Open Question: Chi square_ HELP!!!!!!?

Does anyone did this before? I have no idea how to do that...Please HELP!!! The Chi Square Test The purpose of the Chi square 2 test is to determine whether experimentally obtained data constitute a good fit to a theoretical, expected ratio. In other words, the 2 test enables one to determine whether it is reasonable to attribute deviations from an expected value to chance. Obviously, if deviations are small then they can be more reasonably attributed to chance. The question is how small must deviations be in order to be attributed to chance? The formula for 2 is as follows: 2 =  (O-E)2 where O = the observed number of individuals of a particular phenotype, E = the expected number in that phenotype, and  = the summation of all possible values of (O-E)2/E for the various phenotypic categories. The following is an example of how one might apply the test to genetics. In a cross of tall tomato plants to dwarf ones, the F1 consisted entirely of tall plants, and the F2 consisted of 102 tall and 44 dwarf plants. Does this data fit a 3:1 ratio? To answer this question, a 2 value can be calculated (see table 1). Table 1 PhenotypeGenotypeOE(O-E)(O-E)2(O-E)2/E TallT_102109.5-7.556.250.5137 Dwarftt4436.57.556.251.5411 Totals1461462.0548 The calculated 2 value is 2.0548. What does this mean? If the observed had equaled the expected, the value would have been zero. Thus, a small 2 value indicates that the observed and expected ratios are in close agreement. However, are the observed deviations within the limits expected by chance? In order to determine this, one must look up the 2 value on a Chi Square table (see table 1.2). Statisticians have generally agreed on the arbitrary limits of odds of 1 chance in 20 (probability = .05) for drawing the line between acceptance and rejection of the hypothesis as a satisfactory explanation of the data tested. A 2 value of 3.841 for a two-term ratio corresponds to a probability of .05. That means that one would obtain a2 value of 3.841 due to chance alone on only about 5% of similar trials. When 2 exceeds 3.841 for a two term ratio, the probability that the deviations can be attributed to chance alone is less than 1 in 20. Thus, the hypothesis of compatibility between the observed and expected ratios must be rejected. In the example given the 2value is much less than 3.841. Therefore, one can attribute the deviations to chance alone. In the example above (3:1) there are two terms. Therefore, the degrees of freedom is 2 - 1 = 1. Application of the Chi Square Test M&Ms are carefully selected for equality of size and shape. Quantities of each color were packaged in your bag. Randomly select enough M&M to cover the bottom of the cup. Count the number of M&M of each color and record your data in table 1.3. Then calculate the expected numbers based on the sample size and the known ratio of M&M in general. Complete the table and calculate2 Table 1.3 Phenotype (color)OE(O-E)(O-E)2(O-E)2/E Sum How many degrees of freedom are there?____________________________________ Using table 1.2, what 2 values lie on either side of your calculated 2value?_________ What are the probability values associated with the 2 values?_____________________ Briefly interpret the 2 value you have just calculated. Resolved Question: What makes you say there's no evidence?

First of all, I have to say that God isn't about facts and evidence and proof. It's more of a faith thing. But some of us need a little more than, "You just have to believe." And I get that. Well, here is an attempt to offer some of the reasons which suggest that God exists. But first consider this. If a person rejects even the possibility of there being a God, then any evidence can be rationalized or explained always. It's like if someone refuses to believe that people have walked on the moon, then no amount of information is going to change their thinking. Photographs of astronauts walking on the moon, interviews with the astronauts, moon rocks...all the evidence would be worthless, because the person has already concluded that people cannot go to the moon. Okay, with all THAT aside: 1. The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today. a. The Earth and it's perfect size. b. Water...colorless, odorless and without taste, and yet no living thing can survive without it. c. The human brain: There is an intelligence to it, the ability to reason, to produce feelings, to dream and plan, to take action, and relate to other people. d. The eye...can distinguish among seven million colors. It has automatic focusing and handles an astounding 1.5 million messages -- simultaneously. Evolution focuses on mutations and changes from and within existing organisms. Yet evolution alone does not fully explain the initial source of the eye or the brain -- the start of living organisms from nonliving matter. 2. The universe had a start - what caused it? The universe has not always existed. It had a start...what caused that? Scientists have no explanation for the sudden explosion of light and matter. 3. The universe operates by uniform laws of nature. Why does it? Much of life may seem uncertain, but look at what we can count on day after day: gravity remains consistent, a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will get cold, the earth rotates in the same 24 hours, and the speed of light doesn't change -- on earth or in galaxies far from us. How is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change? Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable? 4. The DNA code informs, programs a cell's behavior. One has to ask....how did this information program wind up in each human cell? These are not just chemicals. These are chemicals that instruct, that code in a very detailed way exactly how the person's body should develop. 5. We know God exists because he pursues us. He is constantly initiating and seeking for us to come to him. Ask yourself: What is it about atheists that we would spend so much time, attention, and energy refuting something that we don't believe even exists?! (ha, I had a question posted on this before) 6. Unlike any other revelation of God, Jesus Christ is the clearest, most specific picture of God revealing himself to us. Look throughout the major world religions and you'll find that Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius and Moses all identified themselves as teachers or prophets. None of them ever claimed to be equal to God. Surprisingly, Jesus did. That is what sets Jesus apart from all the others. He said God exists and you're looking at him! Done. Or you can just go to this site: http://www.everystudent.com/features/isthere.html Now, debate if you will. And save the sarcasm statements to yourself. I'd like thoughtful answers. more

