Men And Women Are Equal Questions asked

Open Question: would this solve the problem with gay marriage?

now i read up an did research on the problems with no gay marriage, and the problem with civil unions, so what about a Federal Union? It would be between a man and a man or a woman and a woman only. it would be under federal law the entitled to the all the legal benefits as a marriage, but not called a marriage, and only allowed between members of the same sex. what do you think? equal in my opinion, the same as a marriage, but not called one, same rights, but different name. plus it fixes all the problems with civil unions (look it up) it is not ment to be the same, but essentially by federal law a man and a woman can not enter inter a Fereral Union, just as a same sex couple is not allowed to enter a marriage, just like a dude cannot go into the ladies room (not a federal law, but you get the picture), how ever the rights, which is what this whole thing is about, for homosexuals WOULD NOT BE SEPERATE, but equal in every respect to a marriage, only it partains to a male and a male or a female and a female only. and if they wanted to they could call it a what every the heck they want because on paper it would be considered the same status as a marrige, just not the dictionnary definition of one, ALL and I mean ALL the rights with out infringing the defintion already established. a fair comprosmise not a seperate one, but a new class for them. who knows they may be entitiled to even more rights  more

Open Question: Why do men insist that women aren't equal to them?

Hearing a guy say "A woman's place in this world is in the KITCHEN!" or "All women are good for is lying back and taking it". I heard I guy say that to my sister.....................I nearly beat him into a coma. I was charged with assault. If there's one thing I HATE HATE HATE HATE, if there's one thing in this world that makes my blood boil, it is sexist men who believe that women are the lesser gender. Seriously, guys, just accept it, women have proven over and over and OVER again and again that they are capable of anything, just like we are. Gender has nothing to do with it. Sexists are just as uneducated as racists. No seriously guys, WHY do you think women aren't equal? And give me a good thought out answer because I won't hesitate to respond. Ben, LOOK AT MY AVATAR..........do I look like a housewife to you???  more

Open Question: The male species can be just as beautiful as the female species, can't they?

Last time I checked, beauty was NOT limited to women. Men are beautiful to in their own way and I find it stupid when people stand there and say the female body is more beautiful than the mans. That's REALLY ignorant. You don't have to be ATTRACTED to the person to find the beautiful as well. I feel people are making women seem more like 'sex' personified than they do men, they are both equal. Why do people INSIST on looking down on the male body/species??? Boys, it won't make you gay if you say another guy is good looking. Stop acting like it will, that's PATHETIC!  more

Open Question: Anyone Share My Beliefs Or My Friend's?

Hello, I am just curious if anyone else shares the same beliefs I have when it comes to the Human Race and Equality. Me and my friend were having a argument. His stance was that there are different races of humans are were different thus making us not equal. My stance was that there is only one race and that is the human race and we do have differences but that doesn't mean were not equal. Here is how we each defended each others point of view. He was saying there is more than one race because their is black, white, Chinese, Indian, etc and each race looks different, culture is different, and certain people are smarter than others. Thus these differences make us not equal because we look different are a different race have different personal attributes that do not make us equal. Ok Now for my part of how i defend my belief and my point of view. FIRST OFF I AGREE we are all DIFFERENT IN THE sense we look different and have different personal attributes, but that does not make one not equal. First off i believe that their is only one race, I only see one race i don't believe in black, white, Chinese, Indian, etc no where in any religious text does it say god created different races, only a man and woman thus ONLY HUMANS. Also no matter how u look like no matter if your smart, or not so smart, if u have money or not, were all still equal, we all still have the same Human Value That MAKES US ALL equal, no matter what were all one race the human race and were all equal being more smarter then a person does not mean you a person is not equal to you if your not as intelligent. So that is the argument. What do you guys or gals feel about this issue. thanks. my friend wasn't saying a particular race was smarter den another he was basically saying that were all different in how we look and we have different races, but im saying theres only one race and were all equal not matter how we look we have A SOUL. ALL HUMANS HAVE THE same value.  more

Open Question: Are there any current world issues?

I need an article online for my homework. It's due tomorrow and I still haven't chosen one! Although...I found this article in the newspaper talking about how there is a huge gender gap, bu I don't know if it's a good article to work with. Basically, women and men are not equal, and in terms of workforce participation and earning opporunities, the gap between the sexes remains large. The world's women are nearly as educated and as healthy as men, but are nowhere to be found in terms of decision-making. Would you consider that article to be a current event / world issue? If you don't think so are there any other issues you can find? Thanks!!  more

Resolved Question: Would you agree that nowadays amongst women, feminism is not an issue?

That is, it is generally agreed by women that they should have equal rights with men nowadays. Following this train of thought, is it generally agreed that men are not inferior - are not on an inferior standing to women re political and intellectual, and rights re salaries and power-mongering in business - but equal. Clarification of question: I said 1) women agree that they are or should be equal nowadays. This was not always the case in the past. 2) That it is not an issue between them i.e. debatable (actually the same thing as the first statement). 3) That they are agreed that they are equal to or should be seen as equal to men. 4) that they are agreed that men should be equal to them i.e. not inferior. 5) I did not ask whether women thought men should be seen as equal but not superior. I can't help feeling that women don't see that equal implies "not inferior". I live in one of the most multicultural suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. I don't bellieve in the inferiority/ superiority of men - that is I'm very open-minded on the subject and I'm sure I'd welcome arguments to the contrary. In fact I'd really...really... love to listen to arguments to the contrary...lol So... who would like to persuade me? ------------------------------------------- I'm pretty persuadable, at times.  more

Resolved Question: I am new in English, please one person read my new writing?

