Open Question: Why do people from Morocco, Egypt and the rest of north africa deny being black?
They are in the continent so guess what? They are African Americans, and you know what that equals? BLACK!!! Why can't north africans accept that they're black? They are from Africa and africa is diverse, just cuz they brown doesn't mean they ain't black. Why can't north africans accept their blackness? It used to be that if you came from ANYWHERE in Africa you were black, now they think they're arab?BLACK = AFRICAN AMERICAN MOROCCO = AFRICA SOMEONE FROM AFRICA = AFRICAN AMERICAN moreOpen Question: Has anyone had the misforturne of watching a show called Whale Wars?
It is a left wing vehicle for glorifying eco-terrorists who are impeding Japanese research vessels in the Antarctic. You will never see a bigger group of pansies with no seamanship skills whatsoever. Their so called attacks involve throwing stink bombs. That's it!!! If they manage to lob a stink bomb on one of these research vessels, the attack was a success. Don't you love it, attack??? They have these little RIB they try to launch but seem to sink them more than they are successful so much as getting them in the water. Should they actually launch one, some sissy bumps their head and they have to come back. Half the equipment doesn't work on all their boats. They can't even plot and execute a simple course. These fools use a boat not even rated to operate in ice? Add in the fact that half the people hate the other half. Those who get along sing cum-ba-ya and hold hands. The first mate can't even read a compass. And some idiot thought this makes for good TV. I marvel these clowns are not the poster children for the darwin awards. It's just a matter of time. If you want to watch losers pretending to do something, in such amateurish form that they are a greater danger to themselves than anything, tune in for the stupidity. Airing this program is equal to glorifying drunk drivers and their stuggle to ditch cops. moreOpen Question: Take the Yu-Gi-Oh! 20 Questions QUIZ!?

I have noticed a disturbing trend on this website and in society in general recently. Some people are saying that we should all "tolerate" all beliefs. They say that we should "respect" the beliefs of others. I'm all for that. Most of the time. But before we just throw out a blanket idea like that, maybe we should look a little closer at the ideas which we are asking everyone to have "respect" or "tolerance" for. Before I endorse something, or even tolerate it, much less respect it, I want to understand it and evaluate it in order to see if that particular proposition DESERVES my tolerance, respect, or endorsement. Now these are different words with different meanings. I can tolerate people cheating on their spouse. It doesn't harm me. Who cares, right? Do I respect someone who does that? No, I do not. Do I endorse that type of behavior or want to be associated with the people who do it? Hell no. Let's take these religious ideas which we are supposed to respect or have tolerance for and evaluate whether or not those ideas warrant our respect or tolerance. Right off the bat, I can say that I do not endorse religion or have any respect for it or its adherents. I don't feel that it deserves any respect for many reasons which I won't go into. Let's evaluate whether or not we should tolerate it. How many people have been murdered in the name of some imaginary god? I'd say billions with more dying every single day. How many times have religious people tried to pass laws which discriminate against someone or deny rights or equal protection to someone? They still do this every single day. How many times have religious people tried to force our children to believe in their gods through indoctrination in public schools? Again, they do it all the time. I find these things unacceptable. I simply cannot respect or endorse them. In fact, I cannot even tolerate them. If I do tolerate these situations, then what makes anyone think that they will ever change? If I allow these people to do whatever they want to do to me and everyone else without a challenge, what is to stop them from continuing to engage in the same behaviors indefinitely? There has always been injustice in the world. But whenever and wherever that injustice was fought against or overcome, it was always fought by those of us who would had no tolerance for intolerable propositions. Tyranny was always overturned by those of us who would show no respect for treatment which deserved none. Cruelty, discrimination, and bigotry were always put to an end by those of us who had no acceptance of unacceptable actions or treatment. I hold no reverence for religious ideas, rules, or beliefs. They deserve none. I will have no tolerance for them and no respect for those who hold them. I will never, as long as I draw breath, allow the injustices committed against the human race by the followers of religion to go unchallenged. I will fight them as long as I have strength left to fight. If that makes me intolerant, then I say that I am proud to be so. moreOpen Question: I need a strong answer for my boyfriend help!?
I have been involved with my current boyfriend of six months for almost two years. I have never been interested in another boy since. But since I don't have much experience or example I go off of what I know. I am very smart. But lately it seems like all my boyfriend does is disappoint me. Prior to this week we spent together( sleeping at his friend that he lives with house), our relationship is horrible to me. I am the one with all the giving. I do anything and drop anything for him. But he never talks to me or contacts me for days. He spends some time with me then ignores me for some time. He says we are equals and I feel like by saying that he is giving himself the right to disrespect me. Let me tell you I fell head over heals for this boy and we had quite a romance. But lately our relationship is horrible. I'm always upset about him. He doesn't make me feel good or special. I always end up and angry or hurt by him. He is going to be a freshmen in college and I am going to be a sophomore. Yes, young, I know. But believe me I am way past my years. He lives with his friend and is not motivated to do anything it seems. He is addicted to World of Warcraft and I can't stand it. Video games make me angry. He could be doing worse things or addicted to worse things right? Or are there guys who are not addicted to anything major at all? I also secretly sometimes think there is something going on between them. But neither of them will admit it. I am pretty certain his friend is depressed and gay but I don't think he is. I DONT KNOW WhaT HIS PROBLEM IS. I also don't know how I am going to handle him in college(community). Because I would like to be with him a lot and also want no stress. This is a lot of information, I know. But what is the best solution? Keep in mind he is my perfect guy, just not working to his potential. (Our story is cuter than the notebook, ask if you want;)PS. Sophomore in high school.I have tried to talk to him numerous times. He says he can't promise change. But he will? I've talked to him a lot. It is so hard because I love him so much and don't like to give up.I have tried to talk to him numerous times. He says he can't promise change. But he will? I've talked to him a lot. It is so hard because I love him so much and don't like to give up.SO HERE IS THE STORY (: A year and a half ago, I went to a Rec Center & saw a boy playing dodge ball. I thought I would be lucky if he even looked at me. A few weeks later I came back and I met him in the game room! We started texting right after that. We were both in dead end relationships and deeply confused. We flirted occasionally at the Rec center and let me tell you, I had a crush. ;) He was older, cute, and buff. What else would a girl my age ask for? Well not only was he great outside, but on the inside as well. He was one of the wisest and smartest boys I'd ever met in our generation. Also someone I could relate to. We eventually hit it off for a month or so and had more than the ideal relationship anyone could hope for. It was dangerous, exciting, and romantic. I'm lucky to have such and experience. But as they say, good things must come to an end. And shortly it did. We we're vicious, and I was and I was heartbroken. I moved to Chicago for my first semester of high schooland still, all I thought about was him. I never kissed another boy after. We started talking a little bit again, normally, and every time my phone vibrated I got butterflies. We were totally flirting and I was excited. :) Then I came out to AZ to visit for Xmas. The second I saw him it was like things never changed. And unfortunatly, I had to go back. He talked me through every second. He never let me feel alone. A few months later I got to move back. And guess who came to get me. Fairytale ending or what? Ever since then we have been closer than ever. I couldn't give him up if I tried. ( I have severe family problems and pretty much raised myself so far. I have never been involved with drugs or substances. He seemed like my miracle. But things are just changing. Is it a rough patch?) moreOpen Question: Counter that counts how many times a specific image has been displayed/loaded?
