We've known each other since we were 3-4 (12 years), but we've only been friends for 1-2 years, and I've had a crush on him for 1-1 1/2 of those years. I used to think that there was no way he liked me, 'cause he is so amazing and is really popular, outgoing and confident etc. and I am not. I know that I am in love with him, and it hurt me deeply to think that he didn't feel anything for me like what I feel to him. However, he would (every time we saw each other) come up to me, say hi, ask me how my week was etc. (he even said my plait looked really nice when I wore one for the first time in years). He persisted even when I didn't respond with much (because I was so shy and nervous), but I dismiised it because I thought he felt sorry for me because I didn't have anyone to talk to. Anyhoo, at the start of this year, a new girl came to our church who was really nice, popular, outgoing, confident etc. (you see where I'm going). They'd only known each other for about 3 months, but he was calling her her nickname (it took him 10 years to call me mine), inviting her to his house etc. (I've never been to his house ever). He was also always talking to HER whenever they saw each other, having better conversation witrh her, and practically ignoring me. It was so painful, I just got so depressed when I saw them together and became even more shy. I deeply regretted not being more friendly when he did talk to me, as sometimes we got on quite well. I told myself that if he ever started conversing with me again, I would be more confident. That went on for about 1-2 months. She's on holidays in Europe at the moment, and he's started talking to me again, and coming up to me. I have been more confident, and seeing him more as my equal, rather than above me. About a month back, I noticed that when he lent over the food table, he paused and looked at me for about 10 seconds (he didn't notice I noticed). Also, one week, we were sitting next to each other in this small room with lots of people going in and out, but we were still talking, and he asked me a few questions to help him with what he was doing on the computer. Another week, I was walking past him when he purposely stopped me and asked me how my week was. A few weeks back, his older brother said something rude to him, he over reacted and went home. His brother suggested I text him saying that we missed him etc. This is what I wrote: We miss you youth is never the same without you. [my name] +. I sent it using my friends (who knows I like him) phone because I left mine at home. On the way back she texted him as her, and he said to say hi to me, which was a bit of a shock. This week, he came up to me again asked me how my week was, and [it seemed nervously] said that I looked 'nice' tonight. I responded with a curt thanks as I was soooo shocked (I didn't think he noticed me in any way). We talked for ages, and it was as though the entire year so far was wiped away and we were friends like before. We were having a discussion about when we first met, and on the way homw with mum i found out he was right and I was wrong, so I sent him a semisemisemi-flirty text message telling him, and he sent one back. We texted a bit more, until my credit ran out. Does he like me????? Also, do you think I should try to persue something, or just leave it. Also, I am having a formal this year at my all-girls school, and I could ask him to it, but should I???? (He's a different school, year above, and most of my friends are just going as a big group). I owned 250 shares of AIG and they performed a 1-20 reverse split, which would have turned the number of shares I have to 12.5. Etrade only gave me 12 shares so I lost my .5 share, which equaled 10 shares. I figure they can't give you a half-share, but I thought if anything they would round up or at least make it a complete share. Instead, they took the half share away so essentially I lose out on it. Can anyone explain more about what happens to half shares after a reverse stock split? more

I had a room in my home that I rented under a 6 month lease to a 30 year old man with his mother as a co-signor. He paid 700.00 in rent each month plus an equal share of the utilities and had a 600.00 deposit. The tenant paid rent on July 1st, 2009 and at 3am on July 3rd, 2009, he flipped out on alcohol breaking dishes and kicking the walls in his rented room. The police were called and beat on his door but he played possum and did not respond...so they left. Today, I confronted his mother on the phone and him in person and told them both that he needed to move out immediately as we were afraid of him. They resisted it initially but after several minutes of reasoning they both agreed and he packed up his belongings and left. Everything was fine until he had everything packed into his mother's car. Then he started swearing at me and my wife and threatening us physically. It ended with him refusing to return the keys because he wanted his rent and deposit refunded. I calmly pointed out that his violating the terms of the lease and voluntarily leaving, although at my verbal request, occured as a result of his own behavior and that I would not suffer the loss of rent as a result of his deliberate and wrongful behavior. I pointed out that we still have a lease in place and I am entitled to collect rent until I find another tenant. As he was not evicted, but left of his own accord...I feel I have no obligation to refund his rent or account for his deposit until I: I find a tenant to take his place. Make the necessary repairs to the room and have a invoice for him for the damages Invoice him for the outstanding utilities. He left amid a storm of cursing and threats...but they did eventually leave. In an effort to mitigate my damages, I have run another ad online and solicited ten people posting in search of a rental room on Craigslist which is where I find tenants...and how I found him. The room is empty and he still posseses the keys. I will change the locks tomorrow and the costs for that will also be part of his final statement. I did not force him to drink, do damage and act in a threatening and scary manner...so I feel that I should not suffer the 700.00 rental loss. He left without any legal notices so he did so voluntarily after being told that I would not be refunding any rent until I had a new tenant in place...and then only if it happened prior to the end of July...in the correct, pro-rated amount. My handyman has given an estimate of 400.00 to repair and paint the room and the private bathroom and to repair a door frame he broke while drunk. The locks will cost an additional 100.00 (45.00 for the hardware and 55.00 for labor). His share of the utilities are usually 110.00/month...so I am already at 610.00 on a deposit of 600.00. I have told him to be patient and that as soon as I rent the room...he will get a pro-rated portion of the rent back provided I can get another tenant before the 1st of August. I also advised him that should the room not rent out, he and his mother would be responsible for the August rent as it is the final month left on the 6 month lease. I intend to detail all of this in a statement and to provide him with the receipts and/or a handyman invoice within 14 days as required under California law if he will provide me with an address to send the statement to. He is currently refusing to give me a new address and now calls continuously threatening legal action. While I am aware that anyone can sue for any reason...I want to know if I am doing anything improper? Please advise more