Hi to all, I am preparing myself for toefl test but, unfortunately I do not have a English tutor for writing. I want you please read my writing below and guide me and give your ideas about it to improve that. And if you want to mark it, what is the score from 0 to 30 for a non English Student. Thanks a lot! topic: What are the benefits of watching movies from other countries(made in foriegn countries) Do you ever watch a movie from another country? Many people believe that this can be a free travel abroad. Though some of these films want to harm the moviegoers’ culture, but I believe that benefits of watching these kinds of films are much greater than their harm. In this essay, I want to bring two major functions to prove my mentioned claim. At the first, if you do not have a chance to travel abroad, the best and cheapest way is watching a film made in a foreign country. Although this can grant you an interesting enjoyment, but that is not all; seeing these movies cause you to be familiar with that country’s past, people, beliefs, political attitudes and ideas, economic issues etc. For instance, watching a film made in China can be the quick way to learn about Chinese’s civilization, tradition, food, war and sports; I remember I and my friend when we were younger, saw a Chinese’s movie in which two children were playing an unidentified game, after that, we followed them and played in the same way. In addition, the historical events are extremely known issues for moviemakers. Although these films are very costly for their makers, but can impress their moviegoer very much. From this, we can mention “Julius Caesar” as a successful and popular historical film. Furthermore, films made in foreign countries can take away some harmful custom and tradition, elevate moviegoers’ thought and to be a very beneficial instructor for the humans. For example, in some countries, women and men are not equal in the society; Perhaps seeing these films from countries without this bad situation would help to abolish them in places with this offensive tradition. From all those mentioned above, we can draw a conclusion that foreign movies are a strong weapon against ignorance and can have positive or maybe negative effects on human’s culture, thought, belief etc. A qualified movie can affect people in a way that a lot of speech or paper can not.  more

Open Question: Does Islam Consider Women Inferior to Men?

Islam considers men and women equal. Anyone who thinks that Islam gives an inferior position to women does not know Islam. It is true that in some Muslim communities women are treated as if they were inferior, but this is due to local tradition, which may be inherited or imported from local or neighboring culture. Unfortunately people associate this with Islam, but Islam has nothing to do with it  more

Resolved Question: Where does it say that marriage is between a man and a woman?

Someone tell me I'm at a loss trying to figure it out Oh and please don't give me Bible verses. The Bible does NOT apply to everyone in America.Bible is religion, and it has no place in government Why can't people who are against gay marriage understand that if gay marriage is legal it does not mean that churches will be forced to perform gay marriages if they don't want to:? No church was forced in Massachusetts,Connecticut,or in California for the brief time it was legal Besides, why do they care so much if the government changes the definition of marriage? I mean since it only matters what God thinks, why are people so concerned with what the government defines as marriage If that's what people are so concerned about, then maybe those people shouldn't get married. If you're going to let other people's marriages affect your marriage, you probably shouldn't be married anyway Explain to me how straight people's marriages will be threatened? No one has ever answered that question.Oh yeah, because it doesn't. People just use religion and God to justify their bigotry What part of the Constitution don't people understand? The part about how everyone is equal or the part about how everyone has the right to pursue happiness? What part of gay people are tax paying citizens don't they understand? They pay the same taxes as everyone so they deserve the same rights as everyone else If you don't think of them as your equals or humans for that matter, you could at least look at it from a legal perspective and see that they pay the same taxes as everyone else. It's not fair that they don't get the same rights Civil unions do not give all the benefits of a marriage especially federal benefits. Civil Unions are a compromise.Gay people have nothing to compromise for. It sounds like marriage segregation to me The same "marriage will be destroyed" argument was used to oppose interracial marriages and things like that @ Marina,I can't stand Keith Olbermann, but yes I did see that. How shameful of him for wanting gays to be treated as equal? @ spewing hatred, they can reproduce.Gays donate sperm, and lesbians can get pregnant No I'm not going to get over allowing discrimination. Then you need to get over Obama being elected president. @ Petals, they can reproduce. They can get pregnant. They can have sex with a guy and get pregnant if they didn't wear a condom. Obviously, they are not attracted to guys I'm sorry, but obviously,a lot of people have turned off their brains.Bigotry defies all logic None of you are answering my question Tell me how gay marriage will affect your marriage, and where does it say that marriage is between a man and a woman @ tick-tock,that would be called a hate crime, but you're a bigot so you would think that's okay @ block wall,I love you!  more

Resolved Question: What does it mean to be sexually confused?

This is not to offend anyone, I really want to know what people mean when they say they are confused and don't know if they are gay or straight? What does it feel like? I feel 100% certain that I like men, and although I find women to be very attractive, I have no desire to be with them sexually. I feel as though I would not be confused about whether I am gay or straight because I know what I want and what I like. I am a straight female, and I support equal gay rights including gay marriage. I don't believe that the law (the government) should be allowed to ban gay marriage because it is a legal issue, not religious (who are the ones that think it should be banned).  more

Resolved Question: Are Gays making a credible argument to Blacks concerning their Civil Rights?

Equal Civil Rights should be for all Americans, I think we all agree on that. The thing is, Most Christians feel like Marriage or "Matrimony" is more of a Religious concept based on Principle between a man and a woman. The Government didn't create Matrimony, it was Religion. Christians make a good point on this, However, Gays make a credible argument to blacks. If Marriage wasn't ever re-defined, Blacks would never be able to marry whites in 16 states, in fact blacks couldn't get married at all once upon a time. I really don't think Gays should go back and try to use our history to gain sympathy tho. I don't care about you atheist who disrespect Christianity, than turn around and expect Christians to respect you. Seriously, I'm not trying to hear you bash Christianity. If you don't agree, you should respect our religion, if you want us to respect what you believe. I think we should revise Civil Unions, and Civil Unions -- Revised with more rights, should be enough.  more

Open Question: black men issues with black women dating interracially?