Resolved Question: Realistically what do you see Crosby and Ovechkin reaching into their Prime?

Typically a player's prime years of top, peak performance is around 24, and 28, so Ovechkin is pretty much almost there, maybe another year or two, Crosby on the other hand is kinda like Forsberg in that his prime probibly wont come around until he's about 26, so about another 4 or 5 years until I think he reaches his peak performance. Maybe something like this for both. Crosby projection: 18 yrs old: 102 pts, 39g, 63a 19 yrs old: 120 pts, 36g, 84a 20 yrs old: 72 pts, 24g, 48a ( on pace for 112 pts) 21 yrs old: 103 pts, 33g, 70a (missed 5 games, on pace for 110 pts) 22 yrs old: 115pts, 35g, 80a 23 yrs old: misses season ( leg injury) 24 yrs old: 127pts, 43g, 94a 25 yrs old: 122pts, 40g, 82a 26 yrs old: 134 pts, 45g, 89a 27 yrs old: 147 pts, 51g, 96a (career year in goals) 28 yrs old: 119pts, 38g, 81a 29 yrs old: 125pts, 43, 82 a 30 yrs old: 110pts, 34g, 76a 31 yrs old: 107pts, 37g, 70a 32 yrs old: misses half the season 65pts, 23g, 42a 33 yrs old: 118pts, 27g, 91a 34 yrs old: 102pts, 30g, 72a ( At this point in his career he's lost his goal scorer's touch, and thus more of a pure playmaker like forsberg or thornton) 35 yrs old: 104pts, 28g, 76a 36 yrs old: 97pts , 19g, 78a 37 yrs old: 90pts, 22g, 68a 38 yrs old: 82pts, 24g, 68a 39 yrs old: 70pts, 18g, 52a 40 yrs old: 70pts, 20g, 50a Retires: 3 time Stanley Cup Champ, 6 Art Ross, 5 MVP titles, 2 conn smythe. 719 goals, and how he achieves this dispite only one 50 goal season is through consistant 35-40 goal seasons, and 25+ goal seasons later in his career, I see Crosby going down as one of the most consistent players of all-time, like Francis or Messier. Ovechkin Projection: keep in mind his reckless all-out style his going to hinder him at some point, so the injuries will indeed mount together, it happened to Neely, Lindros, the kind of all out style, live for the moment, hit like a wrecking ball game will eventually catch up to his body. 20: 106, 52g, 54a 21: 92, 46g, 46a 22: 112, 65g, 47a 23: 110, 55g, 55a 24: 114, 60g, 54a 25: 108, 58g, 50a 26: ( chest and shoulder injury finally catch him) 64, 30g, 34a 27: 128pts, 72g, 56a ( career year in goals, in suprisingly lesser shots) 28: 113pts, 53g, 60a 29: ( again his wreckless style causes him to miss 1/3 of the season) 70pts, 43g, 27a 30: 107pts, 49g, 58a 31: 104pts, 50g, 54a 32: 100pts, 50, 50 33: 94pts, 46g, 48a 34: 110 , 40g, 70a (career year in assists, becomes more of a playmaker from here on out, more of a perimter player because his body will be so banged up from his earlier years olf all out wreckless abandond) 35: 103pts, 42g, 61a 36: 100pts, 35g, 65a 37: 90 pts, 33g, 57a 38: 82pts, 30g, 52a 39: 72pts, 29g, 43a 40: 69pts, 26g, 43a 41: 65pts, 25g, 40a 42: 60pts, 20g, 40a 43: 56pts, 18g, 38a 44: 43pts, 15g, 28a 45: 20pts, 10g, 10a 46: 15pts, 10g, 5a 47: 13pts, 9g, 4a 48: 10pts, 4g, 6a 49: 9pts, 3g, 6a 50: 220pts, 97g, 123a, nah just kidding, 1g, 0a Retires: 0 stanley cups, 8 rocket Richarde's, 5 art ross, 4 mvp, becomes the alltime goal scoring leader, only because he took on average 600+ a season, with the worst shooting % of all-time with a 9.3%, in all likely hood, coulda won a few more art ross trophy's had he not hogged the puck so much early in his career. All in all, both will be viewed as pretty much equal, Crosby being the lights out favorite when it comes playoff time, will retire with the second most points in NHL Playoff history, 2nd most Conn Smythes to Patrcik Roy, thus will be deemed the greatest playoff performer of all-time, while Ovechkin will go down as the greatest goal scorer of all-time, despite needing roughly 550+ shots just to reach the 50 goal plateau, The top 5 players of all-time will still be in any order of Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux and Howe though haha.... Realistically though both Probibly fizzle out by the time they are both 30 though, but I do believe Crosby will go down as one the Greatest playoff performers, the dude's only 21 and