heres something i found and it was an eyeopener: Thinking back to myself girls always say something like revealing their self is how do you say it, empowering. But if you really look back it is how you say demeaning. I mean this gives guys the right to think their better than us. Would the people fighting for Women's Right look at us and be ashamed because instead of trying to focus futures of bright young women we are exposing them instead? I think so. Since when are the Pussycat Dolls a good role model? They wear barely anything out in public. Is that suppose to make men respest women? No wonder most men don't think of us as individuals. We demean ourselves. Why is Hilary Clinton always percieved as bad? So shes not a hot young model and her clothes are not revealing, does that really make her any less of a politian? What if she were a man, the would you vote for her? I saw a poster of Bratz dolls, the children toys. They were barely wearing anything. What I am really wondering is why someone would think thats a good toy for young girls? They are going to think well if the Bratz doll wears it why can't I? Then why can't she. Infact if girls are going to act like this, posing in racy shot and barely wearing anything, what future do they have anyway. Yes some girls are very accompished but look aroung and you will see what i see. We are not equals and we did this to ourselves. Do you think the current political atmosphere is cheating you? Do you wonder why you have to pay more taxes than another person who earns exactly the same income you earn? Most people have no clue about politics, they think it is about gays, or tree huggers or capitalists, race or religion, but it is not. It is about money and taxes. It always has been that way, but the last election threw it in our face. The poor, pay little or no taxes, and are in the bottom 51% of the country. Obama recoginzed this and said give me your vote and I will tax the winners in life more and give it to you. That was a no brainer and he won. Most poor want to punish those who want to get ahead in life and reward those who do not. Sometimes known as Socialism and at its worst, known as communism. They want anyone but themselves to pay for unemployment benefits, welfare benefits, health coverage, your police dept, roads and parks etc. They do not want fair taxation. Such as everyone pays an equal rate, even if we earn the same!!! The poor have elected those who promise to tax the successful at a higher rate for decades. The even want to punish those who want to try to better themselves. Because if you earn the same as I do and you work for the government or some dead end job and I want to better myself and be my own boss, and go out on a limb, and take a chance so that I might earn more, I have to pay more taxes than you do - - even though we both make the same. That 15% tax is the selfemployment tax that penalizes me for wanting to get ahead in life and as long as you and I earn the same for merely wanting to earn more, I have to pay more taxes than you do. Now tell me why I should have to pay more taxes than you do if we both make the same? more

I was never Girly in my life, but there is one thing that is a lil' Girly about me. I have never liked a guy before. I always thought of them as my equals. My friends. I always hung out with them. We very often played basketball and some football, some baseball. Then when I switched schools all the guys started to move away and I was left with just some female friends on my street. I waited. Hung out with guys at school, and then just at the begining of the school year i met a new guy ( he will remain nameless) as soon as i laid eyes on him i felt different. I made myself ignore the feeling for the year, but just as school let out I felt really hurt as i saw him leave. Open Question: is this a good plan for losing weight?

hi im 17, about 5'4" tall, and i weigh between 150-170 (not sure what my exact weight at the time is) and you can say im sorta "chubby" and curvy. i want to lose at least 20-30 pounds, 40 would be my limit, gain muscle and burn fat off, i was gonna start this week, but since its a holiday weekend (4thof july) i decided to start next week for sure. plus i start CGuard practices also next week so i have a bit of a plan for exercise etc, i just had a couple questions to ask: if i started on a "protein diet" what exactly should i be eating? is that diet good enough for my goals or should i try another kind? and is there any exercises other than running i can do? like certain cardio exercises? to burn fat AND gain muscle? its hard for me to run because of my asthma problems..so i am looking for any equal alternatives. please give any advice you have. i'd appreciate it (: thanks! p.s. im really looking forward to starting my senior year with a great attitude and look! so any advice and motivation is great :Dim not down to use pills or anythingg likee that so keep that in mindd >< more
