Open Question: Left 4 Dead PC Split Screen?

I have followed all of the guides that tell how to do this. I get the two screens, I have one wireless xbox 360 controller, and I can't control the second player. I've tried to control the second player by using cmd2 bind f +jump but that doesn't work either. I can control the second player only if I type into the console something like cmd2 +jump. Doesn't make sense at all! Forget the controller, how can i even make l4d recognize there's two players??I can only control the 2nd player when i pause and then unpause. then he will do whatever the command was in cmd2 +jump. more

Open Question: Fallout 3: Controller question before i buy?

Well i have had oblivion for ever, and as we know fallout is also a bethesda softworks game and from what ive seen its really simlar to oblivion. Anyways, when i play oblivion and map my xbox controler out, the left analog stick works to walk around, but hte right one wont move when it comes to "looking" now the odd thing is the right stick click button still works. I play other games for pc so i can confirm the controller is working damn fine. Has anyone set up the controller for fallout? If so how does it work in terms of usefulness? And ps dont solicite those programs about maping ur controller to keystrokes, cause you cant map a joystick movment. Thanks! more

Open Question: How do I upload videos to my pc with quality?

I've got a samsung video camera that I lost the usb chord to for loading videos into my computer. I noticed that my ps3 had the same usb(used for charging the controller) and that if fit into my video camera perfect. But when I try to upload them into my pc, the sound becomes distorted. Do I need the original, or can I get one somewhere else. Please help! Thanks.My video camera is a samsung mini dv. It uses the mini vhs tapes, or thats what I call them. Open Question: Why doesn't my wired Xbox 360 controller work on my PC?

I have been using my wired controller on my old PC for about 2 years and i recently bought a new HP Computer. I plugged in my controller to the new PC, it installed and worked perfectly. But then on the next day, I plugged it in all 4 quadrants blink then turn off. But when I plug it in to my 360 it works. So I'm wondering if I might have done something wrong on the PC and I'm also wondering if I can uninstall the hardware off of my computer and reinstalling. more

I know this is a very noobish question to ask because I am usually a full-on PC gamer with only keyboard and mouse ( Gmod, CS:S, DOD anything valve or from steam, etc.) but recently I sampled Arma 2. Besides the unbelievable lag which i am taking care of as we speak, I was wondering if there are any people out that that have found a controller that works with it? Its a very beautiful game but it seems the aiming system is very flimsy, kinda too light for a mouse to be used. What should I be looking for if I intend on getting Arma 2? Am I going to have to stick with the classic keyboard and mouse? Any productive answer would help me out. Thanks guys. more

Open Question: I need help getting sound back on my computer?

I have a Dell dimension 2400 and the motherboard recently went bad. My cousin got me the * Manufacturer's name - ASUS A7N8X-LA * HP/Compaq name - Explorer 2 as a replacement. heres what the sticker says on the MB/ HP pin 5187-4113/ Besides the sound problem it says im missing a SM bus controller and Ethernet Controller. I have no clue what to do theres nothing in the add/remove programs which deals with audio. I believe i used to have soundMAX something or other. When i go to sounds and audio devices under the hardware tab in this order it has AUDIO CODECS LEGACY AUDIO DRIVERS MEIDA CONTROL DEVICES LEGACY VIDEO CAPTURE DEVICES VIDEO CODECS thats all that it has under that tab so i guess theres no audio software or drivers but ive tried download ones and nothing works i dont know what im doing please help if you can. under the volume tab it says no audio device. Open Question: Guncon controller with PC FPS'? Possible? Help making it possible please?

Alright, first off, I would like to explain something. The difference between normal fps and the lightgun games like time crisis is that in the lightgun games, there is no character movement, nor rotation of field of view, meaning that you can only shoot in what field of view you are given for each section. Second, guncon controllers really dont work on normal fps because when you move the gun to the right, the player rotates, losing the point you might've wanted to shoot at, which can be annoying. The solution? Have three different controls for movement and view as opposed to one. There would first be normal movement , you know, forward, back, strafe left and right. Then, there is the guncon movement, where whatever is visible on the screen, meaning within the borders of your monitor WITHOUT the character rotating, and allowing for the crosshair to move within this space using the guncon, but not changing the view on the screen, so that it can be used for accurate shots. Then the third type would be simply character rotation in both x and y axis, so you can change that original view where you only saw what is in front of you, maybe by holding a button down while moving the guncon to the border of the screen, causing the character to rotate in that direction until the player releases that button, at which time would cause the player to be able to aim anywhere within the borders of the screen without the character rotating. The key is having the crosshair able to move around the screen, not just the center, and not having the view rotating. Open Question: windows xp installation error blue sceen of death?