I noticed that ALOT of black men, when they see a well educated smart pretty black women with a well educated white guy they seem to hate, and when an undereducated black man is with his equal usually an undereducated white women who happens to "act black" he complains that black women have a "problem" with that.. now the problem that we do have is that, alot and i mean ALOT of other well educated black women would love to marry there equal, a well educated black man, but unfortunatly in this day and age it is impossible, there just are not enough that are in university or higher level college. And the ones that are often times like us end up being friends with white people and end up marring them.. now im not saying thats a bad thing but dont be complaining about people who are educated who end up marring whites.. its not here fault and we are still the minority in colleges as well even if there are still alot more educated black women in college then men.. now i dont know why its such a shock for black men that alot of black women are choosing men of different races... black women who are under educated and are "equal" to black men are often at times going back to school getting an education because of lack of options or there just sick of undereducated black men doing them wrong.. so ask yourselves this are black women really the problem or black men.. the answer is black men.. you are the ones that need to change. and my question is, why are most black men seem to think that there is some sort of jellousy between you dating undereducated white women cause there isnt.. but why do you feel that there is?? and this is going out to the UNDER EDUCATED black men not the "educated" rare ones lol. spell check wasnt worrying ---sorry =) well "nigerian" you say this because you never dated interracially.. try dating a white man and see how many comments you get from black men and stares.. the census bearu says different, your mixing in what you want to believe and the actual facts.. cause "nigerian" judging by your level of knowledge on the subject i can only conclude that you havent, or not long enough.. were you two even holding hands.. you havent and i can tell. judging by your answer "faith" you must be one of those under educated white women who "act black" and date black men, i can tell =) its ok though to each his own ;) well herbz like i said this was ment for "under educated black men" dont complain if you choose to answer for them or fall under that category.. as I stated, its not ment for educated ones but you choose to answer for some reason.. i wonder why? well "nigerian" it seems as though you are unfortunatly not one of the "educated" black women, because you are who your friends are, and if your friends react that way towards interraical dating im sure your no different, and in resonse to your comment about why im concerned about what other black men think, i am not again, that was not my question and you need to learn how to read propoerlly and THINK before you answer.  more

Open Question: If a woman works less hours?

"Mine isn't spoiled either. When I get home tonight, dinner will be on the table, he will have done the shopping, and I'll probably get a nice massage and foot rub. He gets home an hour and a half before I do and always takes care of the household things while waiting for me to get home." If a woman got home 1.5 hrs earlier she would not take care of household chores, have dinner done, shop and give a nice massage/back rub. It would not happen. A woman would never let a man express an equal amount of emotion as well. Just doesn't happen. What do men get in return? Maybe the right to lead although women will still manipulate men. and "The person who leads should always come last." Men give alot. Women recieve a lot. Has there ever been a role reversal? With the woman working less hours, GIVING MORE and BEING HIS emotional PROTECTOR (and letting him express more vulnerability)? Has a woman ever been equally caretaking, affecionate loving, and expressive of that love? Has a man ever benefited more form a relationship?  more

Open Question: If women are so tough and want everything to be equal then why do they want men to do everything?

I ask because when a man is not working and the women is at home (I am not married; I am not even old enough to leave my parents' house yet) with children, (this is all HYPOTHETICAL for those who like to take everything so literally) she always tells the man to go get a job. I thought fought for equal rights so they could also work. I am NOT saying that a man should stay at home and do nothing though.  more

Resolved Question: During war, who suffers more stress between the man and the woman?

Nowadays, we all know that women are equal to men on the battlefield. But what about the days when "Johnny" came marching home? During World War II, during death marches, there were many prisoners who fell from exhaustion and couldn't walk any more. Many times, their own comrades, fellow countrymen, were forced to kill and then bury them since they couldn't march any more. Sometimes, certain prisoners were forced to bury their comrades while they were still alive. However, back at home, many women were suffering from loneliness because of the fact that their husband was away at war enduring such hardships. We shouldn't underestimate the pain that these women went through having to be alone. Because of their loneliness, they would, many times, have to find another man and then write a so-called "Dear John" letter to their husbands. It was especially difficult for these women to find another man to substitute for their spouse, since so many of the husbands were overseas fighting. If their husband died from the overseas fighting, then the women wouldn't be able to look forward to any husband coming home. Remember that, when their husbands died, the wives died with them. It was just as bad for the woman when her husband died. This point is made very clearly by Winona Ryder in the movie "1969". So then, my question is: who suffered more during these wars, the men or the women?  more

Resolved Question: Why aren't towns like detroit leveled and turned into cotton and farm plantations which people could work at?

Since the big three automakers are all but gone and there are no other jobs really left in areas like detroit, boston, pittsburgh, shouldn't we level those areas, add farm homes, and put people to work sowing the seeds, reaping the harvest, picking the tomatoes? I also think, since out transportation system here in America really stinks compared to Europe: why don't we lay more rail road tracks and railways across the country? These aren't the greatest jobs but they would provide employment. To decrease crime across America these jobs should first go to the minorities. I'm all for the EEO (equal employment opportunities). By giving these people these jobs (with little to no pay) we would be taking them off the streets and possibly preventing crimes. When our men and women come home from the war in Iraq they could be paid to supervise all these new workers. We should keep them armed just in case people get jealous and want to join in. As time goes by, maybe these people can someday own their own plantation. What do you think?  more

Open Question: The Unwritten Laws of Man....can you add any more?