Hey guys, here's a problem: I am part of a community that uses the PHPBB format, so that means I can only add phpBB code to my profile. I want to add a counter to my profile but phpBB doesn't allow for scripts. Neither will phpBB load the CGI graphical counters out there. So I'm thinking, why not add a jpeg to my profile like this: And then have a counter on my domain/server that counts how many times the jpeg has been displayed (or loaded). This would equal the number of times my profile has been visited. Is there a script I can setup on my server that will count the times the image loaded and then....return the counter number as a graphical image, so that I can display it using phpBB code?? Any ideas are appreciated, thanks! moreOpen Question: Ex husbands new wife....?
So my ex husband and father of my two oldest children just recently remarried. Which is great I'm happy for him for the most part his wife and I get along great. Our son moved in with them about a year ago. He had some issues dealing with the fact his dad and I split up (he was 1 at the time and doesn't even remember us being together he's 8 now), and asked to live there. Everything was fine for a while we came up with a way for both of us to see the kids and spend equal time with them until about 2 months ago. Around Mother's day and a month before they were married his wife started to cross boundaries that I don't agree with. Mother's day was my weekend as it should have been, and she had asked if the kids could spend the night before at their house because her father was coming to town and wanted to meet the kids, but he was only going to be in town for a few hours. I agreed on the condition that she promised to bring me the kids first thing in the morning. Needless to say she didn't she kept them until around 3 pm and refused to answer their phone all day. I would never in my life imagine doing that to their father on fathers day. My own family will call her and make plans for my kids with her as if I'm not their mother, and have no say. Which she seems to think is just fine. One day she decided to call me while I was at work and leave me a voicemail rambling on about I'm not sure what to end the call with basically claiming she was a better mother to my children than I am. I spoke with my ex a few times regarding the things going on which he seems to have no clue about. I finally got him on the phone the other day and ask him to meet with me so we could discuss how to fix the issues. So questions are..... Has anyone had to deal with a new wife and the same problems? and What should I say to my ex? Yes I realize they are married and she is in my kids live, but there are boundaries that no step parent should cross. I remarried and my husband never did or even come close to any of the things she has done. She has 2 kids of her own and they have one together. She's a stay at home mom while I work full time therefore have alot less time on my hands. My ex knows I'm not jealous of his relationship. We've spoke a little about the mothers day thing and he didn't know she kept them until I said something. Regardless of Mother's day being a day I can do anytime that really wasn't the point. The point was she didn't hold up her end of our deal when I didn't have to let them have the kids that day. I was 3 1/2 hours away with my kids and came back so the kids could go over there, and she knew it.Though it may sound like it I am very happy she loves my kids and my kids love her. I don't appreciate being treated as if I have no right to the children I gave birth to and raised.I'm by no means unfit my son lives with his father because he wanted to and I will do whatever I can to make my children happy...I fought letting him go for almost 2 years before I caved. My family calls her when my kids are with meWe have a daughter and a son together our son is living with them and our daughter lives with me. When my family calls her for plans with my daughter is when I get upset. She doesn't live there moreResolved Question: Don't you think it would sukk to be god?
I do. Gods do not exist, but if they did, wouldn't it sukk to be god? Think about it. He knows everything that will ever happen until the end of time itself. No surprises or uncertainty. No peers to keep him company. He has no equals which he could have an intelligent conversation with. What would be the point of talking about anything anyway? He already knows everything. Anybody he was talking to couldn't disagree with him either, he's always right, and wouldn't THAT be annoying? He can't even fight the boredom by going on vacation to someplace cool. He's already everywhere at once. Talk about being bored. I don't know if he has sexxx or not, but even THAT could get boring after a few hundred years. In fact, EVERYTHING would get boring after a while. Even having billions of humans to sing songs and worship you on their knees forever. I don't know what I would do to entertain myself for all eternity if I were god. Maybe I would make humans and set them up to fail so I could punish them. If I was a sick b*stard, of course. Oh well, it beats being bored, but even that would s*ck because I would already know how it turned out, just like everything else. I'll bet god is thinking "Is there no escape for me"? Being god would be eternal torture. Maybe he just doesn't want to suffer alone."Tommyknocker": I didn't really intend to address anyone personally, but after reading your answer, I felt compelled. "Yes it would suck to watch your own creations deny your very existence, kill your only son, defying your will at every turn." God does not exist, but if he did: His creations deny his existence because he refuses to show himself. HE sent his son to die. (John 3:16, remember?) One could not defy the will of a god unless one were permitted to do such a thing. (He gave "free will", remember?) moreOpen Question: Would This Plan Help the Economy ?
[CPA] This is quite perplexing.. ......... ......... Thursday, July 2, 2009 3:05 PM From: "Jan B." <pipersmama@yahoo. com> Social Security 2009 IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN ORDEMOCRAT! Propose this in 2009: START A BILL TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY SOCIAL SECURITY: (This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.) Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it. You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it.. After all, it is a great plan. For all practical purposes their plan works like this: When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. .. For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000..00 during the last years of their lives. This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries. Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives. Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA!!! ZILCH!!! This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds; "OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"! From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer),We can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits! Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made. That change would be to Jerk the Goldn Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. . Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us Then sit back...... And see how fast they would fix it! moreOpen Question: What is happening to me? (long. pls answer)?