has 63 career playoff pts already, thats crazy, even if he misses a few playoff runs with Pittsburgh, he's almost 1/3 of the way to 200 career playoff points. Verdict: Regular season: Equal Playoff season: Crosby takes it up a notch. Goals scorer: Ovechkin Playmaker: Crosby Hitting: Ovechkin Positional Defense: Crosby Blocked shots: Crosby Take aways: Crosby Giveaways: Ovechkin +/- : Crosby Game winning goals: Ovechkin Game winning Points: Crosby Penalty Minutes: Ovechkin All in all though, they will be considered equal, with very good arguments going back and forth as to who is better. But along come Evgeni Malkin and Taylor Hall to blow both of them outta the water haha...... How were my Projections?hey yankee, what do you call semin, backstrom and green than huh? or do you consider them a bunch of ahl calibre 4th liners, dont give me that Ovechkins carries his team bullshit, Green was on pace for 90 points as a defenseman, semin was on pace for well over a hundred points, Backstrom had 88 points this year, thats more points than the mvp and leading point getter Joe Thortnon from 2 years ago, so don't even try to pull the Ovechkin has a ccrappier team Bullshit on me, Crosby won the mvp and Art Ross Trophy before WITH Malkin on his team, Crosby has reached the 120 plateau as a fucking teenager, a teenager for f@#$ sakes, A TEEN -AGERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!...... meanwhile Ovechkin is gonna be 24 next season entering his prime and doesnt have one single 120 points season under his belt, so dont even try to pull the Ovechkin plays on a crappy team, this aint 05'06 Capitals were talking about here, we're talking abou the current Capitals which is more offensively loaded than the Pens.case you havent noticed, Crosby hasnt fully healed from his High ankle sprain last January, yet he still produces like a mad man, this past season he had a very mediocre season, missing 5 games, a bottom 5 pp, yet he still managed to pull a 103 point season out of his one legged a$$, oh and he's two years younger than Ovechkin aswell, if not for that injury he had last January I really do see Crosby being handed his 3rd straight Scoring Title but thats life, and Crosby also has the North American thing going for him when it comes to MVP voting, yeah its a little unfair but big deal, Ovechkin is an ugly, sweaty, hairy caveman, the NHL probibly doesnt want to advertise that ugly mug, so they will be more than happy to hand the MVP to Crosby. Crosby, 21, has a better ppg average, a stanley cup, a MVP a scoring title which is higher than Ovechkin will ever hope to achieve, he's a better defensive zone player aswell, Ovechkin won his first and only scoring title as a 22 year old.OH yeah, Mario Lemieux won multiple MVP AWARDS with Jaromir jagr on his team, what the hell does that tell you? Wayne Gretzky won an mvp with the second highest scoring player of alltime in Mark Messier, same with Brian Trottier and Mike Bossy. and Crosby has already won an MVP with Malkin on his team, again your logic that he cant ever win an mvp again is flawed, Crosby has 100 assist, 50 goal potential in his absolute best years, regardless of wingers, Ovechkin had a 90 point defensman, a 100 point winger in Semin, and another 90 point centreman to work with all on the 2nd best powerplay in the NHL behind the Detroit Redwings, Yet Crosby was only 7 points behind Ovechkin on a bottom 5 Powerplay while still nursing a groin and a not so fully healed Ankle, all while being two years younger tan Ovechkin, figure that one out, all that yet Ovechkin only out produced him by 7 points? thats all?you see thats why I dont see Ovechkin ever winning a scoring title anytime soon, he pretty much hovers at around 50 or so assists a season, give or take a few, and between 50-60 goals a season, thats roughly 110 points a season, where as Crosby could probibly reach that in assists alone on a monster season, he's thats good of a playmaker, fucking deal with it. more

Resolved Question: Some riddles give me a star if you like them?

