Resolved Question: Do you like my new recipe?

Do you like this recipe? Marbled Quail's Eggs INGREDIENTS 12 quail's eggs 600ml/1 pint/2 1/2 cups strong lapsang souchong tea 15ml/1 tbsp dark soy sauce 15ml/1 tbsp dry sherry 2 whole star anise curly endive, ground Szechuan peppercorns and sea salt, to serve Place the quail's eggs in a saucepan of cold water and bring to the boil. Time them for 2 minutes from the moment when the water comes to the boil. Transfer the eggs from the pan to a colander and run them under cold water to cool. Tap the shells all over so they are crazed, but do not peel the eggs. In a large saucepan, bring the tea to the boil, then add the soy sauce, sherry and star anise. Add the eggs and boil again for about 15 minutes, partially covered, so the liquid does not boil dry. Remove the eggs from the pan. When they are cool, peel and arrange on a small platter lined with curly endive. Mix the ground Szechuan peppercorns with an equal quantity of of salt and place the mixture in a small dish to serve with the eggs. Tip Szechuan peppercorns are dried reddish brown berries from a shrub native to Szechuan. They are not so hot as the true peppercorn, but have a numbing effect and a distinctive aroma. They are roasted, ground, and the husks discarded before use. I submitted my recipe here: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Marbled-Quail's-Eggs more

Resolved Question: I have a simple math question...?

I think the English were drinking more than water when they invented the following measurement units. If 2 cups equals a pint, and 2 pints equal a quart and 4 quarts equal a gallon, and 31-33 1/3 gallons equal a barrel, what does 2 barrels equal (not a shotgun)? and where did this odd term come from? (and did you know 2 of those makes a Butt-----the image of these barrel measurements is burning in my memory)? It is no wonder that they don't put it in your math book! An interesting way to cook a pork flavored apple--YUM. more

Resolved Question: What do you think of the Heineken mini draught kegs ?

I made this question more fun, and interesting a second ago, but it got deleted. I'm going to get straight to my question, and I hope that only people that have been drinking for awhile, will answer this. Please do the math for me, this keg says, " 1.33 gal - 5L " So that's 1.33 gallons for sure, and I guess 5 liters too. The guy at the beer distributor told me it's equal to about 14 bottles ( but he didn't sound too sure ) Anyway, how many pints is 1.33 gallons equal to, or how many 12 oz bottles ? To make this question even more fun, how many 40 ounce bottles could this 1.33 gallon draught keg fill ?? I really want to know that question, especially when Heineken doesn't even sell 40 ounce bottles. I'm back to drinking at a slow rate, and having fun. I had 3 or 4 cups, and the keg can is still heavy, I think it's pretty cool for only $22, it comes with a tap, and all ... Did I get a good deal ? more