I have an elder brother who has always been brilliant in everything (studies, sports, etc) and I am an average child in school (my score is always between 85% to 90%). The problem is that after my brother, everyone started expecting double from me and started praising him more. I like to listen to loud music and watch television sometimes, i like writing poems and singing (i am 14). My parents are home only once in a week (they are transferred at different places) and when they come, they only pay attention to my brother and the only thing they say to me is to go and study. In my summer vacations, my mom started giving me lectures about how good my brother was in everything, how obedient he was, etc and how bad I am (i listen to this all day) and she has problem about everything i do, she doesn't want me to have a separate room (she is all day in my room), she thinks that i waste time writing poems, she keeps a check on my phone records (if any of my friend calls, i can't go to a side and talk), she keeps a check on everything i do and i have so many restrictions on me. Recently, mom shouted on me again because i said that even i wanted some privacy and she started saying why? what is the thing that you can do without me looking but can't with me being there? and then she again started how good was your brother and all. The only thing I can do is cry in my bed, i tried to change but can't and all the time, i blame myself for being not equal to brother in studies and stuff and for being a bubbly girl, liking music and being emotional. i tried to change but i don't know why, but i can't change. Now, I am halfway through depression and i'm losing my control over my life. All i want is either to go to a deep depression or somehow, save myself from this (but then mom will have problems again). I am 20 and I keep noticing a lot of things that adults around me don't seem to know. Also based on the rantings online... many people across the country don't know what I consider pretty basic stuff. I was just wondering if there were certain things that the general public should all be generally aware of.. or know by a certain age? Or is it all down to your personality and life experience? AKA one person doesn't know more than another, they just know different things? I'm not saying i'm intelligent and of course adults almost always know more than me (due to their age alone) but to give you an example, something that really REALLY puzzled me was an incident recently where the whole country seemed to freak out because a Swastika was painted on something, and only a tiny percent of the population seemed to know or realise that 1, the Swastika was the wrong way around and 2, it is a Hindu symbol which is not evil and nothing to do with Nazis. It really disturbed me to think that so many people were so clueless. I am just wondering if most people don't pay very much attention, should they have known something like that? My 'life experience' only consists of about 10 good years, whereas people around me who are 50, 60 etc somehow didn't learn after 40 years something as simple as the Swastika symbol not always equalling evil. I am just wondering if that's something people should generally know by say, age 30.and I am aware that MOST people think of Nazis when they see it, and that is the most common usage of the symbol. That's not the point.Sorry if I offended anyone but the reason it stood out to me was the age difference and that I found out the Swastika thing so young. I just couldn't imagine living for 30 years and never hearing about it. But then again we can't know everything.. moreOpen Question: Isn't the snide text-book response to this question emblematic of the distorted society we live in today?
http://blogs.bnet.com/stanley-bing/?p=268 =========== 'Dear Stanley, I recently interviewed with a company where the team was led by a woman and included five female co-workers. I am a man and my concern is that I would not fit in. Further, I have heard recent statistics that a high percentage of the population would rather work for a man. I work for a company now where it’s the good ‘ol boys: I can golf, go out for drinks, swear, etc. in a corporate setting. Am I setting myself up for failure by taking a job in a female-dominant setting? The reason for the change is 100 percent salary based. Worried Walter Dear Walt, Hi there! Guess what? You’re a sexist! Congratulations on the fact that your disability has so far gone undiagnosed due to the environment in which you are working. It was only a matter of time before you were busted, and I’m happy to do the job. Your attitudes are very poor, my man. I’m not saying I don’t sympathize. It’s fun, if you’re a man, to work inside the cozy womb — if that’s the right word — of a gender-dominant group within a culture. But it’s like any other society where injustice is the law of the land: cozy for the guys in power, cold for those on the outside looking in. Just for fun, here are some of the indications that you’re suffering from chronic Sexist Butthead Syndrome, as demonstrated in your brief e-mail: 1. You went out of your way to find out the gender composition of the department you’d be working for; 2. You believe you would “not fit in,” which demonstrates your probably well-founded feeling that you don’t relate well to women in a professional environment; 3. You cite some troglodyte survey saying that a “high percentage of the population” would rather work for a man. Any man? As opposed to any woman? Nice job of generalizing, dude! 4. You use the phrase “good ol’ boys” without irony; 5. You are concerned that a better salary would not offset the loss of golf; 6. Your conviction that “females” do not drink or swear. My experience is that they do both quite nicely. At any rate, I believe there’s hope for you. You’re asking questions; that’s a good thing. You’re considering making a change in spite of your horrendous attitudinal liabilities. And the truth is, most men, particularly those of a certain age, have had to make the same shift and have done so splendidly. You’d be amazed how sexist attitudes eventually melt away when you are compensated well to have them do so. I think you should take the job. You’d be surprised at how the number of your fellow trolls has decreased in recent years. You need to get with the new program, pronto. What you’ll find out is that women make just as good — and just as bad — managers and colleagues as men do. Sometimes better. Sometimes worse. They do tend to cry a little bit more, but that’s another story altogether.' ================= First off I don't consider myself sexist - I support feminism in it's basic form - equal opportunities for women, and oppose female discrimination. However things like this get on my nerves quite a bit, I don't consider it feminist - merely a form of PC thought policing. Note the way the response is issued, it's based on an assumption from the given evidence that the questioner is sexist - almost in a computational manner the answerer issues a text-book PC "anti-misogynist" response. The hallmarks of this are passive aggressive undertones, masked by patronising the questioner, the use of nauseating Newspeak jargon i.e. "gender composition", "professional environment", "Sexist Butthead Syndrome", "gender-dominant group" - cosy terms designed to appear scientific, but the majority derive from sociological pseudoscience. So ultimately you have a man who prefers to work with men, probably set in old ways a bit, but fair do - is branded "sexist" for having a preference when it comes to gender. Many people like to choose whether or not their doctor (or GP) is a man or a woman - does this mean their sexist too? Should they be sent to the state correctional facilities for not thinking the way they should? Shouldn't workplaces promote diversity? Not just in terms of race, sex or sexuality - but progressive, libertarian, statist and conservative views? Isn't that being discriminatory - forcing them to change their ways like hive workers, conditioning their behaviours, and correcting them, like they're political dissidents? I'm all for gender equality, and equal opportunities - but that doesn't mean that statistically on the whole, there are differences between the sexes. Male and female bosses do often work in different ways, according large professional studies, not my own insignificant experience. Does that mean I'm a troglodyte, are those studies "troglodytes" - Are the participants in the studies olms? Are they also sexist as well as blind? I mean what the questioner is saying, is hardly that offencive, old fashioned yeah, but hardly enough to call hThere's a difference between being worried about fitting in in a female dominated work group and not wanting to work with women. If a woman is more productive working with other women, and prefers it, then let her do so - vice versa for men, and people who prefer to work with both sexes. Nothing sexist, just preference. moreOpen Question: How do you differentiate the function with a negative power?

