I had a receipe that was very easy and I loved to make it. Please help me figure out the right measurements of the other ingredients. Or let me know if there is a receipe that I am just messing up. It is a peanut butter cookie and right before it was done you take it out and put Hershey's kiss on top and put them back in the oven for just a few minutes. It called for one jar peanut butter. Then you would use the same jar and measure out an equal amount of sugar to the peanut butter. You would use a little butter, egg, and coco. Then you would mix all ingredients and separate into tiny balls. Put them on a baking sheet not sure of temp. and bake. While they were baking I had enough time to get next pan ready. Pull them out right before they are done and put hershey kisses on top. You can also take out the coco. I also put Reese's on top instead of Hershey's. Resolved Question: How Should I Plan My Diet Strategy?

I am 17 years old and VERY overweight. I started out at 400 lbs in December of 07. That opened my eyes so i dieted and exercised and droped 25 LBS so i got it down to about 375 which is still very bad but it was a start. Then life got hard and I began to stress eat alot. I havent gained too much but im around 375-380 now. I want to lose more and get down to like 250-215. I mean come on now, Im a big guy, Im 6' 3" and got a husky built. Its hard to try and compromise my eating habits with my family, they like to eat whatever they like and dont want to compromise my health with their appetite. So im pretty much stuck. Mom used to be supportive about it but she pretty much forgot about it too. I have been over weight my whole life and I want to change that. The doctor limited me to 1800 Calories and a minimum of 45 minutes of exercise a day. I want to try and cut out sugar, I already cut out soda, and I want to limit my intake on beef and saturated fats. Should I take fish oil tablets? I already have a mild heart murmor, would it be ok to take? I also heard its a weight loss aid, is that true? Please give me as much support as you can. I want to get back on course and stay on course. I need the most advice possible. Thank you soo much! My Meal Layout Is As Follows: Breakfast: I serving of oatmeal and splenda and 2 peices of whole grain toast with 2 tbs. of peanut butter. I eat those every day, so breakfast is no problem Lunch I am pretty much stuck with school lunch, but I try to eat healhy and balanced and stick to the salad bar Dinner, Various proteins and vegetables Pretty much I eat 3 meals a day equaling no more then 500 calores. Pat dry and slip the skins off. ) almonds ·1 pound shelled walnuts ·1 pound filo dough sheets ·2/3 cup granulated sugar ·2 teaspoons ground cinnamon ·1 teaspoon ground allspice or cloves ·Syrup: ·2 cups honey (bring back any from Greece?) ·2 cups water ·2 cups sugar ·2 cinnamon sticks (or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon) ·1 teaspoon grated orange peel (or to taste) ·1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or to taste) Preparation: Thaw the filo before starting. Melt the butter. Grind or chop together the walnuts and almonds, and mix together with the cinnamon, allspice or cloves, and sugar. Using a rectangular pan, preferably a 9x13x2, brush the pan with the melted butter. Separate a sheet of the thawed filo. Keep the rest covered by, but not touching, a damp towel. Handling it as little as possible, lay a sheet of filo in the bottom of the pan. Brush it with butter. Fold it over if necessary to fit in the pan. Do this until you have about 10-12 layers. Then put a layer of the nuts and spices mixture on top of the sheet of filo, cover with another sheet of filo, paint that with butter, and continue in this manner until you've used all of your filling. Top with about an equal amount of the filo sheets as you used for the bottom. If you're a little short or a little over, don't worry about it. Too many layers can get a bit gummy, however. Be sure each sheet is brushed with butter. Cut across the completed baklava with a sharp knife, into triangles or diamonds. Bake at 350 for about an hour, or until evenly browned on top - think a nice golden color like some of the sunsets you saw in Greece. Syrup: Simmer together the syrup ingredients for ten minutes and strain. Set aside. A good time to make this is just after you've put the baklava into the oven. Pour the cooled syrup over the baklava and let it sit before serving. If you can bear to. If you are like me, by the end of this I have filo dough in my hair and nuts stuck to me with honey syrup - which is why I don't recommend making your own filo dough - I know I'd end up looking like an Egyptian mummy before I'd ever get a sheet of dough to properly fling itself into a tissue-thin layer. FILO (GREEK PASTRY) This paper thin pastry is used for making meat, vegetable, cheese and egg dishes as well as sweet pastries. It can be purchased in 1 pound packages in some specialty stores, or you can make your own, using this recipe. 2 2/3 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. warm water 2 tbsp. oil Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Gradually add water, stirring to make a stiff dough. Turn onto a pastry board. Place oil in a bowl and spread a little of it on the palms of your hands. Knead the dough adding more oil to your hands when it becomes sticky. Continue until you have a smooth, elastic ball of dough and the oil is nearly all used. Then roll the ball in the oil to cover all sides, place a clean cloth over the bowl and let rest 2 hours. (A barely warm oven is a good place for this). Separate 1/4 of the dough and roll to 1/4 inch thickness on a board rubbed with cornstarch. Cover with cloth and let rest 10 minutes. Cover a table (card table or larger) with a smooth cloth and carefully lift dough onto it. Put your hands under the dough, palms down, and gently stretch dough with the backs of your hands, working your way around the table, until dough is as thin as tissue paper. Do not worry if it hangs down around the edges. Cut off the thicker edge and save the scraps. (They can be used by putting them in a moist bowl, kneaded and rolled again). The Filo is now ready to be cut in pieces with scissors if you wish to use it moist. If you prefer dry Filo, allow it to stand about 10 minutes, then cut into desired size. Hints On Handling Filo: Use moist, not dry, sheets of Filo, with moist mixtures (cheese, custard, meat or vegetable fillings). Always use moist Filo in a recipe in which the Filo is rolled or folded. Dry Filo can be sprinkled or brushed with water to make it more pliable. Because the sheets of Filo dry quickly, keep all but the sheet you are working with, covered with a towel. Do not unwrap Filo until you have the filling prepared and are ready to use it. Filo will keep for several months frozen. Keep package sealed tight while frozen.