For centuries the book of unwritten laws for men has been locked away. It has been recently discovered and is available for all men to add and edit. Here are the first 28 man laws ever written. Please feel free to add your own... 1: Under no circumstances may two men share an umbrella. 2: It is OK for a man to cry ONLY under the following circumstances: (a) When a heroic dog dies to save its master. (b) The moment Angelina Jolie starts unbuttoning her blouse. (c) After wrecking your boss's car. (d) When she is using her teeth. 3: Any Man who brings a camera to a bachelor party may be legally killed and eaten by his buddies. 4: Unless he murdered someone in your family, you must bail a friend out of jail within 12 hours. 5: If you've known a guy for more than 24 hours, his sister is off limits forever unless you actually marry her. 6: Moaning about the brand of free beer in a buddy's fridge is forbidden. However complain at will if the temperature is unsuitable. 7: No man shall ever be required to buy a birthday present for another man. In fact, even remembering your buddy's birthday is strictly optional. At that point, you must celebrate at a strip bar of the birthday boy's choice. 8: On a road trip, the strongest bladder determines pit stops, not the weakest. 9: When stumbling upon other guys watching a sporting event, you may ask the score of the game in progress, but you may never ask who's playing. 11: It is permissible to drink a fruity alcohol drink only when you're sunning on a tropical beach ... and it's delivered by a topless model and only when it's free. 12: Only in situations of moral and/or physical peril are you allowed to kick another guy in the nuts. 13: Unless you're in prison, never fight naked. 14: Friends don't let friends wear Speedos. Ever. Issue closed. 15: If a man's fly is down, that's his problem, you didn't see anything. 16: Women who claim they "love to watch sports" must be treated as spies until they demonstrate knowledge of the game and the ability to drink as much as the other sports watchers. 17: A man in the company of a hot, suggestively dressed woman must remain sober enough to fight. 18: Never hesitate to reach for the last beer or the last slice of pizza, but not both, that's just greedy. 19: If you compliment a guy on his six-pack, you'd better be talking about his choice of beer. 20: Never join your girlfriend or wife in discussing a friend of yours, except if she's withholding sex pending your response. 21: Phrases that may NOT be uttered to another man while lifting weights: a) Yeah, Baby, Push it! b) C'mon, give me one more! Harder! c) Another set and we can hit the showers! 22: Never talk to a man in a bathroom unless you are on equal footing: i.e., both urinating, both waiting in line, etc. For all other situations, an almost imperceptible nod is all the conversation you need. 23: Never allow a telephone conversation with a woman to go on longer than you are able to have sex with her. Keep a stopwatch by the phone. Hang up if necessary. 24: The morning after you and a girl who was formerly "just a friend" have carnal, drunken monkey sex, the fact that you're feeling weird and guilty is no reason for you not to nail each other again before the discussion occurs about what a big mistake it was. 25: It is acceptable for you to drive her car. It is not acceptable for her to drive yours. 26: Thou shalt not buy a car in the colors of brown, pink, lime green, orange or sky blue. 27: The girl who replies to the question "What do you want for Christmas?" with "If you loved me, you'd know what I want!" gets an Xbox. End of story. 28: There is no reason for guys to watch Ice Skating or Men's Gymnastics. Ever.  more

Resolved Question: Sexism. Are the "sexist" sayings true? Or are we truly equal?

Now, many people think it is sexist to say "A man is better that a woman" or "A woman is better that a man." Now, here is my opinion. For the next five minutes, I will type unbiasedly. I am only calling a spade a spade, so don't start pointing fingers when I'm only speaking the truth. People say all humans are equal. That is not true. We are ALL DIFFERENT, thus constitues that some are better at things than others. I am tired of people saying that "gender is just mother natures way of reproduction and doesn't make men or women inferior or superior." That is TOTALLY not true. For my answer (TAKE NOTE THAT I AM STILL TYPING UNBIASED) I say men are superior. To back up my answer, I'll start religously. In Christianity (the major religoun of the U.S. and my own) God states in the bible that because of the mishap in the Garden of Eden, He stated that "woman will serve men" and He actually said that men will be not only the leaders of the world, but above women. Past religous terms, I now state statistics. If you took the best man and the best woman at everything, the man is better, be it at leading, parenting, cooking, running, anything, the man always proves to be superior. Even if you took the "average" man and woman and made them do several tasks, such as an IQ test and physical challenges, the man seems to prove himself better. Now, there are a million and one ways that men are inferior in general, such as parenting as stated before. The woman is able to do the man's job (teaching discipline and toughness (correct word?) ) while maintaining her job in parenting (teaching kindness and responsibility) I'm sure you will all ask this, but I say that IN GENERAL, a woman shouldn't be president for 2 reasons. First off, they have no experiance. the majority of rulers on the Earth of ANYTHING are male. Secondly, the woman's way of problem solving isn't as efficent in the real world. Basically, all women that were leaders would be liberal (I know I know, Sarah Palin...) because of their sight of "No war wins all battles". If you look around today, there is only one historic event that won without fighting, and that was Ghandi, a male by the way, and that was because he knew that they couldn't fight in tha situation. A woman just thinks differently, and her way of thinking isn't suitable for leadership in a state of political stability. If a nuke goes off in the USA, she wouldn't fight back (remember I mean the AVERAGE woman). The only peace is through superior firepower, and the majority of men, not women, will uphold that statement. Don't get me wrong, women are amazing, and some of the most incredible people out there are women, but in the average state, a man proves to be superior. If you views are the same or different, please comment. I would love to see them. The best statements (that are backed up, not a load of BS) get the best answer. Willis, that's the point. We are not equal at all. In fact, some people that that at birth we are all the same. It's just a matter of who and what we are exposed to in out lifes. That's completely wrong. If you take the nerdy kid with a gameboy in his pocket and a senior football player with a gorgeous girl at his side, they were not born the same, as they would have both taken the "football player" route, because it has the most benefits. Since he was DIFFERENT from the other guy, the nerdy kid had to stick with who he was: someone different. I love what T is saying, but you have to take into consideration what Cogito and others are saying. The religious beliefs only go as far as the people who believe in them. And that about how the dominate one is the one that is superior, Cogito made a wonderful example about slavery. It is true. Just because they rule doesn't mean that they are superior, which comes into play the ever so famous story of "the bully that was truly a coward", but thats another philosophy... Ak Ak is saying valuable information as well, so I would like to comment. Yes, it is true how I did speak of the "average" man and women, and yes it's true that the person in office shouldn't be "average". He/she should be considerably better, which is why I also included in the begining tha you should take the BEST man and the BEST woman in these things, which I apologize for bringing in the average human for the presidency subject. Gypsy, you are completely wrong. I spoke in favor of the woman many times, but I was only calling a spade a spade. I apologize for speaking in favor of the choice I chose. I thought that was the point of "backing up your decision." Get your info straight. Dang, I'm getting a lot of great thoughts. qwerty stated how "I can be what I want to be". That is true and not true at the same time. In the statement about the football player, you can't be EXACTLY want you want to be all the time, but at the same time, you control your own fate. You can choose to be the superior one or you can choose to follow suit, whether that be choosing to stay superior or inferior. Remember, what we can be is limited to what we already are. OK, Hamorr, the bible was written by men, but you can say Jesus was a man, so all his teachings were biased. No. There is a reason the bible was written by kings and great nobles, and that was because they wrote down what Jesus said and what God himself said.  more