I kept watching the videos over and over and over. Got quite obsessed about it. And whatever, whether he is guilty or not it is still sad in that he did represent a lot of human qualities that we all recognise. I just find, even the videos of him going to orphanages, there are only a couple before the alligations ,the rest are after. A lot of them are set up like in a studio. I have an open mind, I don't want to hear insults or the word pedophile on here, but suddenly after looking at his videos is it at all possible it was an act so that people thought he was innocent? Even the video where he stops because there is a bug on the stage, that could have been compeltely set up. Innocence and a bad childhood doesn't equal stupidity. I'm sure he was very with it to be able to sing songs that connected to people so well and concerts that made fans go crazy and to understand the problems of the world. And, even though it is a disgusting crime, you don't do that stuff without some twisted ideas that are deeply ingrained. Here (in New Zealand) there was a huge murder case where the trial was on the internet. We saw everything. I think, it would settle things if it was made public. The evidence that was shared at the trial so that the public can make their own choice about whether they think he is guilty or not rather than relying on trying to figure out whether the media were lying, he was lying, the boys were lying. It would stop all the gossiping. lol...sorry for the heading being overly dramatic. just wanted to capture your attention. this question is for everybody! it seems like everything is a sin to God doesn't it? If you don't believe in God, leave your opinion/comment anyways.. I liked to know what you think. -Masturbating is considered "sinful" even though its healthy. -Playing ouija boards --->sinful cause your messing with witchcraft (or some crap like that) -Looking at a hot guy or girl-----sinful cause your thinking naughty thoughts - Lieing (even if its a small one) ---sinful cause apparently all sins are "equal" -Gluttony=eating alot ( i do that for no reason O.O) -Being gay/lesbian/bi-----sinful for some, cause its against God. How is this possible!! Some people cant help that they are LGB! it happens when they are very young for many. I believe in God, but it angers me that some things in life are sinful when they shouldnt be. you cant avoid these things! Am i missing anything else? i think i am. Feel free to tell me what else is sinful that you think shouldnt! It's sad. Why does it seem like everything is a sin?Courage: i really liked your anwser!!! it was very well detailed. thank you for giving such a kick ass anwser. moreOpen Question: My Moped's Brake Doesn't Work!!?
I just bought a moped about 3months ago. I've only got 312 miles on it but my moped's right brake seems to be unoperable. I usually coast to stops and apply both brkes with equal pressure. Then one day it just was tough to pull it. It has increase pressure and won't pull as far as the other. My Cousin took a look at it and can't seem to find the reason. He says my oil and brake oil seems to be fine and my moped doesn't sound to have any mechanical dissfunction. I wanted to ask people before i went to a mechanic and spend untold fortunes just for them to expect it. moreOpen Question: How to "install' RAM?
I wanted to ask, because I'm totally useless when it comes to hardware and software (I don't even know what are those). So..my father bought some thing that he said it is RAM and put it in the computer (I mean he took off the shell and put the RAM there). After some months (2-3..I don't remember..maybe they were more) when I turned on the computer, a blue screen appeared in my face that said something like "error_IRQ_less or equal" (I don't remember very well. And I had to restart the computer many times and eventually, after many tries, it worked. And it kept me like this some days (because if I told my father right away he would make a big fuss over it). And until my father took off the RAM..(and I' m still not sure if it will work from now on.) And the question is..when I put/add (doesn't matter) RAM into your computer, do i have to install it somehow or somewhere? Thank you very much for your answers. moreOpen Question: What is an equation.....?
I need an equation where z equals something in terms of x and y. When x is 1 and y is one, the integer portion of z should be 7. When x is 1 and y is 2, the integer portion of z should be 8. When x is 2 and y is 2, the integer portion of z should be 6. When x is 1 and y is 3, the integer portion of z should be 9. When x is 2 and y is 3, the integer portion of z should be 8. When x is 3 and y is 3, the integer portion of z should be 4. It doesn't matter what the z value is for any other values of x and y. The integer portion of a number is the number with the decimal cut off. For example, the integer portion of 5.9 is 5. Thanks in advance for your help! I really need this equation! I can't figure it out! This is dissapointing. No one is answering! I found out the answer to this question. Do they ever remember or can he really cut me off cold?
We dated for 2 years and there was a lot of back and forth, as I was not sure I wanted to be with him at first. Unfortunately this tipped the scales in MY favour, when I really just wanted us to be EQUALS. But it led him to seem to want me more, and that's how it carried on. However, he told me that at the start of the year, he would be reconciling with his ex wife :-( They actually got remarried as they were actually divorced. He didn't seem keen to let me go at first, and I always wondered was there more to it than met the eye? But he still went back to HER. I hoped we could at least be friends, and so did he...but after chasing me for this friendship, he suddenly cut me off cold. We had so many good times together and I am struggling with the fact there was no closure. Please don't tell me to "move on" - I know I need to do that, but how? I have tried meeting new guys but no one measures up. I have read replies to similar questions, and people say things like the aforementioned "move on", as well as "stop obsessing" - please no unhelpful replies like this! I guess it doesn't matter if he thinks of me or not, but does anyone have any experience of their ex partner cutting them off, without really wanting to, or doing it for both our sakes? As in, we would all be treated equally by the authorities regardless of position in society, or skin color, etc. Like, if Madoff hadn't been arrested and put in jail, wouldn't people be complaining of equal rights violations due to his position of power? It goes deeper than this, of course - say if i just happened to walk into a pub and ask for a drink, but the barman ignored me and instead only served the pretty girl who was fluttering her eyes at him. Wouldn't that be a violation of my rights as an equal human being among human beings? People always talk about race, about nationality and religion and sexuality when it comes to equal rights, but doesn't the issue go MUCH deeper than that? moreOpen Question: Who can help me with SAT I Math (All multiple-choice)?