1. What walks all day on its head? 2. Round as an apple, Deep as a cup, All the King's horses Can't pull it up. What is it? 3.Two postmen meet on their routes and they start talking. Postman A says: "I know you have 3 sons, how old are they?" Postman B says: "If you take their ages in years, and multiply them together, the result is your age." A: "That`s not enough info" B: "The sum of the 3 numbers equals the number of windows in that building over there." A: "Hmm... that`s still not enough." B: "My middle son is red-haired." A: "Ah, now I see!" How old are the 3 sons? answers 1.A nail in a horseshoe. 2.It is a well. 3.Answer and Explanation for Solution: With a little bit of work, you can discoverthat only one solution is possible: the kids must be 1, 5, and 8 becausea solution with the same A and B involving twins (2, 2, and 10) is ruledout by the middle son with red hair. The product of both are 40 and the sumsare 14. The basis for that solution is as follows: The postman's firststatement tells us that x*y*z = A; the postman's second statement tellsus that x+y+z = B; and the third statement tells us that x does not equaly does not equal z. We know that the three ages are different because the"middle" son has red hair, which implies that none of thechildren are twins. The most important piece of information in the puzzleis that there must be at least two sets of numbers that add together to givethe same sum and multiply together to give the same product -- or hewould have been able to figure it out without the third parameter aboutthe middle child (no twins). Thus, there are two sets of threenumbers x1, y1, & z1 and x2, y2, & z2 where x1 + y1 + z1 = x2 + y2 + z2and x1 * y1 * z1 = x2 * y2 * z2 . It is not the fact that there are notwins, but the fact that the postman could NOT figure out the answer UNTILhe knew that there were no twins that is essential. He needed toknow that fact in order to solve the problem, and there must be only twodifferent sets of age choices for the kids (one with twins; one withou t twins)that produce equivalent A's and B's. Resolved Question: Horse Coughing Concern?

Hello, my horse does have an exercise induced cough. He usually coughs at the begining and then it stops. This usually occurs during a trot or gallop. I board my horse at a local stable. He and another horse share a small paddock with a round bale, no grass, and run in during the day and they are turned out to a 1.5 acre pasture with some grass at night with run in and fed flakes. The hay is coastal bermuda. Sometimes I will give them a flake of alfalfa as a treat. He is fed 2X daily, each serving being 1/2 scoop (4 cups) of equal parts of Reliance High Fat Pelleted Horse Feed and Reliance Select 12 Economy Textured (high fiber), 1 Tbsp clovite (AM), and 1 scoop Farnams Horseshoers Secret Hoof Concentrate (AM & PM). I will turn him out onto a more grassy pasture 4X weekely anywhere from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours. On Saturday, 5/30/09, we trailered the horses to a nearby trail and rode for about 1.5 miles. All four (4) horses coughed during a certain area that was dusty. After turning him out to a grassier pasture for about 1.5 hourse afterwards, I heard him cough a few hard coughs from 100 feet away. But, did not think much thereafter. On Sunday, 5/31/09, I went out to ride - yet he had a good bite mark on him from his pasture mate (they are getting aquainted still); cleaned it with betadine, allowed to dry and then applied TriCare. Put him out to a grassier pasture for a bit while I washed his winter blanket and girth. He coughed a couple times. I could hear him 50 feet away. As feeding time arrived he waited at the gate to be let in and he ate dirt. I've seen him do this before. He has a trace mineral block in his PM pasture. He ate his food rather quickly and then began to eat his hay. He coughed about 5 times - I was concerned b/c I was standing beside him while he coughed and some of his grain landed on my jeans. It had been chewn very well, yet I was concerned. The stable owner said that he's done that before when he eats his hay rather fast. I'm concerned. Will check on him again tonight, 6/1/09. He is a 7 year old quarter horse. He is properly wormed and vacinated. He has access to fresh water 24/7. For about 3 weeks he did not have a pasture mate (the prior mate moved to another stable) and I wonder if he became accustomed to not having to share his hay. The new pasture mate does not let my horse out of site and seems lonely. The new pasture mate will not eat the other hay laid out in the pasture unless my horse is nearby. I wonder if my horse notices this and guards the hay in the run-in? After all the rain we've incurred, it is rather dry, too. Thanks ya'll, I'd appreciate your advice b/4 calling the vet. more

Resolved Question: Do you think this bread recipe would work?