Open Question: Can a woman ever be the man's emotional protector AND strength?

Can someone explain how women are nurturers? Men are nurturers.Women are weak creatures who need a man to nurture them. Even wikipedia says it "Society has different rules with regards to the way that men and women are supposed to express themselves. Men are generally regarded as the ones who are supposed to give comfort and strength. If they break down, cry, or seek comfort they may lose face. Women and other men do not give men an option to express feeling sad, tired, weak, depressed, inadequate, needy, or lonely without sacrificing their masculinity." Part 1: Friendliness Women are more insecure and harder to deal with. Even women admit it. They resort to emotional blackmail and men have to deal with PMS. Yet when men are suffering from IMS (Irritable Male Syndrome) we are told we are jerks if we act out. Men also have hormonal cycles and times of up and downs. Part 2:Emotions Women by far express more vulnerability. Men give more comfort Women receive it. But in general we are equally emotional. Why do women get comforted if both had bad days at work? Why should women be treated with more care, compassion and attention? We have an equal amount of emotional needs? Why not give men more compassion, attention and care ? No one in society does. Women only want a sensitive man if he is sensitive to her needs but doesn't have problems of his own. Men are the ones who show more love and compassion. Women show more weakness and vulnerability. Can the situation be reversed? Part 3: Strength Men are the strength during a time of crisis. They are the pillar of strength. They are the ones women lay into for strength. Part 4: Affection Women give less affection. The man always holds the woman. The man hugs the woman. The man kisses her forehead. The man lets the woman lie in his lap and caresses her hair. A woman is never the more affectionate one. Part 5: Giving Men by far give more in terms of everything(gifts, massages you know it). Part 6: Cheating Women are forgiven for cheating more often. When a woman cheats and is forgiven the man works harder to satisfy her needs. If a man is forgiven he undergoes emotional blackmail and domestic violence. A cheating man gets hit and kicked out of their house. A cheating woman does not. Part 7: Heroes Women still expect heroes who are strong, compassionate, very protective with hearts of gold but women very rarely play this role in return. Part 8: Borrowing stuff Women borrow men's stuff. But men don't borrow women's clothes and stuff. This includes ipods, headphones, videogames, DVDs, drinks, food, household products, toiletries. Men don't get anything to remember their woman by because men are more thoughtful. Part 9: Nurturing Men would come over in the middle of the night to comfort or take care of their spouse or get her medicine at 2 am. Women wouldn't. Women get more pampered when sick. Men cook, clean and bake. Men give more gifts. Anniversaries, birthdays and valentines are all abut women. Men cook Thanksgiving dinner while women sit around and drink. Men adjust the temperature to her liking and would give up their umbrella. Men get her water in the middle of the night and serve her first. Part 10: Financial Security When has a woman every supported her man financially if he wanted to change jobs or go back to school? Women benefit more from relationships. Can a man ever benefit more from a relationship? “relationships can be a struggle, and usually it seems to benefit the woman more.” “that as a whole women tend to be needier than men. men can survive with just the clothes on their back and food while we need a pair of shoes to match each ouffit and we do like attention.” “Well, men have always been viewed as the stronger gender. It is possible for the roles to reverse and the woman, but the one who coddles him. However, I don't think a lot of women find those to be very attractive qualities in a man. No matter how much she makes, or spends on him. Someplace deep down its nice to know you have someone that can protect you.” “Many girls seem to respond more openly to what your talking about to femininity. It's still not culturally accpectable for women to take on the mans traditional role of taking the initiative to cuddle 'you', hold 'you', to make 'you' feel protected. Specifically of your a masculine looking/acting guy.” “i believe the main reason women are harder to deal with is because we are more emotional then men, which means we require more attention, love support, patience, and understanding. emotions can make you act strange and funny some times, even when we don't mean to. we also have hormones that go crazy once a month making us, um, not so normal. men are more simple minded, that's not to say they are less intelligent by any means, but women look at a situation in 20 different angles, where men tend to look at it from one simple non complicated angle. i can say one thing for sure, i don't envy men for having to deal with us! but we can be loving when we want. (if you find the right one) good luck to you men out there!...lol” "The stereotype is a bit annoying, but sadly not without some foundation. Women often have a sense of entitlement that makes them higher-maintenance than men. Between men and women, women are more work. Our expectations may be high, our contribution low, and our self-assessment inconsistent to a fault. We also emote more. But to an extent, how could that not be somewhat attractive? It's the stuff passion is made of. Are women hard to deal with? Yes. Is it worth it? Must be. I don't envy men though.” when would a woman ever do something like but she said that the best gift i gave her was this cd i made her. i was a photo cd. when she opened it up there was a title page with link to "things she gave me," "dances we went to," "places we went," etc. and when you click on of them there would be music and pictures with captions under them. took like 40 hours but it was so worth it. I have a guy that waits on me hand and foot...yet when I flex my muscles and try to excercise my freedom, he lets me do so. But...I like that treatment, always have. I try to pay for things, but he's stubborn and will never let me. When I think I get away with paying for something, he either sends me a letter with money in it, or he works at a bank so he transfers as little as $7 from his account to mine! BAH! It's a no win situation...but, I think it's cute. :P He doesn't always pull out my chair for me which is great (he does it when we're someplace nice, or at a formal event...becuase the atmosphere is appropriate). I like being babied...a great deal of the guys that I've liked do baby their girlfriends. The one that didn't was a completely lustful attraction... :-?  more