Apparently, 5 conservative members of the Supreme Court have sided with those other beacons of equal rights like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly and decided that all racism and discrimination is evil. Sounds good and right on the face of it doesn't it? But, if that had been the dominant philosophy guiding the federal government and the Supreme Court at the time of the Civil War, would we have fought the Civil War at all? Wouldn't we still have slavery? Regarding the current handful of super rich fascists who own and control everyone and everything on the planet, do you think they represent in their composition all races, both (all?) genders, all sexual orientations, all minorities? How about the House, Senate, Supreme Court, Executive branch? I know we've made some strides in electing women, blacks, Asians and other minorities to positions of power, but have any of those races truly arrived in terms of representational numbers that are anywhere near the numbers of those they represent within the general population? Are poor blacks, hispanics, Asians, women etc, really supposed to trust rich white males to look out for their best interests? If these races are underrepresented, as I believe they are, is it because the individuals within these groups are somehow just basically inferior to whites or because white people are really good at holding on to positons of power and very reluctant to give them up? What I see is a racist, rich, conservative Supreme Court trying to dress up their racism as color blindness. And, yes, Justice Thomas can be a black Justice who is also a racist for whites and against blacks. Unfortunately, an over abundance of money and power can make anyone think like a rich, white, a**h***. Btw, in case you're wondering, I happen to be a white guy. My 18 year old brother just got his first job at a fast food chain for the summer before going to college. He is way metro... not gay. His new boss told him the other day he needed to take off his bracelet he was wearing and hide his necklace b/c it made him look gay. WTF? Now my bro has this complex that everyone thinks he's gay. We all have no prob w/ gay people, but my brother doesn't want people to get the wrong impression, esp going to another state where he knows no one for college. He asked me how he can be "more manly"... I'm thinking he should sue the crap out of this place b/c his boss totally violated Equal Opportunity laws! The other option would be to ignore this situation entirely, b/c he is going to college in 2 months. What should my brother do? moreVoting Question: Why get a college degree if it doesn't pay?
I currently work as a DOD civilian employee. I make (started at) $18.26 an hour. That's pretty dang good. I am currently half way to getting my BA in Marketing. I've been looking at getting a marketing job out of college that pays equal to or greater than my current job but there isn't anything close to it (I'm looking at working in Denver or the surrounding area). So what is the whole point if I can't get a job out of college? The other problem is that jobs that pay $45,000 for marketing all want me to have like 5 years expierience. Well unless I have a degree I can't get that experience. What say you? moreResolved Question: Why is BET a racist channel?
I've asked this question before and got close to abuse as answers. Basically, most people said it was because the like of ABC, CW, FOX etc only show white people. I couldn't agree more! However, the answer is not to further segregate the white and black community by having a channel devoted soley to black people. I mean, these other channels do have black people on their shows (albeit not equal), BET doesn't even play the great music of white people. And that is RACIST. I do not care what you say? If BET wanted a channel that was more inclusive of the black community, they should have making one. Not a channel that avoids another race completely. If every race did this we would have: Philippine TV Asian TV European TV etc. I just think, in order to be more included, don't create more segregation. . . Division = Separation = Hate = Resentment = WW2/Aparthied/Holocaust....Wouldn't their be uproar if MTV said: "At this years MTV Music Awards, we will not be inviting and black artists or awarding their work" I mean, there would be riots !I understand why BET was created. But I just think it's a bit hipocrytical. I mean, it's rather sad that the past taught us not to see color, yet, BET is blind...They only play Eminem because he is a rap artist - rap was created by the black community, hence...OMG PEOPLE ! I AM SAYING IT *CREATES* SEGREGATION. When I see Flo Rida, I don't say "Oh, look, he is a black artist" ... I say "He is an artist" .... obviously BET still separate themselves ... and this shouldn't be. moreOpen Question: Give your thoughts on this situation (A MANS right to choose)?
A man and woman have been together for 6 years, they both work, are entitled to paid maternity leave and are 'ready' for a child. The woman gets pregnant and decides that she doesn't want a baby, after telling the man for years that she did. They split up. Road 1) The man says he will adopt the child when it's born and will bring it up himself (and pay any medical bills throughout her pregnancy). The woman flatly refuses and books and abortion. Is this a fair and equal decision? Road 2) The man says he will adopt the child when it's born and will bring it up himself (and pay any medical bills throughout her pregnancy). The woman flatly refuses and cuts contact with him and signs the adoption papers, telling them she doesn't know who the father is. is this fair? I'm asking this because of a friend of mine in a similar situation. At what point does a man get the right to choose about the life (or lack of) of his future child? Yes, it is a womans body, but that unborn child, foetus, collection of cells whatever you want to call it, was created by him as well as her, so why doesn't he get a choice? Why is it that, even when the father WANTS to be a Father he has no say in the matter? What if he doesn't want the child? Is it fair that he is forced to pay for a child he didn't want? If a woman refuses any other options stating something like 'i'll do it alone' why should he be forced to pay?So you think it was right for this woman, to not only LIE about what she wants for 6 years but also to allow him NO CHANCE to care for the child he wanted but she didn't. The only person playing is the woman, she's playing games with the poor lads head and heart, it's sick! She chose the second option. I'm currently trying to help, both emotionally and with the adoption side, but she wont budge, he's having to wait 3 months until childs born for a DNA. She's even refused to give scans to him. They split up because she doesn't want the baby. this is the argument they had infront of me (which is why i'm so involved in it) her: ' I don't want this baby, you want one go find someone else. now either sit down and shut up or leave' him: ' i just want to understand, for 6 years you've said you wanted one and we're ready' her: 'well i don't now and haven't for years'Thats what i'm trying to say know it all, why should women be the only ones with rights when it comes to the 'potential' life of an unborn child? Both of them are what she threatened to do, when i read the first (she txted him that btw) i wanted to slap her, when her friend came with the second message i had to remind myself she was pregnant, and that my friend needed me. This is the situation. There have been some issues with tardiness at my job. The problem isn't because of me but the consequences have been imposed on everyone. There standing policy, even before this, has been that no one gets paid for anything before 8 or after 5. Before 8 isn't an issue but working after 5 does happen. It's not uncommon to get stuck on the phone with a customer. The new thing they are doing to combat tardiness is that if anyone is so much as 1 minute late then they push you back to 8:15. But if you clock out at 4:59, they bring it back to 8:45. If you are locked into a call or stay late to write something up, doesn't matter it was after 5. I understand that rounding up or down to the nearest 15 minutes is legal, I've seen it before, but this doesn't seem right. I've found the federal regulations and want to make sure I understand them. I posted the regulation below. From my understanding if they want to push 8:01 to 8:15 then 5:01 has to equal 5:15 and if we do stay until 5:01 they have to pay us for it if we’re still there because we’re working. 29 CFR 785.48 - Use of time clocks. Section Number: 785.48 Section Name: Use of time clocks. (a) Differences between clock records and actual hours worked. Time clocks are not required. In those cases where time clocks are used, employees who voluntarily come in before their regular starting time or remain after their closing time, do not have to be paid for such periods provided, of course, that they do not engage in any work. Their early or late clock punching may be disregarded. Minor differences between the clock records and actual hours worked cannot ordinarily be avoided, but major discrepancies should be discouraged since they raise a doubt as to the accuracy of the records of the hours actually worked. (b) ``Rounding'' practices. It has been found that in some industries, particularly where time clocks are used, there has been the practice for many years of recording the employees' starting time and stopping time to the nearest 5 minutes, or to the nearest one-tenth or quarter of an hour. Presumably, this arrangement averages out so that the employees are fully compensated for all the time they actually work. For enforcement purposes this practice of computing working time will be accepted, provided that it is used in such a manner that it will not result, over a period of time, in failure to compensate the employees properly for all the time they have actually worked. moreOpen Question: Frame of reference vs. Black Holes?