prblem in installing winxp i started my computer and within a few minutes it hang i rebooted system after that it started to reboot again an again then i opened the cabinet and cleaned the 2 rams 256mb,then i removed all the cables of hard disk & cdrom and reinserted it then i tried to reinstall windows xp (sp2) i removed the earlier one and reinstall but afted the set up started it showed a bsod when 34 min where remaining it said windows has shut down to prevent any damage to ur pc, IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL and some hexademical code was given i tried many tines to install winxp but the same result it shows blue screen error when set reaches 34 min(remaining) then again i checked all the cables and removed and reinserted RAM and the motherboard cell(3V, panasonic) then also the same result and then next time i was trying to install winxp i went in the repair options by pressing r ,there some commands where given i ran the fixboot ,bootcfg and systemboot and to my horror when next time i tried to reboot the system the motherboard was detecting the hard disk but when tried to put a fresh copy of winxp it was showing setup could not detct hard disk so i could not proceed and i forgot to tell that when i was trying to install winxp ,at boottime after detecting the hard disk and cdrom when the next screen appears it shows 2 10 2000 2800 simple comm. controller 11 12 uptill 31 it is repeatin the same line 20 times please help me out plz send the solution on my mail my system specs are intel d101ggc motherboard, intel pentium 4(2.66ghz) LG dvd rom two ddr 256mb rams plz reply as soon as possible thanks in advance more

I have already installed its driver [Vinyl_AudioCodec_V580c] (Intel(R) 82801BA/BAM AC'97 audio controller 2445) Then after that… (restart pc) good it has sound now…BUT my problem is… its sound is increased fast I mean its sound if fast forward… I can’t find any solution for this even in the option of audio there is nothing there…I tired to reinstall its driver but it’s just the same… if you play an audio it sound is increase if you play any games, video and etc are just the same. Open Question: Installing Drivers after Reinstallation of Vista?

I apologize for the length - just trying to be thorough. Please help if you can. Yesterday I needed to reinstall my Vista OS and went through the steps - erasing my drive via booting from the Vista Installation disk and installing Vista once again then Windows greeted me and I punched in all the necessary info etc... and got to the desktop. First things first I put in my ASUS motherboard disk (computer specs listed below) and got to the menu screen where I was to download my drivers - there was a driver for my Ethernet and for my Audio Driver [ Atheros L1 Gigabit Ethernet Driver & Realtek Audio Driver respectively ] and I installed those without any issues. However, I decided to look in my manual that came with my motherboard and realized that three items did not make it on the menu screen, AMD Chipset Program Driver, ATI RAID/AHCI Controller Driver and AMD CoolN'Quiet Driver. These seems like vital components that need to be loaded. I went and explored the contents on the ASUS disk and tried installing manually but it would not allow me - i tried downloading the items off the ASUS website via drivers page, no luck. If anyone can give me a way to install these drivers or find out if Vista automatically installed default drivers I would greatly appreciate it. -- AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor -- Motherboard: Asus M3A Socket AM2+/ AMD 770/ DDR2-1066/ RAID/ A&GbE/ATX Motherboard -- Memory: SUPER TALENT 8GB DDR2 800MHZ PC-6400 (4 X 2GB) -- Video Card: nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB DDR3 HDCP Video Card -- OS: Windows Vista Ultimate x64 p.s. There is an RC video game for the PC called Virtual RC and there is a controller that goes with that game that is USB. I was updating my computer and I thought I would update my BIOS. I think I have updated it with the wrong BIOS and now the computer won't start properly. Open Question: How can I use two joysticks simultaneously on my PC under XP?

The XP game controller menu assures that I only have access to the input of one device at a time. I think I want a piece of software or a clever driver that will take the input from a USB/Serial or USB/USB joystick duo. Finally I want to map the cardinal axes to emulate keystrokes. Any ideas? All my joysticks are sidewinders. I can't remember if the Sidewinder packaged software actually took the input from all joysticks either or whether it only took data from one "preferred" port as well. There was a ppjoy workaround with someone else's software but the instructions were spotty at best. If I could only get something like Xpadder to recognize a second input device. more

Hello. I would like to download the Game; "Metal Slug 3." Oh, and it needs to be free, and safe. (By Safe, I mean no viruses and stuff.) I tried downloading it once, but it brings me to a site once it's done downloading. And, I play the game on the site. Ok, so here is what happened: I installed a clean copy of windows XP and formatted my hard drive before i did so. I let it install and after wards i loaded up my PC and the graphics card wasn't working. So i went to Nvidia website to get the driver and i clicked on the option for it to automatically scan for hardware. When it had done this it said that no hardware could be found, so i opened up device manager and looked for my graphics card. I couldn't find anything except from "Video Controller (VGA Compatible) under "Other Devices". There are also a few other things under other devices these are: Ethernet Controller, PCI Device and SM Bus Controller. I know my graphics card must be working because i have my monitor plugged into it at the moment and its working fine! Also Nvidia control panel is not there on the control panel. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! Brook.Yea, its an Nvidia Geforce 7thousand-and-something LE. ill try it more