1. Put 1 cup of warm water plus one tablespoon sugar in a mixing bowl. Add two tablespoons of yeast. Let sit for about five minutes. 2. Add three cups of flour, 1 cup of milk, dash of salt, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 3-4 tablespoons of oil or melted (and cooled) margarine or shortening. Stir 50 times clockwise, and then 50 times counter-clockwise. 3. Add another 3 to 4 cups of flour and mix until the dough forms a good ball. Turn dough out of the bowl onto a floured surface and let it sit for ten minutes. Then, knead the dough for 5 to 10 minutes. 4. Let rise in a greased bowl for about an hour (it should double in size). Punch down the dough. Let it rise again for 30 to 45 minutes. Divide into two equal parts and shape into loaves. Place in loaf pans and bake at 425 degrees for about 25-30 minutes. I couldn't find a simpler one on the net. However, this one would still take some work and time. Do you think I could make it without having to wait that long for the dough (etc)? Or is there another alternative in the directions or another simple recipe anyone has? I don't have much to use. I want a recipe as simple as possible with mostly just the basic ingredients (flour, yeast..) Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Was Jesus God........???

last time people didn't answer my question , they preached i was going to hell for not believing in Jesus You answer this and i will become a Christian NOW 1. God is All Knowing.....but Jesus was not When speaking of the day of judgement, Jesus clearly gave evidence of a limitation on his knowledge when he said, "but of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in Heaven, neither the son, but the Father." Mark 13:32, and Matt 24:36. But God knows all. His knowledge is without any limitations. That Jesus, of his own admission, did not know when the day of judgement would be, is clear proof that Jesus is not all-knowing, and that Jesus is therefore not God. 2. God is All Powerful.....but Jesus was not While Jesus performed many miracles, he himself admitted that the power he had was not his own but was derived from God when he said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do..." St. John 5:19. Again he said, "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me." St. John 5:30. But God is not only all-powerful, He is also the source of all power and authority. That Jesus, of his own admission, could do nothing on his own is clear proof that Jesus is not all-powerful, and that therefore Jesus is not God. 3. God does not have a God.....but Jesus did have a God. God is the ultimate judge and refuge for all, and He does not call upon nor pray to any others. But Jesus acknowledged that there was one whom he worshipped and to whom he prayed when he said, "l ascend unto my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God." St. John 20:17. He is also reported to have cried out while on the cross, "My God, my God why hast thou forsaken me?" Matt 27:46. If Jesus were God, then couldn't this be read, "Myself, myself why hast thou forsaken me?" Would that not be pure nonsense? When Jesus prayed the Lord's prayer (Luke 11:2-4), was he praying to himself? When in the garden of Gethsemane he prayed, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: Nevertheless not as I will but as thou wilt." Matt 26:36-39. Was Jesus praying to himself? That Jesus, of his own admission and by his own actions, acknowledged, worshipped, and prayed to another being as God is clear proof that Jesus himself is not God. 4. God is an invisible spirit.....but Jesus was flesh and blood While thousands saw Jesus and heard his voice, Jesus himself said that this could not be done with God when he said. "No man hath seen God at any time." St. John 1:18. '"Ye have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His shape." St. John 5:37. He also said in St. John 4:24. "God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." That Jesus would say that no one had seen or heard God at any time, while his followers both saw and heard him, is clear proof that Jesus was not God. 5. No one is greater than God and no one can direct Him but Jesus acknowledged someone greater than himself whose will was distinct from his own. Perhaps the clearest indication we have that Jesus and God are not equal, and therefore not one and the same, come again from the mouth of Jesus himself who said in St. John 14:28, "My Father is greater than I." When someone referred to him as good master in Matt 19:17, Jesus responded, "Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God..." Furthermore, Jesus drew clear distinctions between himself and God when he said, "I proceeded forth and came from God, neither came I of myself but He sent me." St. John 8:42. Jesus gave clear evidence of his subordination to God, rather than his equality with God,when he said in Luke 22:42, "not my will but thine be done" and in St. John 5:30, "I seek not mine own will but the will of the Father which hath sent me." That Jesus would admit that he did not come into the world on his own initiative but was directed to do so, that he would acknowledge another being as greater than himself, and that he would negate his own will in deference to affirming the will of another, give clear proof that Jesus is not the Supreme One and therefore Jesus is not God. more

Resolved Question: What would you do in this dilemma?