Okay, I recently had a question answered with parts I'm still not quite clear on. If I, an observer, 'stand' outside the event horizon of a black hole, and watch as an object falls within it's radius, the object will seem to stop from my frame of reference, or so I was told. Now if we pretend this object was a person, and they could, by some miracle, observe me in return, I would also appear stopped, along with the rest of the universe. Here's where I get a headache, have we actually stopped, or is it simply that we appear to have stopped to one another? Because he's still existing in his frame of reference normally(assuming they somehow live) and I'm still existing in my frame of reference normally. But to each other we still appear frozen. (Although since it's a black hole and sucks in light, I think they wouldn't be able to 'see' anything outside the horizon...just assume we can somehow observe one another) But the one inside the horizon...they can't be frozen, they have to be moving towards the singularity since they are inside the Schwarzschild radius, or so I hear. (Once inside that radius you are 'automatically' pulled towards the singularity (for an infinitely long period of time), or something like that.) So they have to be 'moving' or 'traveling' or something, but they aren't frozen, from their own frame of reference. I can't be frozen either since I'm not even IN a singularities event horizon. So, is it only since we observe using light that we appear frozen to one another? But that couldn't make sense either since light from outside the singularity is still traveling into it...or is it taking an infinitely long time to simply cross the horizon for light? No, that doesn't work, even if light took forever to cross it, it could never come back out. So it's not because of observation through light we appear frozen, even if we somehow observe each other without light do we still appear frozen? I'm starting to turn my brain into a pretzel... So...frames of references are all equal to one another...so...how come we can still seem frozen to one another, but still seem to be normal from within our own frame of reference. If anything, it seems to me we should still be observing each other normally, but I've always heard singularities mess with space-time...so shouldn't we observe each other differently, but if we are observing one another differently(one sees the other moving faster/slower) doesn't that defy relativity? ................................................................................................ Is this why they say that black holes screw with the normal laws of physics? I'm not even sure I'm making sense. I have been very curious and skeptical of an IQ. I figured if we we were all truly equal, IQ would only be a matter of being able to focus more and being knowledgeable of suggested topics to have a high IQ. Some people with lower IQ's than others, I felt, have had more expansive ideas and had more substance which led me to believe an IQ doesn't have a good measure on the mind and it's capabilities. Which I think is capable of obtaining a high IQ no matter the average person. So let's say the separate people have different lives and they are around two years into their life and have a similar perception to grass. They have had countless of unique experiences yet there was one time were the separate view they had was not identical but very similar in feeling. Like how people connect over something. Some people fall in love talking about a certain topic. That one topic was so near and they both had felt a great deal to that certain issue sparking a large fire. Even though there is separation, the experiences seem to float around in the mind, making it surreal. So the experience long ago could be a vulnerable and pure heightening sense. moreResolved Question: am i right about this? or no? lol?

When all of you took your oath to serve and protect this country, the Constitution, and the people of this Nation against "foreign, and domestic terrorists", I am sure that in your hearts, you meant every word of it. Our country is under a hostile takeover. That's fact, regardless of how many people want to blindly keep their faith in an administration that is selling us out more and more everyday. Our rights as American Citizens are being stripped away from us. Our Sovereignty as a Nation has been given away, sold, and stolen from us. Our Soldiers are repeatedly being put in harms way, and being poisoned, killed, and stripped of their dignity when they come home by insinuating that veterans are potential terrorists? Our law enforcement personnel are being pitted against the American People, and visa versa, by the biased mainstream media venues to incite civil unrest. When was the last time any of us heard about all of the good things our law enforcement personnel do for the American people in their day to day lives, and communities? I can't remember the last time I heard anything good. What does that tell you? We are meant to believe that our law enforcement personnel doesn't care about us, and only wants to hurt us. This is not true, so why, as a nation, are we allowing this kind of blatant lying to go on, just so a few rich can get richer, while all of us are potentially going to shed our blood as the civil unrest grows? Any United States citizen who is against anything that goes against Tyranny in our government, and the New World Orders agenda is considered a low level terroristic threat to the country? Both of these plans, are from the same template used in Nazi Germany when Hitler pushed his nationalized medical agenda. The Federal Reserve has nothing to do with OUR Federal Goverment. There is very little we are being told the truth about anymore. Our legislators are not being allowed to confront these issues head on, and bring them to the American People for discussion. Tyranny: (1) a government wherein the RIGHTS and Liberties of the people are violated at will by those in power, and where the people possess no effective remedy to hold the transgressors accountable. (2) a government in which the common-law of the people either has never existed, or has been replaced with the de facto policies, or the self empowering edicts, of officials that as a matter of course, authorize the violation of human RIGHTS, and, wherein procedural or "legal" ramparts are effectively constructed to prevent the accountability of government ministers, and their puppet judges and agents. NOTE A: Excessive taxation is categorized as economic slavery and is included within violations of human RIGHTS.Coco's mom, thank you for being able to understand what I am writing about. Sadly, few and far between do, and that is probably our nations biggest problem.Elvira, when Bush/Cheney were doing "their thing" to our nation, I did exactly what I am doing now. Using my constitutional rights to educate myself on all issues, base my opinion on facts, and then use my right to speak. Bush, Cheney, Clinton, Obama, blah, blah, blah..the names have changed, but the AGENDA has not! Educate yourself!I understand fully what sedition is. I also understand, fully, what Treason is, and treason, on many different levels has been committed against the people of the United Stated of America. Are you saying then, that once the people of this nation have used all "acceptable, moral, and legal" means of exposing the criminal, treasonous, immoral, and illegal behaviors of those we put in power to protect us, that we are just supposed to accept what happens? If the people we have put into office did what we, the people, have asked them to do in the first place, you and I would not be having this discussion, and these "legal" terms would not be an issue.Doug B., I also understand completely what you are telling me when you told me to leave the country..now. I realize it is a short period of time before those in our nation who truly love our nation, and will stand up for all that is right, and just within our nation, will be transported off to the many FEMA camps in place, and the "re-education" centers, just as it happened in Nazi Germany. Thank you for your concern in regards to my "welfare". As far as my leaving? Thank God there are those of us who do love this country enough to stand up for what is right, and to not idly sit by while we are being overtaken, and turned into a country where we can be jailed, or killed for voicing our opinions. The last I knew, the constitution of the United States, is the reason people from all over the world wanted to live here, and is what helped to make this the greatest nation in the world. Now that all of those rights are being stripped away from us, what will be regarded as? moreVoting Question: How to get an older cat to like a new kitten...?