Open Question: Husband said he was interested in the submissive/traditional relationship?

My husband and I were just talking a few days ago and it came up about what he liked. We've been married a year and I haven't heard of him liking this till now. He said he was interested in the traditional relationships, where the man is the "rock" in the relationship and it would be his responsibility to look out for his wife and family. This scared me a lot. I was in an emotionally abusive relationship before I got married and it has hurt me a lot. I find myself comparing my husband (which is sweet and caring) to the monster I used to be with. I have a lot of mental baggage from my past relationship and I take medicine for it, but I still have a lot of issues. Through it all though, my husband is still right by my side. He said he'll always love me and be there for me and I cant scare him away because I have issues that I can't get over. I'm glad he is so understanding and caring like that but now I view him differently that he said he likes the submissive wife thing. This is how he described it...he wants to me the 'man' and be responsible for the family, he wants me to trust him to make most of the decisions, he does not want me to become a person that has no say, he wants me to work, have my own thoughts and be my own person still, but like when he says something to just say "ok" and trust him and not make a big deal out of it and get into this huge argument....we've been arguing like crazy, mostly because I feel if i don't argue, though he may be right, that he'll get the upper hand and think he won and he start to be controlling. Thats what I fear, I fear being controlled and taken advantage of like I was in the past relationship. My husband says that it just would avoid so many fights if I just said "OK" first before I started to argue. And then if i didnt agree with what he said, talk to him about it later and discuss it. I just feel the word submissive is such a degrading word. When he says it, it makes me think of a wife that does whatever she's told, that the man has the final say, and the woman is the lesser of the two. My husband said that I have it wrong and that he doesn't want to boss me around, he just wants to be the traditional husband and be the protector, be the one that makes me happy and makes the family happy and he wants me to work and think of me as an equal and is respectful to me. Can some one just explain all this to me. My friend that is in a dom/sub relationship tells me the submissive has all the control and its not about bossing people around and its about love, respect, and understanding. I just don't understand that. I just don't want him to think he always has the upper hand and why the heck should he have the final say in decisions!? First, I want to thank everybody for their inputs so far. My friend that's in the dom/sub relationship has told me that by seeing how we act, that we are kinda already doing the dom/sub relationship already, w/o knowing it. Which is true when I think of it...i dont like to make decisions sometimes so i let him, when i'm upset he's the person i run to and helps me figure it out. So if we are already doing some of that, I dont understand why I am so upset...about the logistics I guess. I'm so set on believing what i've seen on tv or what i've seen in abusive relationships that are not respectful or dom/sub, just plain hateful and mean. I've just been taught by my mom, that is still married to my dad, just unhappily. My dad wears the pants and she's just given up in having a say at anything..i guess i fear that. Don't know why I dont believe my hubby when he's said over and over he wants to share houswork as we are, he wants me to work, he wants me to have a say, just dont argue so often The two examples of when I should just say ok are the two times we had a big fight about nothing last week. First fight was when i wanted to buy a gift for a friends child for xmas. I knew we didnt have the money, but I wanted to get it for her anyway. My husband said that we cannot get it because we have no extra money this month. I knew we didnt but I got all upset anway and yelled...even thought I Knew he was right. If i'd have said ok and then had time to think, I would have realized it was dumb to argue when i knew i shouldnt have been buying thing we cant afford. I just thought it was bad if he automatically thought he was right and i was wrong. The second time if happened was when i thought i lost money in my pocket, i found it a minute later. He said put that in your purse so you dont lose it. I got mad and told him not to tell me what to do, I'm not a child. And what did i do a few min later, put it in my purse. I argue for no reason sometimes, that what my parents did too.  more