I know I have asked for answers before but thought I may be able to gain some other perspectives from other people who may have been in a similar situation who may be able to suggest something regarding my current dilemna and frustration to assist in gaining some further clarity since you've all been helpful before. It's a shame I have to go on here to ask advice since I don't want to worry my family. I have been unemployed for 7 weeks, am a single parent, renting, have bills to pay piling up and have tried to get through the situation on my own. I have been managing up until now, without anyone's help however I asked my boyfriend a week ago if he could loan me some money to help me out with the rent that I am behind on just until I find a job, which I found yesterday..a very good job but wont get paid for another month. The situation is pretty urgent and I am really struggling and about to recieve a notice to vacate if I do not recieve any assistance now however I realise that this is only short term, given I now have found a job. I can't move, since I have a child and this will affect her schooling. After much hesitation and feeling bad/guilty about asking, and knowing the problems I've had in the past with my partner's father, I asked my boyfriend for help as a last resort and he agreed to help me...reluctantly. He is living with his father and pays only $50 rent. His father whom he claims, is helping him save some money. So far with his father's help he has saved over $6k in less than 2 months. My boyfriend thought allowing his father to help would be good for him and would give his dad something to do, but this in itself has caused anxiety and trouble, since now his father is looking at everything he does with me, using this against me, even though we usually hang out at my place. I don't allow my boyfriend to pay for me unless I am genuinely unable to do so since I know the trouble this causes and when I was working we took it in turns. However the problem is that his father whom he claims has been helping his son to save, has been putting the money into his own account, not my boyfriend's account, claiming this is so my boyfriend doesnt spend his savings and I smell a rat and can't define what I suspect he'll do next as I've been right about his other kniving plans long before he did them up until now. My partner asked his father for a mere $400 to help me out, however, his father won't give him his money claiming that he will spend his money on me which I feel very hurt and uneasy about since this is not true. We are in a equal relationship and both contribute equally. This man has done nothing but cause trouble for us in the past. Always, I feel, he will do anything he can to manipulate my boyfriend and try to sabbotage our relationship, in the name of "helping" his son. I am always on edge and on guard for what he will do next. Although my partner sticks up for me, this man gets violent. He once told my partner he and my boyfriend were having a father son day out together and then took my partner in the car to a cafe up to the country (about 2 hrs drive), which was really to meet another woman, who later turned out, as I later discovered, needed a visa to stay in the country. Becuase I am not of the same nationality, or a skinny housemaking supermodel with a lot of money who won't jump to every command as he expects, although I am quite attractive, do ok for myself on my own and have managed to put myself further through university to get a good job, which I have just done, and for the reasons specified above he hates me with a passion and after taking my partner to meet anothe woman told me himself and basically called me a fat old whore (which is far from the truth), because I'm dating his son who is 3 years younger than myself and we are both in our 30's. We are not teenagers. He has also suggested things like my partner buying a house with him and not with me, which means my partner is stuck with a mortgage with a self serving old man who won't allow him to sell if he get's married, let alone marry anyone, or anyone who isn't of the same nationality and chained to a sink! My "father-in-law to be" (we are planning on getting married shortly) lives in a shitty old apartment in the worst part of new york because he claims he has no money but has 60k in the bank and is going on an overseas trip for six months as my boyfriend told me and expects my boyfriend to fork out 6 months rent whilst he is away. He is too mean to spend anything, insists on everybody paying for him, even if it's a cup of coffee and won't leave the house because he has nowhere to go himself and wont help anybody out but himself except where of course his own interests lay and causes problems by giving very bad advice. And since he is a pensioner who has nobody but my partner to care for him (out of sympathy) because of his kniving, evil ways (he bashed up his ex wife), nobody will have anything to do with him including m more

Resolved Question: Is Rugby that different between the hemispheres.?