Several years ago, we rescued a stray kitten from our neighborhood. He now lives with us and will be 6 this year. We all love him, and he can be lovable, but he's still kind of skittish and defensive. About 2 years later, we rescued another stray cat who also now lives with us. He will be 5. The older cat was very territorial and did not like the new one for about 3 weeks, but now they get along just fine. My brother just brought a new kitten into the house about 2 months ago. The younger cat is tolerant of the kitten and doesn't mind being around him, but the older one hisses and hits the kitten every time he sees him. We give them all equal attention. It's been 2 months, and the older one still hates the kitten! If anyone can give me any ideas on how to get the older one to at least tolerate the kitten, that would be great...because the kitten loves him. P.S. : They're all males. The two older ones ARE fixed, the kitten isn't because he is still too little. I don't have any problems with the middle cat. It's the oldest one who hates the kitten. He likes the middle cat, though. So that isn't much of a problem. moreResolved Question: If Atheists believe god doesn't exist?
and Christians believe god does exist then don't they share a equal amount of faith in their belief? moreResolved Question: Can casinos cheat players?
Please, only answer with serious replies, preferably based on some real-world experience. I am living in Europe. The casinos here seem to be rigged against the players. This is not some sour grapes observation; I have been very analytical in my observations. I've even taken friends with me to verify the statistics I was storing up. First, let's talk about blackjack: one casino uses an automatic card dealing machine. There are times when it seems impossible the dealer is getting so lucky: often 80% of the time he starts with an ace, ten, or face card. One day I visited two casinos, and in both places the dealer had an ace as his first card three times in a row. On those rare occasions when the dealer doesn't start with a strong hand, he magically gets 21. Not 19 or 20, but 21. One night, we started mocking the dealer because it became ridiculous. About 90% of the time, he'd have five, six, ten (face card). It was never five, seven, ten or anything. But always those three cards to equal 21. This happened at least 20 times within 90 minutes. Roulette: some of my friends are convinced that the casino somehow uses magnets to influence the ball. One oddity: on about five occasions recently, I switched my chip from one number to a split between two numbers. So, while I started with a chip on Five, at the last moment I switched it to Four/Five. Guess what? EACH TIME I won. It seems statistically that this is not just some aberration. I moved a chip to one of the only numbers that wasn't being played... and it won.... five out of five times. Suspicious? Please, do not answer with the typical: 1) You've got a selective memory 2) It all evens out in the end These occurences seem to deny statistics. In fact, I just returned from the casino. I was getting such abominable cards that I had them switch the table from Blackjack to Pontoon. I quintupled my money in about an hour. In other words, the cards were so abominable, that getting a 5-card pontoon was actually a winning strategy. To the first respondant who commented, "you are seeing statistics that aren't really there, just trying to justify your losses", that is not true. As I said, I even took friends there to help me keep statistical count. Here in Europe I think that inspection is lax and not frequent. Also, if it's like everything else here, there is corruption. Also, it's not just me. I have seen pros playing (yes, I am taking their word for it, that they gamble so frequently it's like a profession) who lost about $5,000 in a day. The cards they would get were ridiculously bad. For example, they'd split aces against a six, get a three and a four, and the dealer magically draws an ace (here, the dealer only gets one card at the beginning; he draws last). While this is not proof of cheating, a few times the ball has literally bounced out of the number it landed in, almost like it was getting some invisible whack. As I said, some friends here are convinced that the casinos are cheating. moreVoting Question: Who else goes to Fox for a chuckle, nothing more?
http://www.dailyfinance.com/2009/06/26/with-fox-ruling-ratings-roost-cnn-looks-ahead With Fox ruling ratings roost, CNN looks ahead Jeff Bercovici Jun 26th 2009 What's the No. 1 brand in cable news? That depends, in part, on how many screens you're counting. With the second-quarter drawing to a close, Fox News Channel is running up the score on the competition, posting its highest ratings ever and boasting of an evening audience equal to those of CNN, MSNBC and Headline News combined. But that's only looking at TV. And that's something CNN -- which had its best second quarter since 2003 in total viewers, but fell to third place in primetime in the crucial 25-to-54 demographic -- says it's not doing anymore now that so much news is being consumed on computers and mobile devices. "We used to be a television business," says Jack Wakshlag, head of research for Turner Broadcasting. "We see our future in terms of being a multi-platform media company. Now we need a metric that will measure our power or our presence across the different platforms." As it happens, Nielsen, the ratings firm, recently started tracking such a metric. It's called Nielsen Fusion, and it combines viewership and online usage data. The Fusion rankings for April show CNN with a commanding lead over both MSNBC and Fox News when it comes to reach among all viewers. (That's looking at the full day, not just primetime.) CNN (which is part of the same media conglomerate as Daily Finance parent AOL) reached 125.3 million people in April, versus 105.5 milllion for MSNBC and 104.3 million for Fox. That's not really a surprise. CNN has always beaten Fox and MSNBC in reach, or cumulative audience. (Fox and MSNBC counter that advertisers make their buys based on ratings, not cumulative reach, which doesn't reflect duration of viewership.) And CNN and MSNBC both have a big head start on Fox when it comes to web traffic; the Fox News Digital Network attracts fewer than half the unique visitors of the MSNBC or CNN digital networks (No. 1 and 3 among all news sites, respectively). But as viewers increasingly migrate their news consumption from televisions to other types of screens, total cross-platform viewership is only going to get more important, says Wakshlag. He notes that 20 million viewers get news from both CNN television and a CNN website in the same month, versus only 9 million who do the same with Fox. "For some reason, they don't have a lot of what we're calling 'integrators,' and we're seeing that as something that really says something about the strength of the brand," he says. http://www.newser.com/off-the-grid/post/181/why-fox-news-is-really-pleasant-and-agreeable.html?utm_source=fb&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=wolff From the article: Let me suggest that by sheer numbers alone, this means that O’Reilly, Hannity, and Beck, while they are thought of as political figures by liberals, and, indeed, who all seem to become ever more belligerent in their anti-Obama positions, are actually thought of as light entertainment by their audiences. My family is "middle class" and so are all of my friends pretty much. But I find that most of my friends' families are less wealthy than mine, or about equal. Not there is anything wrong with that - they're my friends and money doesn't determine that. They aren't poor or anything either, just not as wealthy. Before I never really paid attention to this, but then my mom pointed it out to me, and sometimes I feel kind of awkward about it. Do your friends in general have the same amount of wealth as you do, or either more or less? moreResolved Question: Since we Atheists are so negative...?