Hello all! I am a nineteen year old woman who is dating a thirty seven year old man. I love him to death and he loves me too. I work a full time job as a preschool teacher and i support my self I am not leaning on him and I was stable before this relationship. I have an issue with our relationship, and its not him or myself with whom I have the problem. Everywhere we go I am constantly on edge, because people assume that I am his daughter, and I am constantly in defense of my right to my position as his equal as his partner. We have become very serious and as I look in to our future I don’t like the fact that I I have tried to dress differently but some how my attempts to dress older have either made me look like a bag lady or for lack of a better word a slut. Please give me some advice! /Users/mays/Desktop/tn.jpeg my boyfriend is 6 4 and i and 5 5 im not flat chested, Im thick which is why i think i end up looking like a slut. Resolved Question: ๏

Hi all, I keep on hearing about how Islam disrespecting women + men & women are not equal in Islam. But after i read this article which will find below, i am not sure what to think : In Islam, men and women are different from each other and each has their respective roles. Honoring and respecting women in Islam is a sign of a good, wholesome character and an unadulterated nature. The Messenger of Islam, Muhammad said: "The best of you are the best of you towards their wives." (Tirmidhi) The woman is also the first person to whom a man must act righteously, maintain ties with, and treat well. When a man asked the Messenger of Islam, Muhammad to whom he should show the best companionship, he replied: "Your mother." He said, "Then who?" He said, "Your mother." He said, "Then who?" He said, "Your mother." He said, "Then who?" He said, "Your father." (Bukhari) The Messenger of Islam, Muhammad said: "Women are the twin halves of men." (Abu Dawud) Women are equal to men in their humanity. They are not the source of sin nor are they the reason Adam was expelled from Jannah (Heavenly Gardens). Women are equal to men in their individuality. They neither lose their names nor the names of their family upon marriage. They do not fade away and blend into the identity of men. Women are equal to men in regards to reward and punishment in this life as well as the next. Women are equal to men in that Islam seeks to maintain and uphold their honor and chastity. Women are equal to men in that they have a right to inheritance, as do men. Women are equal to men in that they have full right to do as they please with their wealth. Women are equal to men in regards to the obligation of shouldering the responsibility of social reform. Women are equal to men in their right to receive an education and proper upbringing. Woman and man have an equal share of rights in matters pertaining to good rearing, proper teaching and caring. Islam assures that when applying these rights of women they would be put at a higher position. • Women have the right to provisions from her husband for all her needs and more. If she’s not married then she has the right to provisions from her brother(s). If she doesn’t have brothers then the closest of kin to her. • A woman has the right to keep all of her own money. She is not responsible for maintaining the family financially. • Women have the right to get sexual satisfaction from her husband. • A woman has the right to get custody of her children in case of divorce unless she is unable to raise them for a valid reason. • Women have the right to re-marry after divorce or after becoming a widow. The Prophet of Allah said: "Whoever has three daughters or three sisters, and fears Allah in their guardianship, will be together with me in Paradise like this." He indicated with his index and second fingers. (Ahmad & others ) http://www.womeninislam.ws/en/  more

Resolved Question: Why are women such hippocrits?

I mean this in the nicest possible way. You always hear how women say men and women should be treated the same and how there should be equal rights etc yet you hear women complain how men shouldnt hit women. Granted they shouldnt but men shouldnt hit men either? Why be so biased, like yeah its ok if a man gets hit. Female only gyms too. Whats the deal with that? This is so hippocritical, seriously. If you are so into the whole equality thing, you really shouldnt only use it when it suits you on certain things. Edit: Some women, not all. Mainly feminists.  more

Resolved Question: Why are modern men such wimps?

I am wondering what happened to real men. The guys I see today are ruled by their wives and girlfriends. They let their girlfriends drive them around. They do housework and change diapers. Open Question: Did Proposition 8 (CA) need a Notwithstanding clause to establish marriage violating Sec 7?

1. I have no background in Law. 2. I am not yet stating my position on Proposition 8. I have been re-reading Proposition 8 and some California laws at http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/.const/.article_1 , and I am wondering what Proposition 8 will really do. It appears that instead of executing the sentiment behind the majority vote, it will instead deform _all_ Californian marriage. I ask this because the linked text in the Californian constitution appears as though it can only be derailed by explicitly superseding statements, whereas the text of Proposition 8 just redefines marriage in a very straightforward way, with _no_further_comment_on_implications_. So apparently it is supposed to act concurrently with Proposition 8. ???. If that is the case, then doesn't it go back to interpretation? Why doesn't/didn't Proposition 8 explicitly strike down the Supreme Court's interpretation? Since it most clearly didn't (Proposition 8 was hardly a paragraph, and just a definition), doesn't the May interpretation still stand? If the May interpretation still stands, doesn't it rule that "Marriage is between a man and a woman, and hence inherently defies Equal Protection (see May ruling) and hence cannot be supported by the state"??? Why is the Prop so simple and vague? Or is there some set of precedents I am missing completely? For those who are familiar with the due processes and interpretations, please comment on how the marriage amendment will interact with the rest of the constitution. Thank you for reading and answering.  more

Complaints were lodged with the Swedish government in June against the state-run retail pharmacy Apoteket, alleging illegal sex discrimination, in that its stores stock sexual aids that benefit women (e.g., vibrators) but none that particularly benefit men. Said one complainer, "(A) woman with a dildo is seen as liberated, strong and independent, whereas a man with a blow-up plastic vagina is viewed as disgusting and perverted." The government's Equal Opportunities Ombudsman rejected the complaints. [The Times (London), 8-12-08] Steph I've heard you buy more copper top batteries than anyone I know  more

Resolved Question: For Opponents of Proposition 8 (Same-Sex Marriage), a question.?