Its gone to far to be honest. There are very little differences in player ability between the northern and southern hemisphere sides. I can't find a position where the norther hemisphere doesnt have a player of equal or better quality for example 2 random positions ill pick. Locks, Southern has Botha and Matfield, Northern has O'Connell and Alun wyn Jones, and even Chabal. Goal kickers, southern has Mortlock and Dan Carter, Northern has Wilkinson and Paterson the two most accurate and finest goal kickers on the pitch. In the last 5 years the rugbys been up and down. 2003 northern hemisphere was the better hemisphere it was said, England winning the world cup and beating the Southern hemisphere teams in succession. Since 2004 so many people have started to call the northern hemisphere's style of rugby, slow, boring non-running games and the overall standard as slacking. I can't see why this is to be honest, as every Autumn and Summer international ( excluding november 2008 which ill bring up later on) the two hemispheres have gone head to head, its been close with equal victories for both sides. For example look at these links, random videos since 2004: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pjd7IHPpRyY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBNfOlozwIs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTWsbCQ1lxg 2008 was a year in which 1) The Welsh manager had just been replaces 2) the Irish manager had just been sacked 3) The English manager had just been Sacked 4) The French manager had just been sacked. Wales were the only team to do half decently in the Autumn internationals in 2008, probably because there new manager had time to settle. Ireland, England and the French managers didn't but now they've had time to do so, since the autumn internationals, they've made a lot of progress, Ireland winning the six nations, England beating france 34-10, France beating Wales as well. 2008 was the only major stoop in northern hemisphere performances ive seen, whenever its crunch time between the two hemispheres its pretty much equal, to be honest its something thats just gone to far, people jumping on the band wagon when they've only seen one poor game of northern hemisphere rugby or in some cases none. When i was in New Zealand, the channels had no coverage of Northern hemisphere rugby, and the sky channel package didn't have sentanta either, so i can't see how all these critics have witnessed a majority of northern hemisphere games to give a decent unbiased comment on the standard of play. This years autumn internationals should be better and much more evenly matched.First of all, if your bored of this leave the rugby section, the difference between the hemispheres is widely debated currently so get used to it, more often or less, its people like you have made this issue arise. 1) You clearly have missed the point of my article. Northern Hemisphere wins are treated as such big upsets due to a fiction which people have got into there heads that NH sides are destined to be crap, when infact they include some of the best payers and teams the world has. Vice versa with southern hemi teams and there must win title they've been awarded. 2) thats what happens in international sport , players from different countries and continents get imported and exported. All decent nothern hemis players are already playing for teams in the northern hemi, so extra good players need to be exported. Obviously the SH has got as many and better players than in the NH, so importing is enevitable, you make it sound they rely on a constant stream of players from the SH.I hate adding stuff on to the question but dangerous, im the one bringing it up, anybody whose seen your questions or answers will notice how you continually add on to questions and answers until you force someone to submit to your opinion. Out of both of us your he one who is using word trickery, i mean wtf is crappola? I have a fetish for the Irish? you mean having and showing common decency towards another race? NH teams keep bringing up victories? I haven't seen this. On this website the only boasting ive seen are Irish people delighted with there 6nations win. This doesn't include northern hemisphere sides. INFact its quite the opposite, its people from the SH boasting about how they thrashed the NH in the autumn internationals and gloating how there 'miles ahead' of the NH. Infact you used the2008 AI in your last question. Btw The NH leagues are more widespread, imports come from all countries to play in the leagues, not just players from the SH. Clubs rarely have... more than 2/3 SH players. more

Resolved Question: (constructive criticism) Could you please look over this experiment I designed?

I had to design my own experiment, and carry it out (for Biology). Here is the experiment...is there any way that I can improve it? Would you be able to repeat it? Is it easy to understand? REPORT: Plant responses to stimuli Introduction Hormones are chemical substances that are produced in response to a stimulus. In plants, environmental factors can influence a plant’s growth and development, and result in the stimulation or inhibition of certain responses. Such factors include light intensity, temperature, day length and gravity. Auxins are a group of plant hormones that respond to stimuli by cell growth and elongation, apical dominance, and the stimulation of lateral and adventitious roots. They are produced in the growing tips of plants. Auxins cause plant shoots to move in response to light. This is known as phototropism. Auxins move away from light sources, towards the shade. Therefore, if a light source is more concentrated on one side of the tip of a coleoptile, then the auxin will move to the other side, where it will cause the cells in the darker region to elongate. The coleoptile would then bend towards the light. Aim To test whether a coleoptile will continue to bend towards light once its’ tip is no longer exposed to light. Hypothesis If the tip of a coleoptile is the only part of the plant that bends towards light (due to the presence of auxins), then the removal of the tip of the coleoptile would result in the plant growing straight up, rather than bending. Materials 6 seeds Petri dish Cotton wool 3 plastic cups A long plastic container Measuring cylinder Gardening soil Tap water Plant clipper 2 thimbles Method 1.Line the bottom of a petri dish with cotton wool, and place all 6 seeds on top of the wool. Soak the wool with water, and cover the petri dish. It should take approximately 3 days for the seeds to germinate. 2.Label each of the plastic cups as follows: ‘cut-tips’, ‘control’ and ‘covered-tips’. 3.Puncture 3 small holes in the bottom of each cup. 4.Once the seeds have germinated, fill each cup with an equal amount of soil, until they are three-quarters full. 5.In each cup, bury 2 seedlings, with the shoot facing upwards. Cover the seedlings with the remainder of the soil, ensuring that each cup has an equal amount of soil. 6.Place the cups in the plastic container, and water each cup with 50mL of water. Place the container in a place where sunlight is available. 7.Each day, water each cup with 40mL of water. 8.Once each cup contains coleoptiles approximately 8cm in height, take a photograph for the ‘Day 1’ section of the results table. Record the position of the coleoptiles in the table. 9.Cut the tips off the coleoptiles in the ‘cut-tips’ cup. (Do not cut too much – about 1cm should do). 10.Cover the tips of the ‘covered-tips’ coleoptiles with the thimbles. 11.The following day, take a photograph of the coleoptiles, recording the position of each coleoptile in regards to sunlight. 12.Repeat step 11 for Day 3. I will be recording the results in a table. The table will have the headings 'cut-tips, control, covered-tips'. And the rows will be labelled 'day 1, day 2, day 3'. For each day, I will be placing a photo of the coleoptiles, and I will record the position of the coleoptile in regards to sunlight (ie: straight, towards light, away from light) Do you have any suggestions? Any ideas as to how else I can record the results? Thankyou!!! more