Allow me a moment of absolute negativity. I hate that in a world supposedly under the control of a merciful god there are people born blind...who will NEVER see the face of their own children. I hate that there are people who will live an entire lifetime and NEVER know love. I hate that sometimes when someone is lucky enough to find someone to love, someone who will love them back, but they happen to share similar genitalia, they will be condemned, tormented, and ridiculed for it. I hate the prominent idea that we are supposed to submit ourselves to a higher power who doesn't even have the decency to show himself. I hate that because I'm not like you...I'm less than you. I hate that your idea of equality means we are only equal if I do what you do. I hate that somewhere tonight, people are lonely. well, there are these two boys i kind of like, and have an equal space in my heart. Boy 1: he is soooo unbelievabley and incredibly HOTT!!! like the zac efron of my grade. he goes to a different school. and the same age as me. he is really funny and he likes to give me compliments on my appearance and my personality all the time. i've known him since i was in elementary school. he always asks me if he can come to my dance performances. but the problem is he is in to doing drugs and drinking and raving and well thats just not me! Boy 2: he is not the most attractive boy i have ever seen. he is one of the sweetest boys i have ever met in my life and super devoted. he also has the best sense of humor ever!!! he goes to a different school than me and he is one year older. he lives in my neighborhood. he parties, but not too hard. he doesn't do drugs, and i'm willing to bet he doesn't drink. we share a lot of common interests. we met in the beginning of the school year. but the catch is he and i sort of got into a fight because he asked my friend to hook up when i never returned affection. he sincerely apologized and i was too angry to accept. we haven't spoken in over 6 months. which guy is better? should i move forward with boy 1 or make amends with boy2?boy 2 is only a couple months away from being able to drive (liscence and all!) and i am 14. a 14 year old and 16 year old.. moreResolved Question: Can you identify this world religion?
Where should I start? Within this religion homosexual people, bisexual people, transgendered people, heterosexual people etc are all regarded as equals, as are men and women. This religion doesn't have a 'creation' story, it happily accepts whatever the most accurate scientific theories are and is happy to change accordingly. This religion doesn't have a personified diety or supreme god, or gods. This religion doesn't teach eternal damnation in hell for non-believers nor eternal paradise in heaven for believers. In this religion, prayers are rarely used and, if used, are understood to be a way of conditioning one's own mind (i.e. No supernatural power of prayer)... praying can be thought of as 'talking to yourself to figure stuff out'. People in this religion do not regard people who are not in this religion as second-class citizens, rather ALL beings are as respected as each other. There are no strict rituals in this religion that must be adhered to, but rituals are used voluntarily where they can be seen to benefit the individual choosing to practice them (i.e. meditation). In this religion one is not required to attend a church or temple. In this religion one is not required to tythe. In this religion there are no 'laws' which, if broken, can lead to punishment, there are just guidelines that should be followed mindfully (obvious moral guidelines like 'no murder' and 'no stealing' which most people adhere to anyway). In this religion no food is forbidden. In this religion there is no supernatural system of punishment or reward. There has never been a war faught in the name of this religion. The texts of this religion are fluid, dynamic and change with the times, they are not believed to be 'divinely inspired'. Adherants to this religion can be found in all walks of life and in all countries. One of the central themes of this religion is the idea that you should not simply believe what you read or are taught, you should investigate for yourself. Another theme is that you should try to avoid extremes (remember, these are guidelines not rules). The purpose of this religion is not focused on any 'afterlife', but on the persuit of happiness right now, this very moment. The idea of an immortal soul is not taught in this religion, quite the opposite. Now, there are a few religions that fit these criteria. (p.s.- I don't have diabetes or anything, but I figure might as well not have sugar if there's something that's a friendlier alternative, and I'm interested in Stevia seeing as how it's natural unlike the artificial sweeteners like Equal and Sweet N Low which I don't like at all). moreResolved Question: Why do women expect men to be gentlemen?
Women expect men to be gentlemen. I disagree with this statement. I don't believe that men have to be gentlemen to women. Agreeing to be a gentlemen means agreeing that men are inferior to women. Examples: You open the door she walks through. You get out of the car in the rain, walk around, and open her door. What exactly justifies a women being treated like that in an era when women are claiming equality, demanding equal pay for equal work, demanding equal opportunities, ability to run for president, they have the right to vote. I don't understand why women should be treated as superior in any way, shape, or form. Women will say that it's part of tradition and how they were raised. Just because women were raised that way doesn't make it right. Some people were raised to burn crosses and join the Klu Klux Klan, it doesn't make it right. Why should men do anything for women that women aren't expected to do anything for men? Being a gentlemen meant something in an era when women couldn't vote, women couldn't work, women couldn't go to college, women couldn't finish high school, women had to raise the kids, women had to be home all the time. In those days being a gentlemen made sense. Back in the days when women had to do all the drudge work and the man came home after a long day and it was a whole different story back then. But in todays day and age, women work, women have equal opportunities, more women to go college than men now. So it's like, "why do we owe you?" In the 21st century, women do not deserve this kind of treatment and I think men who do it are fools. I want women to tell me why they deserve this special treatment. If you say "child bearing," ... well, I'll tell you what, when you have my children, get back to me. Why don't women open the door for the man? If you say "because he's the man," what exactly does that mean? It's amazing of how women love to complain about sexism and yet they would make a statement like that. So what if he's the man.
