people of this country is label a racist. we have lost most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. At the signing Obama cited Census Bureau figures that women still receive only about 78 cents for every dollar that men get for doing equivalent jobs — "women of color even less," he said. Obama actually did it. Bush Co. had the chance but didn't. Congress attempted to update the law, but the Bush White House and Senate Republicans blocked the legislation in the last session of Congress... What justification could there possibly be for Bush and the Reps NOT signing it when they had the chance? (Other than the old "We don't wanna make it easier to sue our precious companies" schtick)? The measure, which amends the 1964 Civil Rights Act, also applies to discrimination based on factors such as race, religion, national origin, disability or age. What's up with Reps? Everyone's equal, except gays? Everyone's equal, but women are worth less? Everyone's equal, except foreigners "accused" of crimes? What gives? moreResolved Question: Please help me check these true false questions!I done it already but I get so confused.10 points, plz help me?

In one way or another? If women's sex (the effort or availability of a woman having sex) is desired more than a man's, this means that in a heterosexual context men's sex has a negative worth (as sex is between two individuals, and we've concluded that the woman is already in more demand). Saying a man's sex has a negative worth is the same thing as saying that it has no value minus whatever the difference between the social value of the woman's sex and his. -- In other words, this suggests that men generally always *pay for sex in one way or another outside of the physical act of sex itself. Right? (considering a man and woman of equal socioeconomic value and visibility)________ Notice shelob, I specified "concerning men and women of equal socioeconomic value". So yes there are men who have women falling over to have sex with them- however this is more often than not a case with men of already higher socioeconomic value than the woman. - So in observance, it would seem as if he has already *paid for the sex (giving her an opportunity to be with a man of higher value in exchange for sex on her part-- whereas a woman would hardly ever have sex with a man of lower s.e. value for *free, right?) moreTop Women Equal Pay Acts Links