Resolved Question: Forgotten Sayings of Jesus (in Christianity)?

Jesus made it clear that he is not God "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone." (Mark 10:18) A man had ran up and knelt before Jesus and called him "Good Teacher." Jesus used the opportunity to make it clear to people that they must not praise him more than a human being deserves to bepraised. Jesus depends on God for Authority: God depends on no one: "I can do nothing of my own authority" (John 5:30) "I do as the Father has commanded me." (John 14:31 RSV) Needless to say, God does not receive commands from anyone. "The words that I say to you I do not speak of my own authority." (John 14:10 RSV) "I do nothing of my own authority but speak thus as the Father has taught me." (John 8:28 RSV) God has full authority, and full knowledge. He cannot be taught, but He teaches. --------------------------------------... Jesus is not Equal to "The Father" "The Father is greater than I." (John 14:28 RSV) People forget this and they say that Jesus is equal to the Father. Whom should we believe--Jesus or the people? --------------------------------------... Jesus Does Not Know Everything Speaking of the Last Day, Jesus said: "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." (Matthew 24:36) --------------------------------------... Did Jesus Raise Himself up? God raised him up. (Acts 2:24) Jesus did not have power to raise himself up. God had to raise him up, as the author of Acts says. ----------------------------------------... Jesus prayed to God: God prays to no one "Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee; remove this cup from me; yet not what I will, but what thou wilt." (Mark 14:32) Jesus fell on his face and prayed to God, begging God to save him from crucifixion. This also shows that Jesus had a will different from God's will. The writers of Matthew, Mark, and Luke tell us that it was Jesus's wish to be saved from crucifixion, but it was God's will to let the crucifixion take place. "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46) --------------------------------------... Jesus did not know the tree had no fruit He [Jesus] was hungry. And on seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it , he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. (Mark 11 12-13) When he saw that the tree had leaves, he thought that he might find fruit on it. But when he came up close to the tree he realised there were no fruits. After all, it was not even fig season. --------------------------------------... Jesus referred to as Servant of God "Behold my servant whom I have chosen." (Matthew 12:18 In this passage God calls Jesus His servant) The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus. (Acts 3:13) For truly in this city there were gathered together against thy holy servant Jesus. (Acts 4:27) Everyone, except for God, are God's servants. Jesus, too, is God'sservant. --------------------------------------... Who was real Worker of Miracles? Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: (Acts 2:22 KJV) People say that since Jesus worked many miracles, he must be God. But here we see that God did the miracles; Jesus was the instrument God used to accomplish His work. Jesus was a man whom God approved of. This means he was a righteous man. --------------------------------------... Jesus cannot guarantee positions "To sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father" (Matthew20:23) Therefore if we want to secure our position with God in the life hereafter we must turn to God and ask Him. --------------------------------------... A Misunderstood saying I and the Father are one. (John 10:30) People like to quote this saying, but they forget the followingsaying: John 17:11 Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. This shows that what was meant was one in purpose, not one in substance as people think. The disciples could not become one human, but they can pursue the same goal. That is to say, they can be one in purpose, just as Jesus and the Father are one in purpose. --------------------------------------... Did Jesus say everything John says he said? John 14:9 Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life. John 8:12 I am the light of the world. John 8:58 Before Abraham was, I am. John 10:7 I am the door of the sheep. John 11:25 I am the resurrection, and the life. John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. John 15:1 I am the true vine. Christian scholars tell us that if Jesus had made all these fanare christians aware of those verses?!are they out of context?! yes or no? thanks . more

Hi - lo step, floor work, light weights, resistance bands and core work. I am dieting and cutting out the bad...but the scale has not moved!