Given the following facts: 1. That gay individuals have the same potentials and short-comings as anyone not gay, that gay individuals can be just as trustworthy, brave, and sensible or as selfish, hateful, and moronic as anyone not gay - 2. That gay couples who want their relationships legally recognized HAVE THE RIGHT to the same legal protections and provisions as straight couples who also have their relationships legally recognized - ---------- Nevertheless, what is the legal basis for the insistence on the word "marriage?" It is understandable that gay couples want their confirmed relationships (in some jurisdictions: "Civil Unions") to be accounted the same rights, respect, and dignity as straight couples who are legally married. But wanting something, even something that is reasonable, does not necessarily mean that such a notion can be supported by legal reasons. To explain, let's say a hypothetical law was passed: In County X of State Y, legal relationships are: Marriage: Man and Woman Civil Union: Man and Man, and Woman and Woman These 2 relationships are accorded the following rights: 1, 2, 3, etc. ------ Besides the desire to reinforce equality and bring about tolerance and acceptance, are there any other reasons that can be put forth for the specific insistence on the word "marriage?" Again, when a person says they are "married" they get a certain amount of respect and recognition, gay couples want equal recognition for their relationships and this is REASONABLE and UNDERSTANDABLE. But does this desire ITSELF merit the inclusion of same-sex unions into "marriage?" Or are there other reasons? And if so, what are they? I feel it's necessary to bring up one final point: It's not "Separate but Equal" in the sense that Separate but Equal involved physical institutions, available equipment, funding, etc. whereas this Proposition 8 is simply words on a piece of paper - Gay Wedding Chapels and Non-Gay Wedding Chapels will be furnished according to how much the couples can afford, not by their inherent gay or non-gay status. Homophobic vandals determined to strike will target a chapel whether that chapel is performing "civil unions" or same-sex "marriages." The word "marriage" won't prevent bigots from immediately distrusting a gay individual or their partner, while the words "civil union" won't by themselves necessarily cause a person to disparage or look down on a gay couple (Unless that person was already inclined to prejudice). A gay person wants to turn to his/her partner and say "We're married." or "We're getting married." "We're going to share our lives together like so many other couples before us in human history." OK, GOT IT. Are there other reasons though, for the insistence on the specific word "marriage?" Edit: So far only chemengy and kookooachoo have addressed the question. The other answers are already covered in the question: - Please don't answer with religious text, religion is not relevant for this question. - This question is about the word "marriage." Not the rights currently associated with it. It is already accepted here that gay couples deserve the same rights as straight ones. BUT why should the word "marriage" be legally extended to gay couples if : - It is understandable that gay couples want to profess love for one another and want dignity and equality. Answering with this is stating the obvious. The question is about the word "marriage" itself. - Gay couples are not having the "right to marry" TAKEN from them in the larger scope of American history (In recent Californian history, yes). Gay couples are now FIGHTING for the RIGHT to ENTER into a legally recognized relationship that will be called "marriage." DW2020 brings up an interesting point about practical benefits. Using the word "marriage" would indeed make it easier for current institutions to immediately attribute all applicable rights. It's one thing to change the law code, it's another to go into every company, office, loan office, etc. and have them amend their practices.  more

Resolved Question: (cleaner question)Is it possible to convince a man that there is nothing to fear?

I mean marriage wise. I know for sure it that is is not because he is missing out on other women or that he will get tired of getting the same person to sleep with... My boyfriend is not that kind of guy, in fact he is very convincing man, he has been my friend since freshmen year of high school for about 5 years, we dated after friendship and it just too true no deny that our love is true. However the talk about marriage seems to be such a taboo subject for the both of us, for when the subject comes to our mind we do our best to change it and pretend it never happened. Today he mentioned that when we both get a good career and equal rights is granted in California for once. (We strongly find it unfair that straits can marry but gays can’t) He will propose to me… then he thought about it and said “never mind forget I said that” then seem melancholy for the rest of the night. This topic is just as scary for me as it is for him because I fear of fearing him. I NEVER start the subject on him, he is usually the one that starts it first but then I start to act dumb about the subject because I don’t know what to say without freaking him out, even if we are talking many from now. People say money shouldn't matter in a relationship but we both have strong beliefs in financial responsibility and I have the feeling that perhaps the answer to all this is that I just need to finish college and get a good career and then he will more likely present a proposal. Could I perhaps be correct? Is my financial responsibility the key to our future success? (yes I asked this question already but some people just have to have things asked their way) I never said i was ready for it. I just want to make sure it is their for the future and not be like this forever  more

Do you think in some relationship the woman get the short end of the stick? Or do men always get the short end of the stick? Is it possible for a relationship to benefit the man more than the woman? "Again, there is the assumption that women are hormonal but men are moved more by logic. But the truth is men are as hormonally driven as women. In fact, men have a number of hormonal cycles: Part 3: What is up with these attitudes? "In my opinion, there's just something about the man in the family....being the rock, the dad, the father figure that the family looks up to and leans on.." Men just get all the stress. Why can't it be the mother figure everybody looks up to and leans on. Women are supposed to be the emotional rock and the one everyone leans on. Resolved Question: Atheists...who is more in need of forgiveness, non-christians or Jesus?

Someone just asked the question "if Jesus came to you offering his forgiveness, would you go with him?" I think they have it backwards...If Jesus came back today asking for forgiveness for being the "leader" of a religion that has slaughtered millions of innocent men, women and children...a religion responsible for giving christians "justification" for hating Jews, homosexuals and people of color...a religion responsible for numerous wars fought in the name of Jesus..a religion reponsible for denying women equal rights for centuries...etc..etc...would you/could you find it in your heart to forgive him? Or would you be more inclined to damn Jesus to an eternity of pain and suffering for allowing his followers to bring about massive amounts of pain and suffering on humanity? Haha...ok...clarification..IF Jesus was really god...and if the christian religion was true...  more
